here is the internal time structure on USDJPY at 15min since April 4th
notice how the last 2 2-day cycles have stretched out to form their parent cycle of about 5 days...if the 2-day cycle had been "normal", it would have given birth to the 4-day cycle
obviously we cannot know in advance what the exact duration will be...but with good approximation we can understand it by waiting for the end of the first subcycle
similarly when a subcycle of 3.5 is formed.....well...logic tells me 3.5+3.5=7
