London will usually create the low or high of the day and then NY will do the opposite.

Some days will just range but generally thats what happens.

So when NY opens you need to be ready for a reversal more so than continuation.

If you wrap up before NY open then you'll be fine but NY is very tradeable... it just moves faster because of the double volume from London & NY.

I prefer NY personally because once liquidity has been taken, the goal is faster to achieve.

When London takes liquidity it's just much slower and more likely to range along the way to build up more liquidity to hit the target.

It all depends. Sometimes Asia/London is a lot better to trade than NY, Like it has been past days in ES. Today was hard day for me on NY, but London provided me nicely. I will shows some pics.

On image you can see how much more clear price was on london than it was on NY, on NY it was whipsaw everywhere. No clear pullbacks and wicks all over the place. So i only took 1 trade and it was loss. Still leaving 5r from PC.

On TPO other had i saw right away that even that 1 trade on NY was mistake. Value area has not been shifted up or down, and both ETH and RTH printed D profile. So that NY trade was just pure stupidity from me.

I may not have stressed it enough so my bad but yeah.... the signal line is important because it allows you to know that price is on your side.

So if the HTF signal line has crossed 0 then that is the direction you want to trade IF its all aligned.

On the LTF when the signal line (in uptrend) dips below the 0 level with bearish volume then you can call it... a reset.

Once bullish volume comes in and then you get the 3rd bar entry then you can be confident to enter.

If price has been making higher highs and hasn't crossed below the 0 level whilst you're in a trade I'd be weary entering new ones unless you get the dip below.

There will be plenty of examples in this thread but I didnt explicitly say every time... keep checking the signal line.

If we use your first picture, I have marked the entry

Price swept london low and then created a new lower high that was eventually broken in the NY session.

That imbalance left alongside the high was your entry if you were trading the reversal.

For me, that is the 'safe' trade that I would always take BUT isnt following Nova. Just my own experience.

You got me all wrong here. I didint have any problems with nova. I just didint like Price action. My point was to bring up that london moved nicely, multiple candles up and down waving nicely. While new york today was moving UP, mut it whipsawed everywhere. With my positions i just basically dont like it. Then we had huge Positions coming and then huge positions in other direction which made 15point wicks on ES which is not usual behaviour. If market has anomalies like that, im caution to take any trade no matter how A+++ Setup we have.

No I was showing how you would be able to trade NY. It looks crazy but it's really easy if you know how to tame the beast.

I only managed to understand it once I didn't care about losing and tested things though! lol

EDIT: If london trends well then NY will be a horrorshow most of the time.

I agree and dissagree here. With that type of volume when we had almost 1million in volume in first hour. Order book was cleared multiple times today. Means even if i had stoploss it would have not been triggered. I have learned this hard way. Thats why i said when i see anomalies like that i stay away even i could have traded. I saw that buy and i also saw sells. But candles that moved 50ticks in blink of an eye, will not trigger my Stop loss. This all is aftermath for yesterdays inside trade where i could read all over the place that peoples stoplosses were not triggered.

I think although you're doing well, too much information just literally causes analysis paralysis.

It happened to me before, I was looking at too much to make a decision... I'm not going to say you're doing anything wrong but based on what you're saying is exactly why I needed a system like Nova.

All I need to know is when the trend is gearing up to trend... the reversal comes beforehand and then I trade nova signals to the next liquidity.

I don't look at anything else whatsoever... that's the beauty of simplicity.

If I lose at trade, I know I'll make it back in the next.

Keeping it simple means theres less lag clicking that buy or sell button.

Too much information just lags the hell out of you... whilst you're checking multiple things other people are just executing... thats the killer of trades... Lag.

I get what you mean about that though!!! the volume on that move would have blown accounts for sure!

We're living in crazy times at the moment though which are affecting the way price distributes too.

I'm not going to add this to the system but whoever sees this, try adding VWAP to your chart and you'll see how market algo will seek entries before blasting off.

Middle yellow line is the VWAP and the outer bands are deviations.

Price will generally bounce from middle to deviation and back again.

If you would know me better, you wouldnt say this. Been on markets for around 16 years. 2019-2021 traded for small hedgefund, until they had some inside drama and i stopped cause i didint want to be in the middle of it. I actually dont want to tell my whole story here in public, but it has ups and downs until i learned. Tools i use does not give me analysis paralysis, they give me clarity. For you my tools for sure could give and to many others too. But go in any institution and they use same tools, they aint having paralysis there . What comes to NOVA, awesome tool! and why i ended up here. Is i have 2 daughters. They have grown up sitting on my lap while i trade. now they are 11 and 8, and they are curious. I was looking for system simple enough to teach them and the system is called Nova Like you said low amount information is what i want to teach my daughters first. Now when they watch while im trading im only explaining what i see in nova. Not in the footprint or in any other tools i use.

Edit: About that anomaly moves in NY today. I staid away cause i have watched ES. ALOT, like i mean ALOT. When i see that order book is cleared from positions in milliseconds, i know few things. If i enter trade with market i may get executed 20, 30, 40 ticks away from original entry. same happens with stoploss, So why risk it? its like you know you shouldnt put your tongue in light pole at winter but still you do, until you learn not to. Some times no trade is better than trade with unnecessary risk.

That makes total sense now! I don't know everyone on here so I go off what is posted.

I often have people who have much less experience wanting to understand how things work so I think that's why... I didn't know enough which is normal.

Amazing that you're able to use Nova to teach your children though.. I've been doing the same thing since they were in nappies haha.

I get what you were saying though about NY. I actually love NY compared to London but on gold once Comex opens every candle is like 5x bigger than pre NY and the whipsaws begin

Previous week low has been hit now so if price decides to break above then we can look for buying opportunities if it holds.

I like it here, so kinda just wanted to blend in. I like interaction and like to see how a lot of people succeeding here. I dont care what people use in the market for their advantage and its great to see that as simple as nova brings peoples success.

And yes i like trade Ny mostly too, but every now and then there are periods when NY is just annoying and accumulating hard tradeable but annoying. Especially when you start to see large 15min - 1hr ranges, you know swing boys are accumulating their positions. Also when longer period Options are expiring institutions are taking off their hedge positions from futures.

So true, NY really is a battleground but I was soooo determined to crack the code that I spent endless hours backtesting and wondering why I couldn't get into real trends.

Once I realised that real trends start from a liquidity grab it was game over lol... I ripped up everything I knew and went back to basics haha

I know I mention imbalances now but I didn't before because I knew why the EMA's flip which is something I didn't teach here but I also knew that I couldn't teach what I know now... its almost impossible to get others to be in the same mind... impossible.

So the best way was getting people to cotton on to the EMA flip and then they'll discover on their own what I know now lol... I was tryna be strategic with this thread.

But now, as you see I'm coming out with more and more simply because theres soooo much information here to digest and the best thing is that it's not that far off from the first page ha.

I love seeing how other people trade the system because we're all not the same and you can trade this on H4 if you wanted to and it's still the same so thats refreshing.

Also, if you've ever felt like risking your £5000 account and you're new.. you're making a mistake... try this with Nova

BACKTEST FIRST and not on XAU

£20 - £52k - not too shabby

It's like having a demo account if you have £5k+ anyway.

If you follow Nova properly... it tends to give you 3-5 wins then maybe 1 or 2 losses and then another 3-5 wins IF you know what you're doing.

Blow the account? load up another £20 lol

Also last share for me regarding the VWAP - if using all deviations you can see how price actually works

You can see that as well as hitting previous week low it also hit the VWAP extreme deviation.

Just adding a few little nuggets for those who see now

Hello, I just saw your message. Other friends shared their opinions on the subject. I receive transactions according to the daylight hours of where I live. This starts the last hours of the Asian session. I end the transactions before the USA opens. There is a lot of volatility in the opening moments of the American session and the price range between SL and TP pips is high. The price is too volatile. I don't like this situation.

From your post it seems to me that you are probably not waiting for the candle to close - that is interesting. Well, I always wait for the close before opening a position. Sometimes it happens that I miss the opportunity, but a few times it happened that it looked like a good position, the price was already moving in the right direction, and then the signal went wrong in the last 5 seconds.
