The most important thing in forex trading is for retail traders like us to identify trend and retracement in what ever instruments you are trading. This will help you to follow the market makers to make money when ever they want to move the market. Remember, the market makers are the big institutional traders, hedge fund managers and other big dogs etc. They are the manipulators of the markets because they have billions of dollars they can use to move the market. We the retail traders always like to trade against them. That why 90% of us loose our money to them.

Like what happened on Friday 19/12/2025, on EURJPY. While retail traders were selling the pair, institutional traders were buying the pair because its uptrend started on the 17/12/2025 by 4am my own local time on the hourly time frame but on the 4 hours time frame, it been in an uptrend since November 5th, 2025. You can see despite the raising of rate by Central Bank Of Japan, though they did not surprise the market, instead of EURJPY going down, it went up to about 247pips.

So, knowing the trend and retracement from hourly to 30 minutes time frame is very important, this will help you to make informed decision while trading on intraday using supply and demand. For now, EURJPY is on a down trend on the hourly and 30 minutes time frames. By my local time, it started by 1AM. How far it will down, I don't know, I'm not a market marker. That's my bonus tip, trade safely with good money management. Sell the rallies on EURJPY.

Like I said yesterday, EURJPY is now in a downtrend. That we should sell the rallies. The next day that's today, in fact this morning, we already have 106pips down.

Biggest lesson learned:

 

1. Strategy tester is GOOD FOR NOTHING!!!
2. I will NOT use it again to test anything - complete waste of time and I mean COMPLETE!!!
3. It nearly caused my demise - luckily I'm back on track again.
4. Just about EVERY working strategy in Back Tester fail COMPLETELY on a real account - I was SHOCKED by this.
5. I now have multiple strategies built into one EA working equally well on all 28 pairs without individual settings for each pair.
6. Only one trade per pair open at any given time - no MD & no hedging with proper stop losses in place at all times.
7. Next to do is have different TP, SL & SL for each strategy built into the same EA.
8. Also Conservative, Standard & Wild settings built into same EA completely controlled by automation based on current performance.
9. But at last, I now have a sustainable workable EA that seems to be close to 100% accurate.
10. I will focus all of my attention on refining it even more.
11. Yes, I left the names on purpose in the screenshots - it is a good place to start from for those with some drive.
12. No indicator is foolproof - the trick is to use them in a safe way. I am astounded by the current results.
13. You should ALWAYS know in which direction the MUCH (1000 bars or more) longer trend is moving & NEVER trade against it.
14. What astounds me - knowing the trend direction for each timeframe did not help me in the least - I've tested this thoroughly.
15. Another - multiple different types of indicators on different timeframes pointing to same direction is no guarantee of anything!
16. The flat section is me testing a filter which proved to be an overkill.

It is better to test your strategy in a demo account or small live account.

Updated my system successfully. Now Trading in the direction of the prevailing market trend is more clear than ever before. Take a look. God willing, we be enjoying lives trades from it in the future on EURJPY. How do trade, when the two momentum histogram say red the trend is down you keep on selling with SupDem strategy and opening more positions in the direction of the smaller arrows and vice verser for green agreement. May be the simplest fx system created by man and no repaint after the candle closes.

Reminds me a bit of Thomas Edison's story - it took a while plus a great many failures but at last viola! Fully automated , unfortunately the news does have an effect. Next on the to do list is a news filter..

Starting time was when the EA was finally fully completed. So far DD = virtually Null with very few losing trades, trading on all 28 pairs with the same settings for all pairs. Al SL in place at all times, no Marty, no increase in Lot sizes and no gimmicks of any sorts.

Yes, I KNOW it's still soon - but at least it's off to a clean start.

What took me by surprise before this was that having multiple trades open on multiple pairs can put you into a Margin Call on a USD 500 account with as little as -1 USD DD total on ALL open pairs - I was AMAZED by this. It was really hard to adjust for that. Hedging looks good on paper & pictures & demo accounts, but you need serious capital to cater for it. Bonus:

EA attached - no expiry date! So far I'm running on all 28 pairs on M15 - you might find something better. No extra indicators required.

Update:

For now at least:

Opt 1 - Don't run after 16h00 (We are GMT +2 in South Africa). Soon I'll include time & news filters.
Opt 2 - Increase the SL

This whole mess caused by the news would have been prevented by increasing SL by only 10% - it is busy recovering.

Fully recovered - new increased SL in place. Hopefully this would not happen again.

Update:

1. Increase SL=200
2. Increase TP=70
3. Maybe increase timeframe?
