The EA didn't open any orders.

pls my broker daily start is at 00,00 GMT. What do i set the EA's day start as, i think d EA is getting wrong trades.it opened its trade at exactly 18.00GMT. thanks anyone help

If you're using IBFX, then you dont need to change anything ont he EA. Just attach it to the charts.

The EA is calculating the lower limit incorrectly, I'll just fix that and post it in a few.

For those of you who dont know how to attach an EA to the chart, please follow the simple instructions.

1) put the file "NicoTinaBreakOut.ex4" in the experts folder of your installed paltform. In my case, the folder is :
"C:\Program Files\Interbank FX Trader 4\experts"

2) restart your trading platform

3) from the menu bar, click on View->Navigator
In the navigator, expand the "expert advisor" node.
you should see the EA in there, drag and drop it on the H1 chart of GBPJPY, this will bring up a window. In the common tab, make sure you select "Allow Live Trading" and in the inputs tab, make sure all the parameters are according to your broker

4) Also go to the menu bar Tools -> Options and from the window select the "Expert Advisors" Tab and make sure the "Enable Expert Advisors" tab is checked. If the Advisor is attached correctly to the charts you should see a smiley face at the top right corner.

This version of the EA has the correct Range calculations.

By default the EA adds a padding of 10 pips to each side of the range when placing the trades, If you want the EA not to do that, set the "EntryBuffer" parameter to 0.

Hey saaedb, if you allow me a few questions:

- Is "number of resets" related to re-entry after stopped out? Can I change it to 1 not to re-enter?

- How the EA is going to work on Mondays? Will it get 18gmt from Friday to 2gmt on Monday? Would that be right for the strategy?

yes and yes .

I think thats the only logical way to trade monday, if the rules are different please let me know and i'll update the EA. If we dont have any rules for Monday, we're just going to have to wait and see how mondays react and update the strategy/ea accordingly.

I think nicotina gets the 18-2gmt on Sunday (rather than 18gmt Friday) from some other source, looks like there are brokers that don't close in the weekend (unlike IBFX).

That is - I GUESS I read that somewhere. Not sure.

It will get the previous 18 GMT from 2 GMT on monday, if there is a 18 GMT for Sunday, thats what it will use to calculate the range, if not, then it will get the Friday's 18 GMT

That is correct, rules for Monday is to set the range from open of trading on Sunday evening to 2:00 GMT on Monday, no data from Friday are used.

I've added a "OnMondayUseWeekendDataOnly" parameter which by default is set to true.

If this parameter is true, on monday it will look for 18 GMT on Sunday, if it can't find it, it will use the Open candle of Sunday.
If the parameter is set to false, it will try to find the 18 GMT from Sunday, if it can't find it, it will use the 18 GMT from Friday

Nice... and thanks for your effort

The reason I asked if I could change the re-entry to 1 is because I'm using 100 pips SL in this strategy, rather than 50 + 50.

Like today, instead of being stopped out twice, I got 100 pips profit.

If stopped out in -100, I call it a day.

I think EA doesn't count the day stop losses, if one SL have been triggered EA opens another position, thats correct, but if SL have been triggered for the second time, we do not open the third position right ?
