Hey mate, I get 0.9 spread (and there is a discount for active traders, so it gets as low as 0.63 effective spread if you trade large volumes) on DAX with 50 lots either side ATM and 300 at the next level, so plenty there.

DAX is nice! It generally moves well in hours. I trade it on the 1-minute chart mostly, 10-second chart for the first 30 minutes of the open. It has been a bit slow the last couple of weeks, maybe because everyone is trading the metals, most of my trades are on gold atm, it is REALLY moving!

Thanks again for the great thread (I stopped by here a few years ago). I use a lot of dance style setups on the 1m chart (with different MAs, though). They are my bread and butter trades and I largely have this thread and the previous one to thank for that. So thank you my friend, you are a good man

Thanks for the invite but I use a different MA setup and timeframe for what you teach here and my creteria is slightly different now, it has evolved for my style. I don't want to lead people astray in this great thread!

Hello Traders,
I dont know if I can mention the name of the broker here in the thread. If it is allowed, I will write it in the next post.
I have a broker where I have around 0,4 Pips the whole day, only in the first hour, thats Frankfurt open and it is from 08:00 - 09:00 CET (02:00 - 03:00 NYT), the spread is up to 2 Pips. From 09:00 CET (03:00 NYT) it is 0,4 Pips, even now at 07:00 p.m. CET (01:00 p.m. NYT) it is 0,2 Pips.
You see it in the right upper corner of my charts.

I've had enough. Today, I traded gold for the first time because the major currencies are just standing still.

With gold, you just have to keep in mind that the lots are heavy now, so instead of 15 lots, you only need 1 lot to have the same effect as with the majors ;-)

I´m happy to moved to US futures, it limits the trading time to the US morning.
Better amount for less time.
In the beginning of the year I tried a mt4 for fun-- laarge difference to what I usually do.

so you never traded with mt4? or what trading software do you recommend?

No, I skipped Metatrader a couple years ago.

US Futures only.

I recommend Sierra Charts for charting, but I donot trade "candles" that way.
I look for liquidity pools and absorbtion in context. Fake outs ...
A orderbook from CQG is a good tool to spot "retailers" -- TT -- but I never used it by myself.. that is the next step.
Buy below value and sell at value and vice versa.
No rocket sience.. no big deals..
Bread and butter trades. -- but sorry -- has nothing to do with Choros. I don´t want to clutter this nice thread

I've had enough... trading gold today was easier than it has been in a long time trading currency pairs.

I'm going to include gold in my trading plan instead of the EU. (I never liked the EU anyway.)

Hi Choros Brothers

Subject : Countertrend on Choros, with Raff linear regression channel.

=>BTC-USD, 10-minute and 3 minute chart, live this morning, for example. No trade (i only trade Dax 40).

I frequently use the M3-M10-M30 trio for my trading biases with RAFF's Linear Regression Channels.

The benefit: you buy the low of the channel in confluence with a support. In dynamic systems, a support is a Bullish Moving Average. The RAFF channel provides a buy timing, while Choros provides the reason for the buy. The two work together perfectly.

The slope/orientation of the RAFF indicates whether you are entering a counter-trend trade or a trade in the direction of the underlying trend. These channels recalculate at every close. The larger the Time Frame (TF), the longer the channel will remain unchanged and the more powerful it will be.
A price on a small Time Frame, such as the M3 (which I really like on the Dax), cannot fight for long when it reaches the bottom of the M10 or M30 channel with an opposite slope; this is when counter-trend trades have a very high probability. All that remains is to find an entry argument: a Choros dynamic support on a large TF, which takes 30 seconds to find if it exists.

You rarely see Linear Regression Channels on discussion forums because they repaint the past, and you cannot look at your charts at the end of the day to see how the price behaved with them. A Raff is used to locate the price live, at the moment of the desired trade. With linear regression channels, the past does not interest us. We locate the price at the present moment relative to the channel's overall mean and its standard deviation. They have nothing to do with Bollinger Bands, which show volatility using a mean and a standard deviation.

NB : The RSI 5 doesn't have much importance, it's also just a timing tool.

A setup I love on Choros, very reliable: the Raff Channel 100 limit, and price overshooting far from the EMA 10.

A bit earlier, we had the same situation, but I hesitated for the wrong reasons and only took 7 points... that's a shame, a good setup rarely fails.

We progress our whole lives, that's what I tell myself.

In my long career as a trader, I have learned the (painful) lesson that when I trade, I must either follow the trend OR trade countertrend.

If I do both at the same time, I lose my way.

It's a bit like an owl that always hunts mice on the ground now wanting to hunt small birds in the air;-)

Hi Amigo !

You are absolutely right. We must always have the right argument, whether it's for a trend or counter-trend move.

==> Here are my reasons this morning:

*The Asian markets were green, the US closed in the green. No economic News.
*A small bearish gap occurred this morning on the DAX Cash, and this kind of gap is typically closed during the day.
*The price was dropping vertically, too quickly relative to its Fibonacci averages...
==> I therefore started to "attack" the price with small positions, lowering my global net price.
==> And I progressively saw the Choros setup appear on M10 - M15—the grail. So I waited and slightly reinforced the bottom of the position. That's it.

No randomness, just early morning work. And far from margin calls !

The chart : M3 view of my Emas Fibonacci. Very usefull....

Always the same setup: bottom of the Raff 100-2.1 channel, ema 10 far from 35-50, with a favorable context: the Cash Dax gap that had remained open was filled. The SP 500 Cash has two gaps remaining open above it, not filled by the Future: buyers jumped on the good opportunity. The correlation between the two indices was 94% on m15 and H1 at the entry. 200 points in a straight line.

On major indices, the gap strategy is very powerful. However, you must be careful when looking to trade a gap fill: a Cash gap can be filled by the Future, but not by the Cash, which is misleading. You must always check both and ensure that the gaps have remained open on both index quotes.

Really interesting stuff with the Raff linear regression channel setups, thank you for sharing.

Two setups I saw today on EURUSD and AUDCAD, both longs, EURUSD had confluence of Daily 10EMA and AUDCAD had confluence of Daily 50 EMA.

Are these setups only for support/ going long or can they work for resistance/ going short?
