I made a mistake. I cant see the 140 range bar visually yet there is only one., but I seen from the current price it opened at 108.80
had a low of 107.61 and a high of 109.01 but it needs 1 more pip to close.
SO the 140 pip range bar needs either 107.60 or 109.02 to be completed.

ok....not following the range bar thing... but will have a closer look later....but the levels you mention are close to mine

My range bar chart looked too nice at 2724 and 2720.
Looks like its headed to 2734 again at least.
The last time this week that gold dropped from Asian open to 2738 it then bolted up to make the new high at 2758
I have stopped trading gold this week.
and turned to the EU for now as its much more relaxing to trade.
its Friday lost my concentration for gold, I think I had too many late nights.

Gold is hectic...and needy for time. I have a nagging feeling still a big spike up is due. This weekend is a possibilty for Israel to make another move so I struggle reconciling fundementals with technicals.

I believe Amy's methodolody doesn't use the HPFZ analysis, its derived from that. She only uses the .50 fib and .618 fib. And her probability analysis is in her head by eyeballing the charts and her pattern analysis is very detailed!!!

I have to re-read and review her posts to undersand her process!

Hi epeks that is spot on what you say.
The HPFZ analysis gives identical figures to mine for the weekly, monthly and quarterly targets as long as you are using just the ranges for the previous period which I do. But for the 4hr charts which are based on the previous 5 days data then it is different.

I am still studying this, specially how to read the range bar chart. I still have R.08 - R014 - D and notice that you compare this with your 4H Chart to determine the entry.

The range bar chart does give good entries but what I like most about it is that it filters out the bad ones, for example at the moment au is coming up to Mondays highs at 8867 but looking at the 80 pip range bar chart the completion of the next bar is pointing to 8903 so we know that the likelihood of 8867 being a solid line of resistance is not high.

amyc used these range bars to great effect , with her version of HPFZ. and she counted the weekly bars.
she mainly traded in the forex only EU and AU with the Fibonacci trader charting software made by Robert Krausz.

Those are my figures since the start of the year.

The account that is up 950% is an account where mm is loose to say the least. It has a much smaller amount of money than the other 2 accounts, and once a profit like that is made it is taken out and put in one of the other accounts. It is an account where I take trades that don't fit the strict criteria for the other accounts but I want anyway, an example this year is shorting the euro even when my charts didn't give a perfect entry. I have been shorting the euro since 1.45 in january which is why it has done so well.
The other thing I use the account for is practising on different markets, I don't use demo accounts.
I find it to be a very handy account, the key is to only leave in it an amount of money you are willing to lose.

In my other 2 accounts mm is very tight, I like very tight stops and large position sizes, average stop is around 10 pips and average win is around 100 pips.

EU is trading below weekly 100 ma. That may cap price! Target is a test of 1.0777/61 zone.

Butterfly for short....but the price being above MA worries me so not convinced.
Target 3 coincides with ADR and resistance ......so many reasons to close there if it goes

GM, I agree with you, I personally have no patience (working on it) and I prefer to close my trades within the session, fill the small pocket and not leave the large pocket empty, the downward momentum was strong from this point together with the gaps, break of the TL and the HL, it seems that resistance was created in the area, its not surprising to sell against it for a deeper PB, 250 pips with a small stop and a good set-up can be like 500, waking up to a new day and looking for a new opportunity like a nice EU ,I don't really care for a new low, since the H4 structure has been broken,

I had to hedge against it, 104200 could become resistance,

Dixie H1 I dont see 104.27 breaking today.....so maybe just sideways all round..
