USD/JPY remains in a bullish trend on both 1H and 4H. Ideal entry is to buy the dip at 146.70–146.80 or on a confirmed breakout above 147.00.

  1. Entry: Buy on a clean 1H candle close above 147.00.
  2. Confirmation: The breakout should not be a single spike, but a strong bullish candle with volume or follow-through.
  3. Stop Loss: Place below the breakout candle or at 146.60.
  4. Take Profit: Next resistance area (147.30–147.50), consider trailing stop if it trends higher.

Based on sound analysis, USDJPY is set to go up to at least 153.000. It will dance its way up there in the coming weeks. Afterwards, I'll evaluate again. Trade accordingly.

Strength meter indicates further bearish momentum.
Market Context:
Price has recently lost upside momentum after a strong bullish run up to the 147.00 area. We're now seeing the market correct and form lower highs and lower lows in the short term. There's a visible bearish structure with the current price near 145.88–145.92.
Momentum & Price Action:
Both timeframes show a clear short-term downtrend. Candles are closing lower, and the previous strong support at 146.00 has been broken and is now acting as resistance. Price keeps getting rejected below that area and sellers are in control at the moment.
Sniper Entry:
For a high-probability entry, look for a pullback/retest toward the 146.00–146.10 zone. If price rejects this level with a bearish engulfing or pin bar candle, that's your confirmation to enter short with a tight stop above 146.15.
Targets:

  1. TP1: 145.50 (recent swing low/support zone)
  2. TP2: 145.20 (extension of the down move)

Risk Management:

  1. Place stops just above 146.15 to keep your risk tight (about 20–25 pips).
  2. Risk no more than 1–2% of your account per trade.
  3. If price cleanly breaks above 146.20, exit the trade as the setup is invalidated.

Ok .. well with every opinion ... there's a counter opinion - that's the wonder of trading . I can follow whoever I choose, doesn't mean I don't have a mind of my own.

Look at this chart for recent price action. The way I see it is that recently, every time there is a pull away from the orange, red or white MA, the price tends to drift back to the MA. Will it happen this time IDK .. but if you correlate with EUR/JPY and GBP/JPY this suggests a correction may be due.

USDJPY, EURJPY and GBPJPY are only correlated via JPY strength. Other than that, USDJPY moves pretty independently of EURJPY and GBPJPY.

Im new to this thread but been trading a long time, tired of trying to trade with the bots on EUR/USD.

I agree with your assessment. In fact short from 146.418 looking at 145.8 area for TP but may stall out around 146.1. Also, on your H4 chart you can see the bearish setup. The correlation for the pair in fact does not track well with other crosses but it does correlate well with DXY. DXY had a strong run this AM and usually falls off toward market close when this happens. Again, just my opinion.
Why go long...When you can go short!
