Hi Mate,

The template I've shared is still valid as that caters to the OPs original indicator values. The MACD was an addition from my end as an added confluence. But with or without MACD, the template is still valid.

Yes, I have disabled it on my charts as I am trying different confirmations for entry/exit rules. It is a continuous improvement effort. Some tweaks work, some don't.

The white line is just RSI-based MA line. If I look closely the RSI based MA works and looks more or less like the MACD signal line. So, i can do away with one indicator on the charts. Trying to see how the other lines react with respect to this RSI based MA line and what the price action is showing.

It is coming to look that way to be honest. The trade that works is when the lines are above the 50 (for long) and below 50 (for short). It also provides some confusing setups during the sideways movement. So, checking them and analyzing on how to avoid them.

If you look at the EUR short that did not work, there wasn't anything wrong in the setup. Probably that HTF was bullish and I should have aligned with it.

I'd suggest to use the template as it has the setting as per OPs post. The recent images that I am posting differ slightly as I am playing with the values, adding few lines here and there etc.

You can use the template but also tweak it to your liking by adding other indicators that you are comfortable with or by using different methods for entry/exits.

Yes. Always. Once I am up about the same amount as my initial risk is, I move my stop to where I still make a very small profit if price comes back and goes against me.

Is that more of a mental thing for you?
I am asking, because I have coded many different Systems and based on stats... 90% of Systems work the best with a set&forget 2R Target.
But I guess you also often go for higher R?

A bit late to the party so just tried a 1:1 (Demo Trade)

The more you keep working on it, you will start to find ways to improve the trade entries.

If I only make a dollar on a trade, I put it in the WIN column. If I lose only a dollar, I must put that into the LOSE column, so yes it's just a mental thing for me.

As far as R:R goes, I too have tested which is best and the answer depends on a LOT of variables. Meaning, based on my computerized back testing, there is no one best R:R.

The best that I have come up with is to always trade in multiple of 3's. Such as: 300 shares of stocks. The first 100 you exit at 1:1, move the other 200 shares of stock to Breakeven, exit the second 100 shares at 2:1, move the stop on the last 100 shares up to where you exited the first 100 shares, and then let the last 100 shares run until you get stopped out using your own predetermined rules.

Hi Rosecearm, thanks for the charts you post. They have been very helpful to study.

What is the purple line on your chart? I've been trying to work it out and can't find anything that matches it! Are you using it to filter out trades, for example above or below that line for long or short?

Those are just normal Candles coloured based on HA logic. The script is called "
CM_Heikin-Ashi_Candlesticks_V1"

The lower indicator is something I coded myself.

That is HMA line. Been playing around with few values. Currently set to 120
