One other thing - If it goes beyond three hours of sideways then hang it up and just wait. Just like Thursday night into Friday with 16 hours of sideway movement..... Nothing you can but just be patient.

back..Lots of sideways movement. I'm 20 pips up with s/l at 2 pips. Let's see where this goes and what you see coming..

I trade the Tokyo sessions 20:00 until NY comes in...... About 12 hours of trading. Sometimes I will check about 15:00 to see what NY is doing for their closing..... I never trade during the US announcements..... Too risky.

I have a limit of 21 pips per trading session.... Now if I go over the 21 pips, which I always do, then it is gravy...... But once I get those 21 pips I make sure I never get below it. This is something that all traders should project, is a limit for their session..... This will always keep you above water..... and in profit..... Never risk your limit.

wow, weird hours for you too as well.

I'm sticking to USDJPY for awhile with you and seeing If I can develop the skills. I might go to USDCAD though once I get comfortable trading.

Sleeping during the day is weird :-D

Once you have been comfortable with your trading you will learn how to get in and get out with profits. The way I get my 21 pips in the beginning of My session is I look for 3 good entries with 10 a pip movement on each, which is 7 pip profit per trade. After that..... I focus on the long term trades using the pivots.

I've been 20-30 pips in profit and have had it gone down to 0 pips. I'm trying to find a way to hang onto gains and add positions on dips.

So far this hasn't been profitable..mostly because I've been going the wrong way.

an ascending triangle forming on 5min and 15min, also, 5,15,30min stochastics near overbought.

Wrong statement unless you want to trade intradays and ride a long trend for days or weeks at a time.

Do you have a enough opportunities to do this? Why don't you hold the position?
