The other option I am back-testing is when the RSI is above 75 after 6 candles (see green line on RSI on the chart below, or 25 if shorts), is to hold the trade until the blue Squeeze histogram bar displays... this way you can get more of the extended up moves... almost double the return in this example. Trying to find a way to get both the small and bigger moves.

My opinion is that was a C grade setup because the Squeeze Setup was occurring on a M1 chart and it was around the cross over of the London / New York Sessions.
I would forget trading Squeeze's on M1 because the Risk / Reward isn't great. I will trade M2 for A+ Setups or trade good setups on M5.

Lets see how it would have gone on M5 - if you had traded earlier, it would of been a great trade.

HINT - When trading Gold, forget taking any Squeeze sets Mid Session of London, they need to appear within 3 hours of London Open or DO NOT TRADE Them.
Look elsewhere.

Edit - M1 only works well on US500 after New York Open, Check out Rocky's thread.

thanks a lot for sharing your wisdom. Where would you locate your sl then, because there after a few candles there is a candle with big wick which would take stoploss if was located just under signal candle’s 21 ema, these long-wicked candles often take me out of position, so what is your opinion on that? Also, would you share some more knowledge for timing and timeframes recommended to use in those time periods? I usually trade gold, us500 and us30 in london session, what would be your advise for these pairs(when to trade and in what timeframe for london session)? Thanks a lot.

I always wait for the candle to close before I worry about the 21EMA been taken out, those long wicks are just liquidity runs which I ignore.
In the above case, No exit was needed because the close was above the 21EMA on M5.
If you are going to trade M1, rather than use the 21EMA, try using the Keltner Channel set to 1.5 as your exit instead.
On M2 or higher, the 21EMA is good to use - therefore skip M1 unless you trade US500 30 minutes after New York open.

So I mostly trade ES / NQ / Gold / Oil Future's during the London session and if I can stay up to 3am, the start of the New York session.
I may trade BITCOIN & EU Future's if something exciting is happening there.
I normally trade on M2 (but keep an eye on M5) where I am looking for Squeeze setups on those pairs based around price leaving the 21EMA.
I also look for Volatility Contraction Patterns inside a Squeeze Setup PLUS trade another Strategy I'm keeping under wraps till I create a THREAD on it sometime this year. - TRADING SNOW MONKEYS -

Houston we have a problem.

The chart on Future's M5 Gold directly from COMEX is very different from the CFD Gold chart (Chart 2 posts back) and if you had traded off that CFD chart - YOU WERE TRADING BLIND. The breakout candle on Gold Future's chart was 12 times higher in volume than any other candle on the chart and this information
WAS VERY IMPORTANT.
To develop this into a setup that offered A+++ - you needed to know which candle it was first, then secondary how to apply this knowledge into creating this fantastic trade entry that A+++ which was about 20 minutes earlier than your traded (Trading Snow Monkeys Strategy).

It was on Gold M5 Futures Chart, not Gold M5 CFD Chart -

Great model there. I started exploring this concept a bit more and stumbled upon something.

Lovely script on TradingView that actually was awarded Editors Picks called Revolution Volatility Bands With Range Contraction Signal VII.

As stated by its author it's essentially volatility bands with a technical analysis pattern, the triangle/wedge, which he has called "contraction signal".

Put simply: When price is written in blue, volatility overall is falling. When the outer bands start to fatten up in blue, a contraction signal is forming. Works with any length of your choosing.

I've tested and this indicator produces squeezes that accurately align with TTM Squeeze Pro. Combined with the 21 EMA, it's another powerful tool to add to the arsenal.

Wait for price and bands to be blue then follow typical squeeze and go methodology. Works quite nicely.

My observation and experience. I do not probe and do not split positions.

It is at most importance for this technique to come in full force on the very first retracement to EMA 21 and then burst away from 21.

Expression: ""The early bird gets the worm". This way you come in for a better Entry and better Stop loss.

If there was a squeeze before that first burst, that would make that set up A+, but if there is a strong push away from 21, squeeze is not that relevant.

Second, Third. etc. push is not as favorable statistically.

I have uploaded a couple of tools for this strategy. In this moment there have been 550 downloads. So there are many people that find an interest in this strategy. I think you guys should make a post saying hello to everybody and tell that you are following the thread. It is much more satisfying for OP and and other wise people if they know that there is an interest.

I think you can draw parallels between many pattern shapes but the VCP Pattern was made popular by a Market Wizard who had the best yearly returns of any trader inviewed by Jack Schwager. Mark Minervini used it to twice win the US Investment Championship as an amateur and went on to run his own Hedge fund producing eye popping returns.

So, is this basically a vcp pattern? And you enter right before a breakout when the squeeze appears and put your stop loss right below the 21ema, which makes your position more efficient, is that right?
