Can someone suggest a method of trading FX that can co-exist with a regular day job. I work from 0700 to 1600 EST, which covers the second half of the London session, and just about all of the NY session. I have used a couple of EA's and they work ok, but I would like to learn a method to manually trade as well. I have been experimenting with Bagovino method, and some Vegas tunnel. But I still need to keep an eye on them every hour or so to watch for crossings, and what not. Am I on the right track here? or is there something that is better suited to a beginner that has a day job?

Thanks

Rusty

Hey Rusty,

I would suggest reading the James16 price action thread. You can trade it on any time frame, but if you trade it on the weekly and daily charts, you could definitley find the time with a full time job. Let me know if you need anyting else.

Best of luck,
Mike

Take a look at the Daily Fozzy Method here at FF you only HAVE to look at it once a day and from the responses it looks like it works.

Do what I do: Go get yourself a Palm Treo, with a wireless plan, get MT4 mobile for it, and simply trade on the job. As long as you have a trading method that is on a 30 minute or 60 minute time frame, then this approach is very doable while working a 9 to 5. Of course...you will have to get a broker who uses Meta Trader.....

hey Yoda Glenn,

why do you mention only the 30 and 60 min timeframes for mobile trading?
thanks,
mateusz

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the responces so far I have thought about getting a smart phone, and using MT4 mobile. I already use InterbankFX, but I am not sure if I can keep the platform open at home, and access the acount from the phone as well.

Because I'm assuming you actually wanna get some work done at your day job lol. A chart's time frame is exactly that, it charts a currency pair's move over a given period of time. This means that the longer the time frame, the longer action will tend to take place on that chart, which means you will have to check it a lot less (in most cases....there are times when a currency pair can shoot up or down on ANY time frame, but these moments are rare.)

Ditto, I do the same thing, as I too am with InterbankFX, using MT4 mobile. I've become so depedant on MT4 mobile, that I wouldn't even consider a broker that doesn't have it. But if you're the type who can afford to stay at home and trade, then having MT4 mobile doesn't matter.

May I ask what model Palm Treo you have and who is your provider? Also, with MT4 mobile, is Interbank FX trading platform easy to see and use?

Thanks
I'm a disciplined trader and that's the only way I trade.

Daily Fozzy Method and James16 Price Action. Read through these two threads start to finish, and you'll be miles ahead of 90%+ of all others trying to cut their teeth on 1 hr or 30 min charts.

All the best,

Michael
