What a lovely day here in the UK.

It’s misty /foggy /cloudy outside, but there’s a little sunshine inside me today.

A year ago, I decided to step into Forex trading. Instead of risking my own limited funds, I chose the prop firm route.

Last night, I passed my second verification, and my third account is still running.

It has been a long and demanding journey, days and nights of hard work, pushing through health challenges, but today I can finally say the results are here.

The greatest challenge was staying consistent and protecting capital. I disciplined myself to use a maximum risk of just 0.25% per trade. Looking back, that means

I’ve generated around $30,000 for Prop Firm (15-Feb-2025 to 30-Sep-2025, across 361 trades).
I passed first verrification on Sept 02, 2025 and Second verification was passed on October 01, 2025
The third account is still in the challenge stage, but I’m letting it run steady and calm (As i need to slow down before if collapse)

In the beginning, I relied on:
Bill Williams Alligator (15%) (Alligator & Fractals)
Trading Made Simple (25) By Robinhood
After that I found Golden Cross Trading Idea Thread
Small Wick by George (20%)
Golden Cross by George (40%)

And here, I must pause to give special praise and gratitude to George aka SwingMan. George’s generosity in sharing his work publicly, his patience in answering countless queries, and his detailed explanations of trading concepts have been nothing short of inspiring. He has already explained so much to previous members, yet he continues to guide and support with sincerity and clarity.

For me, George has been more than just a contributor to this thread, he is a true light for me on this journey. Without his shared wisdom here in the thread, I would not be standing here with these results.

Every single trade I took was manual. I never used automation or EAs. I set TP & SL (set and forget), and sometimes I closed trades manually when I was at the screen. I didn’t even properly use trailing stops to ride trends.

I strongly believe in the Japanese concept of KAIZEN (continuous improvement). I know I don’t have deep knowledge of Forex yet, and I had no prior coding/programming background. So whenever I get time, I keep learning and bridging my gaps step by step. (I am focusing of Fractals also)

I also believe in sharing knowledge. When you share and discuss, you end up learning even more yourself. I see it like a TEAM effort, or a flock of birds flying in a V formation, each supporting the other, making the journey faster and easier.

That’s why I try to help where I can, and I will continue to do so (subject to my health and time). George has already shared everything openly in this thread. Careful reading and re-reading of his posts is enough to understand most concepts. But for those still unclear, I will gladly support wherever I can. (But please before asking query, read the thread as its only 35 pages)

I’m sharing this to encourage new members visiting this thread:

If you set your goals, and keep inching toward them day after day, you will reach your destination. It takes time, but with consistency, repetition, and sincerity, dreams do come true.

One of those dreams for me is the YACHT George once mentioned in his post. If my health permits and I am still here, I truly believe I will achieve it one day.

New members please:
Test the method/system.
Trust it.
Apply strict money management.
Always protect capital and stay within limits.

Once again, thank you GEORGE. Your selfless contribution to this thread, and to the wider FF community, is making a real difference in people’s lives, including mine.

May I bring your attention to one of the major differences between BW`s books and his course: In his course he stresses the importance of avoiding stress and fear from trading. He explains to start a trading session not without a 10-15 minute meditation according to the `"Autogenic Training" method, which teaches control of breath, pulse, muscle tension and heart rate.

many years ago, when we were young (around 60...), I mentioned Osho's clapping with one hand in a forum.
Regarding your meditation recommendation, I can still cite this Koan today!

"Clapping with one hand" refers to a famous Zen Buddhist Koan by Hakuin Ekaku:
"What is the clapping of one hand?"
The question aims to transcend the intellect and facilitate an experience of enlightenment (Satori) by addressing a paradoxical state in which one must find an answer not through reflection but through deeper insight.
The Koan is a mental exercise to demonstrate that we need each other, and without the other hand, there is no clapping.

It is really wonderful to see senior members posting here again.

George, your words and experience means a lot, not only to me, but also to many who quietly read and learn from your posts. There are many members, like myself, who are waiting eagerly to learn from the knowledge, wisdom, and amazing tools that you have shared and continue to improve.

Your reminder about Hakuin Ekaku's most famous Zen Koan What is the clapping of one hand? was very powerful.
As you explained, it is not about finding a logical answer, but about seeing a deeper truth, one hand alone cannot clap. In the same way, one person alone can only go so far, but when we work together and support each other, the journey becomes smoother, easier, and more meaningful. This really touched me, and I believe it reflects the true spirit of this thread and FF community.

George, your participation, like it was just a few months ago, would be greatly appreciated. Even if sometimes it feels like only one or two people are posting, please know that many are following quietly and learning from your every word. I am sure that further enhancements / automation could really take the Golden Cross Trading concept to the next level and develop futeh rinterest in your method.

The same goes for you, Forex37, and all the other senior members who have shared so much over the years. Your guidance, encouragement, and patience help new traders like me avoid mistakes and understand the deeper side of trading, not just the charts and tools.

To all the new members, please don’t hesitate to ask questions, share your thoughts, and learn actively. Every journey starts with small steps, and this community becomes stronger when everyone participates, both seniors and newcomers together.

Dear Alade,
I will try to explain as per my understanding, and I hope that George will kindly correct me if I say anything wrong. I am also still learning and may make mistakes.
If you are trading on H4, then your higher timeframes will be D1 and W1. Try not to trade against the direction of these. The best entries are usually found when both D1 and W1 are long, and a bullish MA5 crossover happens on H4, confirmed with the smGoldenCrossSlope_2.1.

Please make sure you are using the latest indicator versions especially smGoldenCrossSignals_8.3

On your USDCAD chart, you need to refresh the chart. This will reset the numbers (1,2,3,4,5,6). They should stop at 6 and then restart from 1 when a new high or low forms. I have already pointed this out to George (hopefully, when health and time permit, he will update it). I also tested an auto-refresh, but later stopped using it as it was generating the same signals with the Autorefresh interval.

The best way is to download the latest files, indicators, and templates I uploaded here, which will make setup much easier

As I also trade H4, I have added another instance of smGoldenCrossTrend_2.1 and set the MA to 30. This shows me the D1 MA(5). If you check, you’ll notice the background color matches the MA30 line.

Also, pay attention to the information in the top left corner by smGoldCrossTend2.2 indicator and thoroughly study.

When taking trades, look at the Slope indicator. For a buy, there should be an UP Arrow and ideally trade should be within first three dark green bars once arrow is generated. After that, the chances are smaller to catch a high probability trade.

For better understanding the indictaors try exploring them one by one and set all the boolean parameters to true on eby one to see what chnages on the chart when chnaging the vaue to true. You can also hover the cursor to read the information, alternativley Crrl+D (Data Window ) information displayed for better understanding of the indicator values.

When posting chart try to post the complate chart File>Save As Picture> Active Chart (as is), as it will display the complete chart and can be analyzed better.

About the smLazyhedging ChannelOsc_v3.0
I think originally it was an idea by Jake Bernstein 10/8 MA which George has coded into an wonderful gem and shared selflessy in many threads.

This is what I have done to better understand this indicator
Open a clean chart.
Add SMA 10 (High, shift 1) and SMA 8 (Low, shift 1).
Then add the smLazyhedging ChannelOsc_v3.0.
You will see the channel on the main chart and histogram bars in the lower window try to observe, I mainy use to getiinthe channel width and Half Channel width.(When you have read the thread few times with the emphasis on George post's you will undertand the concept more)

When I first joined FF, I landed on Trading Made Simple by BigE. But with more than 7,500 pages and conflicts between members (despite Emmanuel’s best efforts), it was too much for me.

Later, I found Trading Made Simple(r), I liked that thread a lot and the way Robinhood explains especilly to the beginners (he is very knowledgebale and humble personality) I traded iit for quite some time with good results. While studying Robinhood’s posts there, I came across a Dashboard made by George , which really clicked me .

Since I don’t have time to watch 28 pairs (because of job and health issues), the Dashboard concept gave me hope. Instead of monitoring everything, I could just watch the dashboard to screen pairs. That’s when I explored SwingMan’s posts more and discovered that George had shared so much not only in the TMS(r) thread buy have also automated many ideas of the members and later he started his own Golden Cross Trading Idea thread. Luckily, when I started there were onky 22 pages, so I could read everything. I’ve gone through it many times, asked questions, and thankfully George has always replied when health and time allowed.

To speed up my learning and to deeply understand the indicators I even used M5/M30 as a smaller simulation of H4/D1, this really helped me understand the parameters of the indicators better.

I encourage you and other new members to keep on reading the whole thread patiently few times. There is a lot to learn, but it gets easier as you practice.

Hello Members,

This weekend, I decided to dig further into smLazyHedging_ChannelOsc_v3.0 to strengthen my understanding and clarify a few key concepts.

The values from this indicator play an important role in calculating the Predicted Entry Price, one of the key elements of George’s Golden Cross Method.

Even if we don’t directly use the Range and Half Range values displayed by smLazyHedging_ChannelOsc_v3.0, these are still computed internally and shown by smGoldenCrossSignals_v8.3 in the top left corner of the chart.

For the benefit of members who have started using this system (@toosin_alade), it’s worth noting that the main indicators of the Golden Cross Method are
smGoldenCrossSignals_v8.3
smGoldenCrossTrend_v2.2

Other indicators such as smGoldenCrossSlope_v2.1, GoldenCross DF-DonchianFiboV2.16, and smLazyHedging_ChannelOsc_v3.0 are helper indicators that refine the logic further and identify the best possible setups.

George’s ability to design these complementary tools to work seamlessly together is remarkable, every component contributes to the overall precision and consistency of the system.

If you explore the internal logic of the Channel Oscillator, you’ll notice that George has used this concept in several of his earlier methods. It’s a key piece of his broader analytical framework and has also been thoughtfully incorporated into the Golden Cross system.

Even if we remove the Channel Oscillator from chart, its information remains available through the smGoldenCrossSignals_v8.3 indicator.
However, when its combined with the Slope indicator, the confirmations become even clearer, helping to refine entries with greater accuracy, a brilliant piece of design by George.

During today’s exploration, I noticed again how elegantly the histogram colors in the Channel Oscillator reflect the trend direction. Personally, I use it mainly to observe the Half Range value, which is also vital for computing the Predicted Entry Price.

The histogram color changes from Coral to SeaGreen when both the Open and Close of a candle are above the upper channel (SMA 10 High, Shift 1) and the color changes from SeaGreen to Coral when both the Open and Close are below the lower channel (SMA 8 Low, Shift 1).
Even on its own, smLazyHedging_ChannelOsc_v3.0 can serve as a powerful standalone strategy for identifying long or short opportunities.

George has generously shared previous veriosn of the indicator here.

To fully grasp the Golden Cross Method, it’s essential to first understand the basics, how moving averages are calculated, and how MA crossovers occur. During a crossover, both MAs share the same value, that’s the key foundation. Once this concept is clear, it becomes much easier to move into advanced topics such as the Predicted Close and Predicted Entry Price. At any given candle, all the necessary values are available to compute the Predicted Close using a 5 LWMA (of Open and Close).

Today, I manually recalculated these values and compared them with the indicator’s output, they matched perfectly. It was a great moment of satisfaction and reassurance that I’m following the right logic, and that my understanding of George’s methodology remains consistent.

As George has mentioned in the thread few times , if members truly grasp the concept of calculating the Predicted Close at the point of crossover, it will open the door to a much deeper understanding of the entire Golden Cross Method.

For anyone starting out, I’d recommend beginning with Simple Moving Averages (SMA). Once you’re comfortable with that, you can move on to LWMA, the same concept applies, but with added weight on recent prices.

There’s a wealth of valuable information shared by George throughout this thread. The more you study it, the easier it becomes to appreciate the core principles and foundation upon which such a powerful and elegant trading system is built.

I still remember my very first post on May 21, 2025, and your detailed reply back on May 22, 2025 , along with the chart you shared to help me learn the basic PA setups. It’s inspiring to see how consistently you’ve continued helping new members to understand the same principles today.

BigE’s (RIP) thread is still alive because of your constant efforts, without your dedication, it might have faded long ago. You’ve not only preserved the essence of the system but have also continuously improved and automated it over time for your ease.

I came across a few of your older posts in this thread back in 2023, where you compared 5LWMA (Close, Shift 0) with 5EMA (Typical, Shift +2), those insights were very helpful, but you have not posted much after that.

Now that some senior and experienced members occasionally visit this Golden Cross thread, I truly believe this wonderful system could reach its full potential with more participation. I’m doing my best to contribute, but it still feels like the system’s real power isn’t fully demonstrated yet.

So, I request you to also visit this thread when possible, share your findings, post charts, and provide your valuable feedback on the Golden Cross system. Your experience and input would be incredibly helpful for us beginners, and I’m sure it would also motivate George to further enhance these indicators, for the benefit of all.

Dear Members,

I had a day off from work today so was a a bit free.

These are the last screenshots of my account positions that I’ll be sharing. No one asked me to post them , I’m sharing purely to demonstrate the power of Golden Cross Method by George, the importance of continuous learning, and what can be achieved through consistency, determination, and by following the right person. Every thing required to use this method i.e indicators, template , guidance etc is already there in these 35 pages of this thread.

From now on, I won’t be posting or sharing my personal trading details again. It might appear as if I’m boasting, which is not my intention at all. My only purpose is to give back in some way to this wonderful thread, which has helped me grow to where I am today. (It’s still a long journey before I can afford that YACTH as mentioned by George)

While George has started many other threads and systems, all of them tried and tested more than the Golden Cross, due to time constraints and some personal & health challenges, I’ve only been able to focus on testing and implementing the Golden Cross and Small Wick methods on the H4/D1 timeframes.

Alongside this, I’ve also been studying Alligator & Fractals whenever I get the time.

Looking back, everything I’ve achieved so far has been through manual trading only, no automation, no EAs, no trailing stops, just simple fixed TPs and SLs. I’ve made many mistakes along the way (as everyone does), but the key has been to learn from them and make sure not to repeat them.

Please dont follow me blindly, what ever I have writen is my personal interpretation of the George's Golden Cross Method. George's post weigh much more than mine. I know I’m not perfect, and I’m certainly not an experienced trader.

What I am trying to explain here
If I’ve been able to achieve this progress in just less than six months, I truly believe that many others can do it too. What I have learned is Forex is not a Get Rich Quick scheme, it demands consistency, proper mindset, risk control and money management..........

The biggest challenges are Greed and Fear, they can destroy an account faster than any bad setup. Whether it’s not cutting a losing trade or closing a winning one too early, emotions play a huge role in our trading decisions. This is why automated trading systems often perform well, they simply follow the rules without emotion. One of the biggest reason I am tilted more towards automation to take the emotions out.

Let’s keep this spirit alive by learning, sharing, and supporting one another. I request every member, whether new or senior/experienced, to join in and contribute to this wonderful thread. Your participation and feedback can make this thread an even greater place to learn and succeed.

Before leaving for the office, here’s an update on my XAGUSD trade that is still running.

I wanted to share how this trade perfectly demonstrates the power of the Golden Cross Method, the triple Screen Method, using higher time frames and most importantly, the power of learning and consistent practice.

I am only using the latest versions of indicators from this thread (Screenshot attached)

At the moment, XAGUSD still seems to be a laggard compared to XAUUSD. With Gold making new highs almost every day, I’m confident that my hard TP of 49.00 will eventually be reached, and will be out of the trade with gains.

XAGUSD has given multiple opportunities to reenter the market , I have marked with the dotted lines and this is actually the first time I’ve held a trade for such a long period. Normally, I’m out of the trade done within 4 to 5 days.

I still consider myself an amateur, and there’s so much more to learn, especially from our senior and experienced members.

Things like adding to winning positions (instead of the usual habit of adding to losing ones for DCA) and practicing proper money management are key lessons I’m continuously trying to master. The most importnat is the AUTOMATION of this Golden CRoss Method.

Trade Update: XAGUSD
Power of Golden Cross Method
I increased TP from 49.00 to 50.00 (set and forget) as I was of the view that it will just touch 50.00 as its round number and will revert back.

I was out from the trade at 50.00 and it made a high 51.243 and now back to 50.00 levels again, will wait for it to cool off before looking at it again.

This trade was held for approx 11 days, much better than intra day trading where I have to continouly monitor.

Can you help me understand how to get the blue scale line you mention in your post 459? What indicator creates it? Thanks in advance.

smGoldenCross_TrendMTF_v5.1.ex4


This stair case indicator displays the higher timeframe (HTF) values, which can also be shown in the top-left corner of the chart when using the latest smGoldenCross_Trend_v2.2.

The blue staircase line represents the forecasted values of HTF (for example, D1) which can be used as a support level plotted on a lower timeframe (like H4).

In the chart I have posted above the value 3987.17, that value is plotted by the staircase line. If you hover your mouse over it, you’ll see the exact price level.
You’ll also notice the same value in the chart’s top-left corner:
D1: LONG C <= 3987.17

Both indictaors display the same information, it just depends how you prefer to view and use it.

I like to emphasize one thinh gthat helped mea lot is to open Data Window (Ctrl+D) and observe the values of the indicators on the bars

My suggestion is to first focus on understanding the concept using these two main indicators
smGoldenCross_Signals_v8.3
smGoldenCross_Trend_v2.2

Once you’re fully comfortable with what each input parameter of the indicator is doing , how the indicator behave on the chart, and what the displayed values represent, you can then start adding other supporting indicators to strengthen the strategy and refine your understanding.
