- not A+++ , this type of setups has only 40% win rate with R:R 1:3

- but if you are willing to control risk, then go for it.

- just beat-yourself-up if you have to take one two losses today

Hi, once i read somewhare in this thread without one you used to this menthod, without tdi you can trade.

anyway, i am a person who is not succed in trading near a decade , may be a person who cant grasp many things and put it all together. i read post of OP/big E many times but i messed up.
I am sekking a guidelines , i believe there has many like me here but nobody share this.
I found you so helpful in this thread thats why i write to u

There are many who have tried TMS and have given up. I know the reasons why. There are 35 reasons.
And the OP mentioned just one which make the 36th reason why most failed.

When I started retail trading in mid-1980s, I also lost money during the initial 10 years. But I did not give up. I kept on learning knowing that I lack the market knowledge and did not have enough experience. I know the OP @eelfranz aka Big E when he was a subscriber to a well known trading coach in mid-90s. We all learn to trade using naked price charts.

Big E went on and added the Stochastics to his trading. Then further added the TDI from Dean Malone' Synergy trading model.
But the core trading methodology is still based on the original 5-Method price action.

Back then, I added the Moving Averages , MACD, RSI and Stochastics ... that's the COWABUNGA trading system.

Price Action and Support/Resistance trading is simple but requires lots of screen time and practice.
It is practice, practice, practice ... to Deep Practice ... to Deliberate Practice.
This take time. And I can shorten the learning curve for all in this thread on condition you all keep an open mind here.

I can repeat all the stuff I have been posting going way back to 2012.
But to learn fast, you need to post charts when the market is open. Ask questions not matter how basic the question may be. There are no stupid questions but only stupid answers.

Be patient. Be active and participate in live market trading and discussions.

regarding this M5 trade, the member did the correct thing.

1. He noticed the H1 was in consolidation with the big candle and small candles ... post #647. That's a H1 Master Candle. In this instance, there are two consecutive master candles. The second one has double inside bars ... DIB. for some traders.

2. Simple rule from post #647, do not trade when price is in or near consolidation.

What can you trade?

3. Trade in the lower timeframe - M30, M15 and M5 whichever you have more experience and confidence.

4. I prefer M5 for scalping and day-trading under these market conditions.

5. But it is always the same Triple Screen top down analysis which I talked about in the thread going back to 2012.

EXIT STRATEGY

- your trade exit is more important than your entry

- if you take every trade with a minimum risk-to-reward 1 to 2, you will have a statistical EDGE

back to the M5 trade today,

- how did the member exit his trade ? +2R or +3R or +4R ...

I caught these two setups two hours before London session. It was going well, but I quickly get out of the trade thinking things could go wrong.
I really need to build my psychology. I think I have a working strategy now but my psychology is not strong enough.
Also, when I combine TDI with harmonic patterns, the result was great. Currently, I've being protecting my capitals and have been successful doing that, I think I need strong psychology to take this to the next level.

Based on the gold charts you shared, do you have gold open simultaneously on the M5, M15, and H1 timeframes?

That can happen later part of today. So we look for the best A+++ setups.

But at the moment Tokyo 10am it is sell against the Daily Trend 2/8.

We shall see how the market will react to the new Prime Minister. So far it is only a 'knee jerk' reaction.

Weekly is still sideways wide range.

Watch the TOK_5H high-low range.

For those who are swing trading and positions trading,

I always look at the Weekly for all JPY pairs and pick my trading pair according to the market type conditions.

You only need to trade 1 - 2 pairs allocation your risk $amount from your trading margin deposit.

The thread titles can be very misleading for people looking for a trading system in Forex Factory.

@eelfranz' Trading Made Simple aka TMS has a long history going way back to mid-1990s.
His trading is based on the 5-Method back then.
He added components of other systems/methods - Stochastics and TDI.

There are several other threads which are spin-off from this thread. These were started by the early members in this TMS thread and the skype groups back in 2010.

Yes. Once I have selected the pair I want to trade and have prepared my trade plan,

I will have TMS_V19 EA open on H1, M15 and M5. The reason for doing this is the TDI post#25 updates according the the OP' posts and show the slope 'correctly' without re-painting. For this, you can use the @TMSWatchdog indicator in the lower sub-window.

For example, when H1 is in consolidation, I will look for trade setups in the lower timeframes M15 and M5. My preferred timeframe is M5.

The Bill Williams Fractals on chart is to help people see the swing highs and swing lows.
5-bars reversal are easy when you have the fractals on charts.
But, there are other PA setup which are without the fractals,
for example:
1) PCRF 3 bars/candles reversal
2) Engulfing bars/candle
3) Engulfing Outside bars/candles
4) DBHLC and DBLHC

Note, the OP setup candle APB/HA candle#2 entries mostly have the fractals printed.

The key is to know the 5bars/candles swing high and swing low, bars/candle 1, 2 and 3 are important.
Only trade when the high or low of bar1 shows a breakout.

If the bars 1,2 and 3 are very wide range, then the setup for entry would be different. Example would be 4 PA setup mentioned above.

- look left,.. there is the swing low candle1 high ... that Asian session high
