Hi Everyone,
First of all, I would like to thank mainly to Nicotina for sharing his system, billbss for clarifying so many items for everyone and to rest of guys here for contributing to this thread. It is highly appreciated. I am a newbie and have read tread from page one. However, I do have couple of questions and would really appreciate if you guys can answer them for others and myself. Here are my questions:

 

  1. Can EAs be used only in MetaTrader 4? (My current broker is forex.com not it is not using MetaTrader4. I opened demo account with northfinance.com and currently practicing)
  2. Can one EA be used in different broker’s website that uses MT4?
  3. I read help about EA in MT4. I followed the procedure to activate “!Dan-EA v29[1].3 ts-gbp-jpy_1t.mq4” ( this is the EA created by superbem, page 18 #259). However, it seems like it is not doing anything. This is the picture in my chart that I think it shows EA is active ( I could not add the picture)

So, can anyone share some kind of tutorial (preferably on “!Dan-EA v29[1].3 ts-gbp-jpy_1t.mq4”) ? It would be really nice if anyone can explain EA section by section. I know it is a lot of work but you will be blessed :-))).

4. What are the DayStartHour, StopShift and OrderExprationHours? Are they in GMT time or in your broker’s time frame?
5. Having said that I am a newbie, and with all of my respect to everyone, here is one thing about how we can improve this system if any

    1. TP and SL could be function of maximum and the minimum between 18:00GTM and 2:00GTM, and the current currency rate at 2:00 GTM (this might be possible by testing and optimizing tolls within MT4). Here are two examples( just made up values, my not make any sense)

Buy:230.00, Sell: 228.00, Rate at 2:00 GTM: 229.50 then TP: 50, SL:50

OR

Buy:230.00, Sell: 228.00, Rate at 2:00 GTM: 228.27 then TP: 150, SL:100

I haven't created that EA, I only changed it to open the second order.
To make the EA running you have to certify if it appears a smiley face on right upper corner of the chart.
As of right now I see these numbers:

H 230.93

L 228.47

Thanks for feedback.. Yes I have smiley face in my chart.. still not working. I will appreciate if you have any feedback for the other items in my previous post

nico when you say buy at 230.92 you mean when price on chart hits that number right? so entry would be 230.92/99 (7 pip spread) am i right

Here is the snap shot from expert terminal it seems like it loaded the ea at 21:12:42 and then removed at 22:13:53 . Any help with that?

Can anyone tell me how to attach chart/picture to the post?
Stopped out on original long?? Adding second order buy stop at 230.91......
Holding off...added 15 pips to the new buy stop as 230.92 seems to me a major resistance level...if new candle opens above 230.92...it should proceed onward...otherwise be leery!

First one stopped out, but the second one is +40 for the moment, pray to hit

With the way the GBP/JPY was treading water I was able to pick up 70 pips while I babysat this trade....
