If I want to summarize Ichimoku, it's a balance within ranges.
Is this balance maintained across past, present, future ranges?
How do the components of Ichimoku behave within these ranges?
If you truly understand this concept, I don’t think you’ll need any other topics.
Then, you’ll arrive at a clear pattern — or better said, a consistent behavior that repeats continuously — which you can trade based on.
It can truly bring you high profitability.

I think this topic was mentioned by one of our friends. Today, I saw it on the Gold M1 chart & thought I'd explain it to you with an example. This happens often on Gold's M1 & can push the price back toward the Kumo cloud.
I marked the market's starting point on the chart. The yellow lines represent Senkou Span A, and you can see there's a significant gap between it & the price. Price usually fills this gap.
This usually happens when price breaks through a large cloud. Since volatility & momentum are high, a gap forms, which usually gets filled before price continues on its path.
Check it on the chart. This is not a trade suggestion.

Thank you Tyross I'm truly grateful to have met such good people with beautiful souls here on FF.

Ichimoku is a truly fascinating indicator. The distance between its components, their order (or lack thereof)... each of them shows balance and imbalance. That's the whole game.
The content is really disorganized right now. I'll try to put it all into a PDF later so it's less confusing. sometimes I see something on the chart & remember a topic... I want to explain right then bc I know if I don't post it, I'll definitely forget to mention it later.

Today I want to add a new parameter to Ichimoku. After introducing it, we can discuss which crossovers are strong & which Tenkan-Kijun crosses are weak. I mentioned earlier in the crossover section that I would talk about which crossovers are reliable & which can be weak.
Honestly, I changed Ichimoku's parameters based on a mathematical relationship I discovered. For me, the balance point & line are different numbers, my entries are faster. But even with the default Ichimoku settings, you can still progress well with this concept.

The Hidden Line (Equilibrium-Balance) in Ichimoku:

This parameter is essentially the midpoint between 26 & 9, we'll use it to analyze balance within Ichimoku more deeply... the parameter 17, obtained by subtracting 9 from 26.
Span A = (Tenkan + Kijun)/2 = 17.5 ( 17~18 )
Kijun - Tenkan = 17
It represents the "gap" or "tension" between the short-term & medium-term equilibrium. If 9 is short-term fair value & 26 is medium-term fair value, then the 17-period midpoint can be seen as the "true median equilibrium" or the "fulcrum" between these two forces.

For now, our starting point for analysis is the first close on the Tenkan Sen... We'll use this point to discuss various topics for analysis. I've already talked about what kind of close on the Tenkan Sen is important and valid.

Before we go deeper into the topic of balance, I want to give a short explanation about what all averaging indicators basically do.
Indicators that work with averages, like Ichimoku, take the average of past and future price ranges. This helps show whether the past value has become lower or higher compared to the future value.
In the image, you can see boxes showing the average of the last 17 periods & its average line, the next 17 periods are also averaged & shown in pink. The past values are lower than the future ones, which suggests the market may keep moving upward. This change between past & future values is already shown through Ichimoku’s parameters.
Remember, in this image only one 17-period range is averaged. But Ichimoku keeps averaging ranges continuously, which makes it more accurate.
In the next image, you can see that the 17-period equilibrium line shows higher future values compared to the past. This means a drop in this area is unlikely, the price will probably rise more.

The new parameter I mentioned in the previous post is actually Span A. It’s slightly different because Span A equals 17.5, but since we can’t show 0.5 values on the chart, we have to round it. I mentioned this to highlight how important the Spans & the number 17 are. The Spans are not just simple cloud shapes — you should look deeper into how Ichimoku really works.
The chart always shows the balance and equilibrium value 26 periods ahead!!!!

I believe the number 17 is a very key & golden number in Ichimoku.
It’s especially important in the Spans, because it’s almost the center point between them.
Span A = 17 ~ 18
Span B = 52

The distance between Span A & Span B = | 17-52 | = 35
The midpoint of this distance = 35 ÷ 2 = 17 .5

When this center breaks, a new trend may begin — one that can continue from the close above the Tenkan line. If a cross happens between Tenkan & Kijun, or if price closes above Tenkan, and then manages to break through the 17 range in the Spans, it usually means the price can keep trending in the same direction. Sometimes the price just reaches the 17 level, closes there, & then reverses. Both behaviors around this point of balance need to be studied.
I suggest carefully watching where this 17 range is — whether it’s in the past, present, or future Spans.
Most of the time, I don’t wait for the 17 break. When the price closes above the Tenkan line, I take the trade because the Spans show a consistent reaction around this level on all timeframes.
(In the charts below, I've set the zero & starting point at the close on the Tenkan — as I mentioned before, this will be our starting point for calculations & analysis for now. I went 17 periods ahead from there & drew a line at its value on the Spans)

Hint: Sometimes, when the price is stuck moving sideways in a range, it's better to wait for all Ichimoku components to cross the previous Span. This tip can save you from confusion & price noise, especially on lower timeframes. I think I've mentioned this before

According to the principles mentioned, the timeframe doesn't matter. It works in every timeframe. Although I always keep the H1 in mind, most of my trades are on the M5

Your idea of summarizing your thoughts in a PDF is excellent and will help a lot of people. We always read the same things about Ichimoku, with authors copying one another. Your approach is different, for once.

Yeah, I used to really hate it when, during lessons, people would say things like “one plus two equals three.” I always had to ask, why? What’s the reason? What’s the logic behind it? When I first started learning Ichimoku with a friend, he eventually got tired of all my questions & thought I was being obsessively perfectionist(Though, I really didn't know I was a perfectionist back then either)
But after a long time, I can confidently say that my understanding of Ichimoku is now far deeper than his view of the chart
Simple answers just don’t satisfy me — everything has to make mathematical sense.
Actually, my grasp of Ichimoku goes back to the long period I spent studying moving averages.
Back then, I used to manually calculate each component’s average myself & did a lot of detailed work. I also spend a lot of time thinking about what topics should be explained first and how to structure it all.
Anyway, I really appreciate your friendly conversation
I’ve already shared the essence — the true core of Ichimoku. All it takes is a bit of attention to how the Span above price relates to the future, and everything becomes perfectly clear.

Some time ago, I found a list of numbers (9-17-26-33-42-65-76-129-172-265...) that are supposed to represent Ichimoku reversal points.
Do you know what they are, and if so, how to use them?

My time numbers are a bit different from yours, my wave counting starting point is also a parameter I haven't discussed yet. I hope we can reach the topic of time analysis one day, I'll definitely explain it then... It actually starts from half of the base number 26

I missed the first EN… I was about to post that the reversal had started. The second point didn’t trigger either bc of the spread (It’s not 7, it’s 17.I wrote it wrong & have clarified it.) Anyway, I just wanted to show how you can enter like this.
I understand 85-90% of the time where the market will turn, it’s solely bc of the relationship between the Ichimoku components. It’s not magic, it’s simple — you just need to look at it more carefully
