I played this as a scoop-up.
Check higher TFs, we were bouncing from confluence of RN, Daily S2, WP, Daily EMA10.
I also believe that at some point it will close the gap way down around MP, but usually I wouldn't prefer to short against the aforementioned confluence.

When I was working with the French system in dynamic analysis, we used a 7-period SMA that tracked momentum. You had to be wary of the first test of a TF on its own SMA 7 with a steep slope; it blocks the passage most of the time. The 10-period EMA plays a similar role to the SMA 7 on Choros, I noticed. The Daily was making its first test, with a round number just below it. Maybe that's the problem...

THAT was my mistake, i didnt look at the daily chart and the many confluences...thank you both of pinpointing me;-)

is it just me or almost all the trades are happening in GBPUSD and USDJPY? I have been trading in the EURUSD and i want to try this new system for it, any suggestions?

Hi buddy, the system is NOT new....
Do some reading in the thread and you will understand why GBPUSD an USDJPY. It was discussed again just 2 pages back.
EUR is too slow and flat most of the time.

Choros is one of the oldest active threads on FF. Kostas and Birdland, who are posting these days, have been participating in it for...... 15 years!
They both became old grandfathers since that time.

moneyzodiac...look at 15 days ADR, compare and you will see why EU is the least attractive pair. worse is AU, UCH and UC from the major pairs.

a bit slow, but this was a EU m30 35/50 trade with a fibo 50% level as a important confluence

First trade with DAX40, conclusions:

 

  1. Nice signals with fast action
  2. Due to big moves, I had to use a normal price scale and not a fixed one for M15. I still use 100p fixed for M5
  3. Uncomforting spread for me (4pips)
  4. Easy calculation of profit/loss
  5. Probably dangerous if you let the trade unattended
  6. Good "pair" to trade when market is flat in UJ, GU.

I got an easy and fast +21p. Cheers to our friend Tyross for pointing this index for trading !

i tried my first "scoop it" with UJ m15, i dont know if it was correct, but it worked out.

SL was nearly to get hit but lucky outcome;-)

Congratulations Kostas! Very nice M5-M15 setup. I left the M5 aside... I'll have another look at it. It provides fewer opportunities, but it's really clean. I have a spread of 1.2, very stable, between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. It then moves to 1.5 until 10 p.m. Before 9 a.m., it's 3.8. That's a lot. As a reminder for those less familiar with index trading, there is no commission on the Dax, you only pay the spread.

my forex broker gives me a DAX spread of 50 pips or 5.0 during the whole day which is huge.

so if i would trade indices i would look for a broker specialized in index trading.

Yes, that's definitely too high, at least for short-term trading. Up to two points is good.

These GU touch trades used to be regular. Today, you hardly see them anymore.

Friends of mine were in London and were shocked by the explosion in homelessness.
There could be a connection: London's banks no longer have the money they used to, and you can see that in the volatility.
Asia's markets are becoming increasingly important, or rather, that's where the action is.

Indeed, there is a strong confluence of the moving averages with the weekly pivot and the 151.00 level. An exemplary setup.

I agree with you about the sentiment of the London banks. Living in France, I see the purchasing power of the French people and the economy dying because of taxation and crazy regulations. We are actually witnessing a competition to invent new taxes, again! Our politicians are overwhelmed by the magnitude of the problem. Our debt is 1.5$ trillion, and our rating was downgraded twice in one month by the rating agencies. How can one imagine investments in a country that crushes businesses with taxes and duties, and which still wishes to increase the tax burden? All of this distresses me. Kostas could also talk about this; Greece has suffered so much because of its politicians...

A large gap remained open on the Cash. At the 50% Fibonacci level. The Dax will return to it.

Tyross, thanks for the hint. My charts do not have the gaps, I will be checking the Borse site.
I also noticed that my chart levels are different from this. Can you check my chart, a few posts before and tell me how it compares to yours? I think my y axis is +110pips in values.

This is an important subtlety of index trading. An index consists of the Cash (or Spot) price, which corresponds to the stock exchange trading hours, and the Future price, which has longer trading hours.

The most important gaps to trade are those on the Cash index.

WARNING: You must always draw the gaps on your own platform, as there are quotation differences from one CFD broker to another.

I like to display the Cash index on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (using a chart from TradingView) or Investing.com, where the DAX Cash index is shown , unlike on my own broker's platform which only displays the Future price. This is just a personal habit. However, I then redraw these gaps on my MT5 platform by identifying the opening and closing times of the stock market, which is the "Cash" price. Surprisingly, this method is very accurate. These minor quotation differences do not cause any problems.
