Banda,no problem acutally it is "dziekuje" <lol> but it almost sound the same and "Zapazeba" = "spasiba" is Russian "thank you"

You even have midpoints which are sometimes useful

I also don't have exactly the same pivot points but differences are only 2 pips up or down so it is not big deal

I think i messed everything up... The chart is set at -0500 (ET) timezone and the figures i got for Aug 11 is
Close- 118.32
High- 118.48
Low- 118.18
Open- 118.34

Pivots would be?

R3- 119.23
R2- 118.93
R1- 118.63

DP- 118.33
CP- 118.32

SI- 118.17
S2- 118.03
S3- 117.43

i definitely dont think i got it right though. i think most uses metatrader but i don't want to have to open another account just so i can use that. Any suggestions? And suggestions for good forex books/resources too?

Ok fast reply because I have to go sleep (it is 3:00 AM here in Poland .... fortunately I have vacation

I don't know where did you get these numbers but it seems that they from .... hmm maybe 15 min chart,1 hour chart ? nevermind

You have to pick Friday's [DAILY] OPEN,HIGH and LOW and SUNDAY'S OPEN (17:00 ET) to calculate PIVOTS for MONDAY

Central is SUNDAY'S OPEN

If anyone got into a long on this I suggest to take profit while you still can because the daily trend had change from an up to a down at 21:00 ET plus you have the weekly central pivot there at the 118.35.

Quick help please... Friday's hi- 118.74; low-117.22; open-117.93
Sunday's close- 118.25. New candle (for CentralPivot)- 118.35

sorry... am on the other side of the world and m still trying to figure these things out. better ask stupid questions now than make stupid mistakes later, i think

I don't see a big move down - if only temporarily with a good opportunity to short yen on dip. We are at the lower trendline on both monthly and weekly. Plus, the interest rate on yen is likely to remain nonexistent.

I agree, daily looks down, and I don't expect for yen to start falling overnight. But 117.50 is as low as it can get based on weekly and monthly trendlines as well as fundamental rate differentials. When the "risk aversion" speculation wears off who would need to invest in zero-interest yen? Although, USD will be the slowest currency to gain pips against yen.

Interesting - you don't think that a candle can't bust through a trend line..... The 117.20 is the hard-core for right now plus you got two pivots before it gets there..... 117.35 and 117.14.

I think it would take more serious fundamental news to break such a strong trendline. That is, technical and fundamental factors have to play together, imho.

I don't know where you're getting your info at but it is wrong..... Since the 26th of July it has busted that trend every day since..... Plus, on two different occasions, the 6th and 10th of this month, it hit the 117.20.....

No - I'm talking about the S1's - For today's S1 is 117.35 and the weekly is just below the 117.20 which is 117.14...

USDJPY

USDJPY is in consolidation to the down trend. further fall below 117.15 previous low to reach the next cycle bottom on 4 hours chart is still possible in a couple of days. Near term resistance is at the price channel and key resistance is at 119.80, a break above this key resistance will signal the reversal to the down trend.

One thing I forgot to mention is how the weekly central pivot is found and that is on your 15:30 ET candle on Sunday, which is the time that the market opens for the week..... and if you do not get a 15:30 candle on any of your charts then there is nothing can be done to find it.
