I agree with that wedge. I would not be surprised to see a correction back to 1.3650/1.3700 double top (check a zoomed out weekly chart) from above.

I´m not good analyst, but I´m seeing stochastic appointig down, second red open om Macd on 4 h graphic and ADX crossing on Daily. It will be a correction signal?

Stochastics Do tell me go short and my charts are telling me that the pair is on the verge of a breakout.. I prefer watching the market for a while. Though 1.3830 might be achieved once more in a few hours. Also I dont believe we can see a record high today. The pairs seem to be moving slow for such an impact.

An hourly chart showed an uptrend. Hitting 1.3848 is likely possible.

It haven't hit 1.3874. It will be that range to hit 1.37 and below. This is just my point of view.

As long as 1.3825/30 is holding you may see that scenario. Bellow us is small support at 1.3800 and then we have to finally go though 1.3780 to reach 1.3750. Above 1.3830 … will see what happens.

I agree on mixed signals (small time frames are pointing to the north and bigger ones to the south ) , so I will rather stay away from market right now .

16:45 EUR/USD: Single Currency Slips, Tech Call & Politics New York, July 23. At an almost glacial pace, spot EUR/USD has slipped from early New York highs to 1.3810 after a tech call from one of the largest US commercial banks to switch short USD/JPY to short EUR/JPY, effectively a sell EUR/USD recommendation because all that is changing is the funding vehicle. Traders are reluctant to short the single currency, as evidenced by the CTA driven rally this A.M. from 1.3804 to 1.3824, however lack of topside progress is gradually starting to erode traders' confidence, and they are thinking maybe it is time to book some profits as the European holiday month of August approaches.
Part of the general air of unease that is starting to develop is the Franco/ German dissonance over the strength of the Euro, aired quite openly by France's Nicolas Sarkozy, and disavowed by ECB members and Germany's Angela Merkel. Once again another ECB spokesperson, this time Lucas Papademos was playing in tune with the orchestra, waxing on about ECB independence. Interestingly enough it was on a day that a colleague, Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, former Italian Finance Ministry official was highly critical of a change in the retirement age in Italy being proposed by the government whereby they have recanted an earlier decision to raise the retirement age to 60 from 57, and instead are proposing a more gradual rise from 58 next year, to 61 by the year 2013. Smaghi is criticizing the decision that is estimated to cost an additional E10bn over ten years. Italy's debt has ballooned to 105% of GDP, and is the largest by that measure in Europe.
With Airbus losing 1bn EUR for every big fig above 1.3500 that EUR/USD trades, and with Italy continuing to strain credulity over its mounting debt, it is hard to see how they are going to cope with an even stronger exchange rate. In the past there would have been a currency re-alignment, however with the single currency regime that is not possible. It seems cracks are forming in the foundations and it will take more than lip service to patch them up. [email protected]

18:10 EUR/USD: Probes Below 1.3800 & 5-Day M/A New York, July 23. In a reluctant almost begrudging manner EUR/USD has probed below 1.3800, and has raised some tech boys hackles by nudging beneath the 5-day M/A which has got the momentum accounts worried. The low so far has been 1.3795, and spot is still trading just a shade below the figure. Tech traders also note that on the daily RSI study the uptrend support line has also been broken for the first time in a month, with the slow stochastic starting to roll over in the high eighties, normally a reliable indicator that a pull back is under way. On the hourly study RSI has dipped to 32.75, but still has room to slide further.
On the daily study RSI remains elevated at 73.4, and as we observed last week, RSI had been on an elongated streak, notching up 10 consecutive days in the 80s, a phenomena that had only occurred three times in 21/2 years; today we have broken back below, and if the experience of the other three occasions is true to form a minimum pull back of 240 pts should be expected, with a maximum 315pts. In one out of the three a false pull back occurred, dropped 145pts, rallied to a new high 80pts above the previous one, and then fell 320pts within a week.
With the recommendation from a large US commercial bank to switch from short USD/JPY to short EUR/JPY as a leitmotif, add in the fact that topside momentum has stalled, leveraged and momentum accounts are getting nervous. The 5-day M/A is at 1.3802, the 10-day at 1.3785, and for the first time in a while EUR/USD is vulnerable. [email protected]

I still contend that short term focus is on a probe down to a little beneath 1.3756. i would rather see this occur down from the 1.3846 existing high for the move, but I do recognize an altenate that allows for a near term modest breach of 1.3846 before commencing the desired assault on 1.3756.

Still holding in up trend, with supports at 1.3800, 1.3780 and 1.3765.Pair got stuck in small channel formed on daily, so it can reach 1.3850/60. However it has to go though 1.3835 and 1.3843.

Way it looks right now push to the north is more likely .

i think can see 1.4150, 1.4250 and 1.45.

We have seen first wave of profit taking at 1.3850 (yours truly included ) , now it remains to be seen can they go over it and reach 1.3867 ( why 67 -- that’s what I see as target behind 1.3850 in this hour ) ... then maybe yours 1.39 today

Lots of northbound tails on the 30 min charts on the EUR and GBP. Seems to be a little more hesitation now.
