This is the right question to ask. Most indicators give you a signal but no way to grade whether its actually worth taking. What changed my trading was adding a confirmation layer that scores each signal based on trend strength, volume and higher timeframe alignment together. If all three dont agree the score stays low and I skip the trade. Saved me from a lot of bad entries that looked valid on the surface.

Re: "Continuation trading", INDEED, by using my Personal Python script I find some very fascinating statistical results without using any usual TAs whatsoever, validating your "continuation" trading philosophy. For example I found XAUUSD on 1HR bars, traded on Lon+NY sessions (8hrs) and a tunnel of 20/20 (TP/SL) just by a candle Close > Open yields an 87% WinRate and 67 PF. I know, hard to believe. Why? Coz most FX enthusiasts have the simplest pass under their radar AND they aren't looking for it by statistics. So if anyone care to try this one out be my guest. I used Tickstory 1Min data that was made by my software into 1HR bars.

Hi, just did same search on my software for S&P MicroMini, got this formula (a freebie, hope you like):

Just a note, nothing is perfect.
Sometimes you'll need to exit early, and sometimes your SL will get hit. That's just part of the game and I like it!
