positive interest pairs

I found a list of positive interest pairs at a broker: USD/JPY EUR/JPY GBP/JPY
GBP/CHF AUD/JPY NZD/JPY. Are there more positive interest pairs than this?

Are these 6 pairs always positive interest?

How often does an interest rate for a currency change?

Why are so many positive interest pairs short JPY?

Is it a good idea to trade positive interest pairs just because of the fact that they are positive interest?

It makes no sense to trade them since you only get money if you go long on them (of course if you want to monetize on the interest rates research carry trades)

Why are there a lot of JPY pairs in there ? Because in Japan the interest rate is 0.5% which is lower than in any other currency you can trade in fx.

yep.. any currency with higher interest rate than the one u are trading against should give you positive swap. Though in practice this often is not the case with some retail broker, because they often take a slice and if the interest rates are close, both sides could end up negative. If you go long on NZD against any of the major currencies you should get positive swap as they have much higher rates than any other major currency. However, be sure to check with your broker on the swap rates they pay.

Here is a list of the highest paying pairs for intrest....it is a couple monthes old now and some of the rates have changed but the bias should not have changed..

In Japan, some investors are passionate about TRY(New Turkish Lira), ISK(Iceland Krona) or ZAR, the investors who are concerned about foreign exchange volatility seem to prefer HKD or OMR(Omani Rial). About TRY/JPY, current swap rate is about 436 yen per 10,000 unit. But I don't want to buy these currencies because of low-information about these countries.

As Mr.Canyouseeme said before, Japanese yen's interest rate is the lowest(0.5%). Japanese economic bubble(real-estate boom) popped in 1990s by Japanese financial officials' mistake, furthermore, they had cut interest rates for the sake of bailing out aliling banks plagued by bad loans due to decline of the value of collateral real estate.
To be honest with you, if Japan were to be able to raise interest rates sky-high, decrease taxes and go ahead with nuclear armaments, we wouldn't need to sell JPY(buy foreign currency) and billionaire financiers would gather around Japan. For now, sad to say, it's an impossible dream.

Are you trying to deal with JPY pairs, too? Necessity is diversification of risk when stronger yen. About yen-carry trade, Japanese life insurance companies seemed to have made big profits in the 1980s, but they burnt their fingers when Plaza Agreement. What I'm trying to say is "unwind a trade" influenced by world events. Currently, world's money markets are joined at the hip because of global marketing. For example, Shanghai stocks at the end of February, US subprime mortgage woes in August...

Principle: profit from changes in exchange rates>positive interest

We Japanese often hold unsuccessful trade and then we tend to thrive on positive interest swap. It takes a long time to grow. Since wild ups and downs, we oughtn't use high-leveraged effectiveness due to avoidance of margin call. Um....I can't aggressively recommend you to persevere in "buy and hold" for a long time in forex. Well, we attempt to stock in on positions when sharp fall(when stronger yen).

is it possible that a broker could offer negative swap interest where you are long the higher interest paying currency and short the lower paying currency...this is a link showing the different swap rates using the NXD as the base currency...for example, look at the swap rate for the NZD/JPY.???
