I want to say to investors around the world that Japanese stock prices are falling sharply today, and the Japanese economy is declining. The number of company bankruptcies will increase significantly, and the value of the Japanese yen will fall significantly. It will obviously be more valuable to buy foreign currencies.

The Bank of Japan has raised interest rates, which has caused stock prices to plummet, making it difficult for it to raise interest rates. The government's plan to double the assets of the NISA savings plan is collapsing, and a change of government is likely. It is expected that the value of the dollar will rise for a while.

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake occurred in Miyazaki, Japan 2.5 hours ago, and depending on the extent of the damage, the value of the yen may fall, similar to the earthquake that occurred on the Noto Peninsula on January 1st.

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred in Kanagawa Prefecture 1.5 hours ago. I hope the damage will not spread any further. Prime Minister Kishida has canceled his overseas trip to prepare for the earthquake, but if further damage occurs, the value of the Japanese yen is expected to fall.

In conclusion, the collapse of stock prices and the effects of the earthquake (to prevent companies from going bankrupt due to the costs of reconstruction) have made it extremely difficult for the Bank of Japan and the government to raise interest rates.

Hmmmmm the last time something this bad happened they were forced to buy the yen sending UJ down...

The opening of the market will be important (gap), it will be interesting to see how it reacts to a number of unfavourable information, including the earthquake and declarations about the lack of further BOJ rate hikes and the rebound on the stock exchanges

Last week Monday, USDJPY price action on the daily time frame broke down a rising trendline (purple) traceable to Mach 2023. However, there was a bullish pushback on Tuesday and by Friday price action turned sideways just above the trendline. Presently, price action is at the intersection of the trendline and the 146.600 area, an area which had served as horizontal support since March. Technically, we may still see further bullish move in the early part of the week.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.
