I agree, its a real problem not having bad signals- I have lost one trade so far but I just spent half an hour looking for it or any signal failure and the only ones I could find werent good signals in the first place! With the right set of rules, observance of support and resistance and market times, it is very difficult to lose a trade. Melpheos has been doing it alot longer than me so perhaps he will be able to find you a bad signal. They do occur.

The theory behind its effectiveness is simple. It waits for a trend to develop, and then waits for a retracement of that trend. It then waits for confirmation that the retracement has exhausted before signaling an entry. Lots of waiting and patience is built in. All the hard work is done by the indicator. Brilliant!

In short, it sells rallies in a downtrend and buys dips in an uptrend. That is a successful formula but is difficult to do with a discretionary technique.

I also use pivots to filter entries and to determine conservative targets and stop loss levels and I have a few other rules regarding the stoch set up. I take notice of candlestick reversal patterns also. I usually trade one hour or higher though. I would love to talk more about this with you as it seems our techniques are similar. Perhaps we may be able to contribute something new to the already great work of melpheos, boxingislife and others

meanwhile here is a signal that entered just prior to market consolidation at about midday New York Time. It still would have been difficult to lose or at least break even because it did manage to get 50 pips in front before reversing but thats the best 'failure' I could find so far

Looking at this chart I have a comment on the 16th where you have a bullish candle around 13:00 chart time possible signaling a bearish move with the stoch's. If I was to see this when the trend stoch's are headed short, I would look to the lower TF stoch's for an entry signal. Candlestick patterns or formation like this can be golden when observed with the lower TF charts. This could have been good for 20-40 pips if taken on the open of the following candle.

On the 17th around 7:00, there was a bullish hammer that one can see the 1hr trend stoch's beginning to turn. Again an indication to look to the lower TF stoch's for an entry.

I'm not finished read all this thread yet, ( page1- 30, 60- today)
In the page 1x .. , boxing told this thread isn't for EA. (hates EA I think)

But, when I read page 30xx , I saw nondisclosure EA.

Is it ok to talk about EA here ? ( 1 brain isn't enough to think)

I'm in an early step of making discretion into computer algorithm
and converted into a good EA (I think..). If I can say, it's give a very good result for a start, (steady up).

It's single TF trade only M15 , try it with the default setting.
Full S/L and T/P, but no MM just trade the methode,
the filter I use is EMA4 Hi and Lo,
The trade will taken if and only if
2 other high TF stoch 5 is confirm and the price is right to the EMA4.
Use Debug true, to see when the trade decision are made,
because the EA is wait for the price, you can determining the queue time ,
by setting "expQ" parameter (in minutes)

Sexy stoch signal has occured on the DOW after yesterdays close. EURJPY, which is a proxy trade for the DOW, is lagging one day behind so will signal at todays close (midnite gmt) providing current levels hold or it trades lower. Target 1 is based on a leg 2 down trend continuation pattern and target 2 is based on a Tom Demark trendline break price projection. It will take a decent trigger to reach these levels quickly and a surprise interest rate hold by the fed at the Oct 31st meeting is my tip to bring this baby home. Of course there are no guarantees and trade this call at your own risk. Price could just as easily go north from here and never return to these levels again. I have taken the DOW short with a 100 pip stop and will be looking at lower time frames during todays London and New York sessions for short entries on EUR/JPY

price has failed to make a new high today. If this current attempt fails It should be an sexcellent short trade. I will enter short below the central pivot after the line breaks and the 533 stoch turns down out of overbought. a break above 165.50 will be bullish and cancel the current short bias - for the time being

i'd be carefull on the dow signal you are pointing out. As you can see, the stoch 20 is reversing and the stoch 50 are mostly flat. Also, the price has retraced 50% of the latest drop so it might continue the same way. Finally, there is two major announcement this week ( interest rate statement and NFP)

@Musanto, i have an indicator i made that is working great (look my previous posts) but when i turned it to an EA is was horrible. I personnaly doubt that the EA you created is as efficient as your backtest shows (45% backtesting quality maybe ? ) but keep up the work, who knows, you could end up with something good (my EA lack a proper MM )

Also according to the description it's more a MTF stoch EA than a sexystoch EA

My charts are IT finance and and they allow you to have a different colour for for up and down slope on ma's. metatrader dosent seem to have this function

Melpheos - you are correct, the signal on the DOW is not ideal. I am trading my bias which is based on long term analysts projections of downside risks caused by the subprime -crash -crises- hiccup (insert your choice) and the current housing situation in the U.S It may take take months, if ever, to play out. I lost 28 pips on the EUR/JPY on the last trade. The signal was also less than ideal but I jumped in because of this bias. This is how we lose - trying to be right.trading our beliefs - or is that just me?. I am going to move my daily DOW and EUR/YEN positioning out of this thread and only post strong sexystoch signal trades here. Of course if it does what I predicted you guys will be hearing all about it lol. Here is the chart of the EUR/JPY short trade, you can see that although the longer term lines were below there signals, they had actually started moving up. I lost 28 pips on this but fortunately my DOW position has moved 50 pips in my favour.

How to make these three kd into one window.

To put these 3 stochs together u can just , open list with indicators on ur left side and "drag and drop" every stoch on same place.
It means , u can "drag and drop" 5,3,3 to main chart , and next "drag and drop" 20 stoch on previous 5,3,3 and it will set them together in 1 place , and same make with 50 stoch .
and u will have 3 stochs in 1 window.

Melpheos, thank's for being so helpful to this thread, feel like private forum to me. I test this EA, with model every tick, but the modelling quality is n/a and after loading Alpari data there are "mismatched data error". I don't know why.
Do you know how to fix it ?

You are right, I'm mixing MTF stoch in this method, so the name maybe "Sexy Back Spud.." The reason using this is, I don't want other indicator to make EA rule to be complicated. I prefer using many rules than new indicator, so it's will shrink my variable in giving rules.

I think I've found a way to avoid this MTF stoch, will upgrade to next version.
