Good to see you back. Sounds like you had a lot going on, so I understand why you stepped away. Glad things are moving in the right direction.

I had a feeling we hadn't heard the last from you - you're always working on something, trying to make things better. The people who've been around here a while know how much you've shared and taught over the years, and it's appreciated.

Im about to download the RSOR and take a look.

I know this is a forex forum but I was in this thread a few years ago and came across it again. I was curious if anybody was able to convert things to tradingview?

I completely understand if not, and I really appreciate everything you’ve already shared. You’ve already given a lot, and there’s no obligation at all.
I just imagine that even if it helps one person like the man returning starfish to the ocean it could truly make a real difference.

I don't have the time (nor honestly the desire) to actually write a proper guide "per se" regarding using the RSOR, and while it does have many, many nuances, that can be interpreted, I think about it like this (for beginner users):

Bruce Lee said: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times"

So my "one best kick" using the RSOR is this: (and not surprisingly, it's a Continuation Trade):

1. First, for Long trades, I want the Cyan line (the 34-10-3 Stochastics) in the RSOR to be above about 60ish, and the higher the better and most ideally "angling up". This tells you that you are in a "strong uptrend".

2. I want the darker blue line (the RSI, 4 based on the 14 ema) to have "flatlined at 100", then it dips down ANY amount below 100 and then goes all the way back to being "flatlined at 100" again. (That's one way I use it to enter).

3. I use the orange line mostly for exits (but also to show me divergences), and I typically do that (exit) in 5 different ways...depending on the situation. If I am Long...

a) I may exit when the Orange line crosses above the "80 or 90 line" and then back down below the "90 line"

b) I may exit when the Orange line crosses above the "80 or 90 line" and then back down below the "80 line"

c) I may exit when the Orange line crosses above the "80 or 90 line" and then back down below the "70 line"

d) I may exit when the Orange line crosses down through/below the "cyan line"

e) I may exit when the darker blue RSI line line crosses down below the "90 line"

How do I decide which way to exit? It just comes from experience, and most often, I don't always choose what would have been the very best exit. And I am "Okay" with that.

* RSOR Short trades are trading exactly the opposite of Long trades.

Later I'll expand on other ways that I use the RSOR, but someone getting the above concepts correct first are what I feel are the most important things that a trader can learn to do in the beginning regarding using the RSOR.

Yes, ideally, I think that whatever works on one time frame should always work on every time frame.

On this chart, it's a Daily Apple chart and the Blue RSI line is set to: RSI (4) based on the 10 ema. I often adjust the RSI (4) ---> ema settings to best fit what I saw looking backwards on a chart...because different stocks, Futures, and Forex pairs have different personalities...and therefore they often move differently and so I try to adjust for that when I am looking backwards - hoping that it will do very much the same when going forward again.

Here is my sniper entry and exit method when using the RSI in this manner:

Green Box = Go Long

Red Box = Exit

Upper Chart indicator and settings

3 ema - Yellow-ish dotted line
10 ema - I use the blue and yellow dots. The 10 ema does not align with those dots exactly correctly so for the magenta line I used the 12 ema
21 ema - Cyan line

Dots = Volatility Stop indicator - Settings: True Range Period = 10, True Range Multiplier = 1.00 - based on the 10 ema

Lower Window

RSOR indicator (and settings) and is comprised of:

RSO - Orange line = Stochastics 8,3,3 exponential. Cyan line (lighter blue) = Stochastics 34,10,3 exponential

RSI - Darker Blue line = RSI (4) based on the 10 ema
