Start at the beginning with template #1.
That's where I first started with and master trading with that template.
Then as you progress through the pages, you can add the smTMSS Oscillator. Spen more time to learn how these two templates and oscillators work.
You can pick very good trades when you start with top down analysis - Weekly , Daily , then the H4.
You can add the RHO Pro 4 and learn how this indicator work and will help you pick trades.

Take your time trading in realtime market and learn to build confidence.

I see different members here add other stuff as filter, etc.
You don't really need any of those filter, etc.
You need confidence and that can only come from your own trading experience.

This thread is more than templates and screenshots, it is one of the few which encourages exchange of perspectives

However the Rho-Pro 6 is available and definitely better. Also, the APB with ON/OFF (shared recently) is a useful indicator as you can check the actual candle to see for any contradictory movement.

Due to some extenuating circumstances, I have not had the time to post here for a good while, BUT I do visit this thread nearly every day, and I do read every post. I apologize to the Posters who have asked me for help/advice/explanations/etc. both in this thread and in Private Messages for not replying but now know you sort of know why.

I want everyone to know how much I truly appreciate all of the kind words that numerous people have written here about me. I really do appreciate it. It's WHY I keep posting.

Moving on...

Regarding what I posted on Page 1, Post # 1., that was 6+ years ago. Who here has not grown or changed in the last 6+ years? I am no different. But I want to explain is WHY I change and/or add or subtract indicators and templates.

What almost no one here knows about me is that I am an professional inventor. I have invented/designed over 650 products AND successfully marketed many 100's of thousands of them through such businesses as: Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, Walmart, Sears, Tractor Supply, etc.

The product that I invented that allowed me to "retire" at age 35 is a household name, it is sold all over the world, and millions of people own one or more of them. It is a product that people place in their home, business, RV, church, Office, etc. It currently sells for about 2k to 5k, (it varies depending on certain brands and options). It is so popular that one of the Presidents of the United States actually bought a certain variation of one with his own money and placed it in the Oval Office during his time as president.

Why am I just now telling everyone these things?

Because, WHEN you come to understand that me being the serial inventor that I am, it's just built into my DNA to constantly be inventing/designing/creating new things.

Regarding trading...

I have created dozens of indicators, thousands of combinations of indicators, and thousands of different templates. Template #1 that I posted of Page #1, it stands on it's own and it always will. It will never stop working, BUT I have the right and moreover the desire to constantly be trying to improve things in my own trading so I will never stop doing that as I spend between 7 and 16 hours a day almost every day the markets are open doing something regarding trading, because it's my passion.

This will help make things make more sense. Think of a professional artist, just because they give you a painting that they painted, does that mean that they should forever stop painting? No, because it's in their nature to paint, they are good at it, they are passionate about it, and it may be how they make their living as well.

I'm no different.

Regarding the RSO (RobinHood Stochastics Oscillator)...

I am going to post an image of JUST ONE WAY (out of many) that I use the RSO. It's a VERY POWERFUL indicator, with many, many nuances and very few traders (as a percentage) are likely to ever fully understand its power and usefulness in trading. I now use it on every chart when I am trading.

Regarding the settings, there are no "set in stone" numerical settings. There are no magical combinations of settings. I am "unlikely" to ever tell everyone the exact settings that I am currently using BUT ONLY because I don't want anyone "possibly" front-running me on my entries and exits.

What I can say is this (in my opinion):

1. I ALWAYS only use the %D line, never the %k (back-testing results taught me this).

2. The Orange Line can be set to: 8-3-3 Or 9-3-3 Or 10-3-3 or 11-3-3 or 12-3-3 or 13-3-3 or 14-3-3.

3. The Blue Line can be set to: 50-10-3 Or 51-10-3 Or 52-10-3 or 53-10-3 or 54-10-3 or 55,10,3 or 56-10-3 or 57-10-3 or 58-10-3 or 59-0-3 or 60-10-3.
* Instead of the 10, you could also use the 11 or the 12.

You use 1 each of the above (#2 and #3) in whatever combination suits you and/or the market you are trading the best.

The settings I have used (and shown here in the past) are 12-3-3 and 55-12-3, so if you don't feel like using your own settings, just use these.

Also, in the image below, the trades that I have outlined ONLY work THAT WELL when the blue line is at, near or ABOVE the blue dotted line (for Long trades).

It also works just as well for short trades when the orange line is at, near or BELOW the Orange dotted line.

Always remember, no indicator is always 100% correct because it can't see the future (including the RSO) AND none of them that I have ever seen doesn't have signals that fail.

I have tried to make everything as clear as possible on the image below. Which market or time-frame I used is irrelevant which is why I hid it. *BTW, the blue dotted line is set to 80 and the solid green line is set to 90. The orange dotted line is set to 20 and the solid red line is set to 10.

It’s clear that the original template you shared remains the solid foundation of this method. As a newcomer, I deeply respect its simplicity and strength. It provides a reliable starting point that continues to deliver value.

A lot to absorb, but most useful - thanks a lot for an organized diagram Robinhood.
I love that there are crossover and continuation trades. Also, the roadmap ema pair looks awesome as it still leaves the chart easy to look at while giving a clear picture of direction. Also, tweaking with the values will come in handy for different timeframes.

Hello RH, may i ask you to tell me what instruments are on these 2 charts. I just want to compare your RSO display with mine on Barchart and StockFetcher services.

By saying: "instruments", I am assuming that you are referring to only the RSO? Otherwise, let me know.

The RSO is an acronym for: RobinHood Stochastics Oscillator

It's comprised of 2 Stochastics overlaid on top of one another using only the %D lines for each one.

RH, by saying instrument i dont mean RSO. I mean stock or equity or currency or...enything it is on candlestic chart.
Not so long ago i discovered that my RSO on MT4 is different than your because i used "close/close" data, not "low/high".
This variable even does not exist onStoch indicator on other charting/screener services (Barchart, StockFetcher).

I had just woken up when I read and responded to your text and all I could focus on was the reference that you made to the RSO. I personally don't use the word "instruments" to refer to different markets but it is totally proper and acceptable to use it in that way.

Over the coarse many years, I have used many, many different trading platforms and I rarely have seen two that displayed the Stochastics exactly the same, so I feel that just getting "close" is good enough for me.

It's like if I use a 10 and 20 sma combo to show me crossovers, and you use a 12 and 24, they are not identical, but it's "close enough".

But to answer your original question, what instrument is in the images are stocks (but only because that's what I am currently mostly trading).

I have been experimenting with the tools you've discussed and wanted to share my current setup on MT4 after your recent post as well as ask a few questions for your feedback:

My MT4 Template Settings
EMA Settings:
EMA(18) applied three time with High, Low, Close
EMA(3) applied to Close
Stochastic Settings:
Double Stochastic: 12-3-3 (Orange) and 55-12-3 (Blue)

Queries:
1) Since you’ve mentioned trading stocks quite often, could you please confirm if this setup (EMAs + RSO) is equally effective for Forex and Crypto, or would you suggest any adjustments for those markets?

2) As only crypto market wcan be traded , I was tetsing it on BTC
While studying your first chart with 8 BUY setups marked with Green vertical lines I have noticed:
For long entries, the blue line was usually between 80–90 or even above 90.
For short entries, the blue line often stayed between 10–20 or even below 10.

Trade 1 and 8: Crossover trades (orange line crossing the blue line above the 50 level).
Trades 2–7: Continuation trades, the Blue line was already above 80, and the orange line crossed upward from below 50.
Could you kindly confirm if my understanding of these setups aligns with your intended use of the RSO?

3) Also, are there specific chart conditions or filters you prefer to use when distinguishing between a good continuation trade vs a weaker one?

I don't know because I have not tried trading this basic template on anything but stocks and Futures.

As I said in Post #10,486: the trades that I have outlined ONLY work THAT WELL when the blue line is at, near or ABOVE the blue dotted line (for Long trades) (The 80 is the blue dotted line). This is IMMENSELY important regarding making trades using the RSO in the exact way that I showed, otherwise you will probably lose overall trading these type of set-ups.

Trades 2–7: Continuation trades, the Blue line was already above 80, and the orange line crossed upward from below 50.

Yes.

What you have to understand is that the images that I showed, is NOT my full trading template. I removed/hid the other indicators that I use on this template just to allow people to be able to "focus" on just the RSO. Personally, I would not trade it with just the indicators that I showed.

No.

No one can see the future, they can only try to predict it, which is what the indicators that I use are doing for me. In order to CONSISTENTLY beat any game, you must have an "edge", something that gives you an advantage. In trading, my current best "edge" is to do exactly what I wrote in my FF profile many, many years ago.

It says: "The absolute best trading advice that I could give someone is to buy the resumption of a STRONG up trend after the first pull-back. And vice-versa for short trades"

That is describing a Continuation Trades. What you use, or how you use it to get into Continuation Trades is up to each individual trader. At this point in my trading, I honestly can look at a naked chart and still see the Continuation Trades without even trying, but I don't like watching naked charts because I find it to be very boring.

Continuation Trades (more often than not) give you the edge you need. It forces you to only trade in the direction of an already establish trend AND a place to give you a clearly defined Stop placement area (which allows you to easily calculate your risk on every trade as well as your position size).

If someone asked me, "If you had to create a new template today, to trade tomorrow (with NO REGARD as to which "instrument" you are trading, or which time frame you're using), what's one of the best ways to trade, and how would you do it?"

Most Importantly:

I would ONLY trade Continuation Trades.

CURRENTLY, to clearly show me Continuation Trades, I would use:

3 ema - Yellow
8 ema - Magenta
21 ema - Cyan
34 ema - Light Purple
55 ema - Orange

RSO - 12-3-3 and 55-12-3 %D Lines Only (not my exact settings but close enough).

*I am fond of saying: "The Truth is Always the Truth". Meaning that in trading, whichever template you are using should work on every market (instrument) and on every time-frame".

Here is what the best entries (Long only) should look like using this method:

Otherwise, to the best of my knowledge, I have never edited the Forex material since I first posted it. That's all of the info above where I started talking about trading stocks, and I only posted it because numerous members asked me to. AND, I only posted it on Page 1, Post #1, because that's the only post in this thread that can be edited after 24 hours has passed since it was first posted, and I have done that.

Above the stocks section, I did however fix some typos and added some trading related pdf's multiple times on later dates, and I will continue to do so in the future should the need arise.

Today, as in right now, I am ONLY day trading 10 min. stock charts (7 stocks: NVDA, PLTR, AMD, AAPL, GOOG, AMZN and IOVA) which I normally don't do (use 10 min. charts to day trade) so I have plenty of time to post right now. I want to post something that has been on my mind for a good long while.

There is something that I want to convey to the traders who visit here that has been very helpful to me.

It's a mental trick that has helped me tremendously over the years. The mental part of trading is by far the most difficult part of trading and few who ever dabble in trading ever master it, and so that's WHY about 90+% of traders lose overall. I have given everyone here plenty of ways to consistently beat the markets, yet, still, very few do. They simply can't master the mental game of trading.
MOST traders, like the vast, vast majority of them (most likely also including you ) say when they have a trade that lost: "I lost on that trade" or something very similar.
I don't say that. Because it makes me feel like I AM A LOSER. I chose wrong. I made a bad decision or decisions.

BUT...IF you have a legit game plan, or a winning trading system/strategy/method that has been proven to work in the past, and you have a trade that lost, then why say: I lost on that trade? YOU only lost IF you didn't follow YOUR TRADING RULES. Otherwise, your system/strategy/method had a losing trade, not you, because your only job is to follow YOUR rules and execute the trades properly. YOU are NOT responsible for your trading system/strategy/method having a losing trade. ALL trading systems/strategies/methods have losing trades AND you know that going in, so then why place the blame yourself by saying: I???????

So what I say WHEN I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL OF MY RULES is: "My method/system/strategy had an UNSUCCESSFUL trade".

Try saying it the next time you have a losing trade and you will see what a difference it will make for you mentally.

Thank you for sharing this powerful mindset shift. Viewing a losing trade as an “unsuccessful system trade” rather than a personal failure makes a lot of sense, and I will definitely start applying this approach.

The mental game really is the hardest part, and your guidance helps simplify it.

Also, a request if and when time allows, I will be extremely thankful and appreciate if you could share some updated thoughts or tips for Forex trading, especially for those of us still using MT4.

Your earlier insights and methods have been invaluable, and many of us including myseld are eager to learn more.
