Before I answer you, which are you asking about: Scalping, day trading, swing trading or investing for the long term as they all have different answers and I don't want to spend the time and effort to answer all 4 if I don't need to.

Regarding how I choose stocks to day trade...

CURRENTLY, there are 2 main ways that I day trade stocks.

One way is; I have a list of 7 stocks that I day trade the most often. They are: PLTR, NVDA, AMD, APPL, GOOG, AMZN and IOVA.

And of them, MOST often, I day trade PLTR, NVDA & AMD the most.

These 3 stocks often move somewhat together in similar ways/directions and there is typically a "leader". I like to trade one or both of the "followers" as the leader often gives me hints as to what the other 2 "may" do before they do it as they are "following the leader". Also, I only trade Continuation Trades (based on moving averages) when day trading AND I use the RSO (RobinHood Stochastics Oscillator) in conjunction with the ema's, some volatility stops and the RoadMap.

I have 6 charts that I am watching today. In the image below, you will see NVDA on 4 of the charts because it's the only stock that I have day traded so far today.

This is how my charts are set-up today:

PLTR - 3 Min. | NVDA - 3 min. | AMD - 3 min.
NVDA - 2 Min. | NVDA - 5 Min. | NVDA - 15 Min.

The second way, but much less often I trade stocks that are "up" the largest % for the day and I ONLY take "Continuation Trades" Long.

I have a very long list of stocks on different "Watchlists" that I created and I include a column that I created called: % Change.

That's how I find those stocks to day trade.

As far as time frames; At the beginning of the day and for every stock I day trade, I look at all of the time frames below.

Monthly --> Weekly --> Daily --> 1 Hour --> 10 or 15 min. --> 5 min. --> 2/3min.

I most often take my trades off of a 2 or 3 min. chart.

I don't trade cryptos' and never have at all because of "income tax rules" that we have here in the U.S.

I just wanted to share a small personal milestone with you all.

Since June 6, 2025, I’ve completed these 4 trades on live real account using the Robinhood method, and the results have been awesome.

All credit goes to @Robinhood. I honestly don’t have enough words to thank you for so generously sharing your methods and insights. Your work has completely changed the way I approach the markets.

I’m fully aware that I still have a long journey ahead, these few trades in the last couple of days are just the beginning. I know I need much more practice and dedicated time, which isn’t always easy for me due to work and family commitments. However, I’m committed to improving my consistency and, most importantly, developing the right trading psychology. The good thing is that by trading on the H4/D1 timeframes, I’ve been able to manage even with my limited screen time, otherwise, I was constantly procrastinating because I felt I didn’t have enough time.

Also, a heartfelt thanks to the selfless and talented @Swingman (George) for creating those amazing indicators based on Robinhood’s ideas. They have saved me so much time and made the tarding process process smoother, especially helpful for a "lazy" trader like me.

Much respect and gratitude to both of you.

@RobinHood, I see that you use very low TF for day trading but it is not bad. Normaly for stock, I'm trying to use M15/M30. In that case could you advise what TF do you use for Forex where market is almost 24h open?

Using the 15/30 min is a good combo, but I've come to realize that it's just too slow for my "personality". If I was you, I might consider using the 15 min. and the 1Hr.

I like my longer time frame to be 3-6 times what my shorter time frame is.

Here's why...for example: The Monthly is about 4 x the Weekly. The Weekly is 5 x the Daily. The Daily is 6 x the 4Hr. The 4Hr. is 4 x the Hourly.

Typically I use the 5 min. on MT4 for day trading the Forex, but only because I don't like using the 1 min. and the 2 and 3 min. are not available to me.

Yes, I started with Template #1 from Post #1.

I kept reading through Robinhood’s important posts and followed along by adding and removing indicators as he did throughout the thread.

Of course, there’s a lot of information to absorb, especially for a beginner like me in a short span of time. At one point, I felt overwhelmed, so I decided to pause, go back to Post #1, and stick with Template #1 for simplicity and clarity until I fully understand the concept.

Now, I plan to gradually start using some of the latest Golden gems (indicators and templates) shared by Robinhood & Swigman.

I normally open three charts of the same pair, on H4, D1, and W1, to help me get a better multi timeframe, long-term view.

I execute the trade with a fixed SL and TP, and I don’t change or look back. It either hits SL or TP. Honestly, I’m not sure if it was just luck or if I picked good setups, but all my trades so far have ended in profit, with each one hitting TP.

I know that I need to work a lot on my exits as they are much more important than the entries.

The Starfish Parable

Once upon a time, there was an old man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach every morning before he began his work. Early one morning, he was walking along the shore after a big storm had passed and found the vast beach littered with starfish for as far as the eye could see stretching in both directions.

Off in the distance, the old man noticed a small boy approaching. As the boy walked, he paused every so often and as he grew closer, the man could see that he was occasionally bending down to pick up an object and throw it into the sea. The boy came closer still and the man called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”

The young boy paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up onto the beach and they can’t return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When the sun gets high, they will die unless I throw them back into the water.”

The old man replied, “But there must be tens of thousands of starfish on this beach. I’m afraid you won’t really be able to make much of a difference.”

You have certainly made a difference in my trading journey RH.
I cant thank you enough for your knowledge and the system you've shared so freely (and continue to do so).

I have constantly re-iterated that the system works if you put the effort and time into it.

I am sharing the below profit screenshot only because i want to show all that this method is profitable (consistently).

Can I call myself a profitable trader?

Got two back to back this morning right when I walked into work.
I check the charts when I clock in before my shift. Usually just to see what the markets doing
Felt like it was a good opportunity with elevated volume. Took the trade.
BARELY hit take profit. Lol couldn't have gotten any closer than that to a 1:2.
Immediately after I got another alert. I really liked the 3 bar reversal of HK at the bottom of that selloff so I took the trade. Assuming if I got stopped out I'd still be in profits from the previous trade. Hit take profit on that with ease after a minor pull back that I almost exited on. Typically I would have exited if RSI would have continued downward(or if both stochs cross 50), but price was falling and rsi stayed relatively flat and second Stock just kissed the center, so I stayed in. Luckily it was a minor pull back and the continuation by my take profit.
Haven't taken another trade yet as I have an interview for a new position today and I'd much rather go in there feeling good.
Done for the day unless the New York closing push gives me a decent signal.


P.s. This strategy works very well. I backtested this strategy using a self coded xGboost ML bot. Over 800,000 iterations over the last two years of data. The bot successfully pulled out a win rate of 86% using these parameters and nothing else. Trying to figure out how to pull the data to see exactly what iteration was so successful and how it was using these indicators.
Side note, adding a Z value of volume turned those percentages into 91%. Don't know how yet. Will share my findings at a later date.

Anyways, good luck to y'all today! Markets are fun given the terrible world we are living in currently.

anyways, took this countertrend trade and it was successful, i came 64 pips late but still able to catch 2.5R, im happy with that.

Price action confirmed an inside bars breakout, currency strength meter (from another system) gave the signal. Now RSO will be responsible of showing a continuation trade. Im going to wait until FOMC news tomorrow.
