I am just watching for the Euro/GBP to drop.
not yet
its at a big point the top of both the 4 hour & day channel!!
bust or bounce?


Eur/Chf is testing the top (now S) of the old 1 hour channel
it hasn'y broken it !

Concerning these channels, how do we draw them from diffrent time frames on the same chart? Is this a certain indicator? I looked through the thread but couldn't find a posting of it. Thanks.

U/J one hour

black is the 1 hour channel
blue is the 4 hour channel
red is the day channel

red line at 00-01 a very strong natural (00 R/S)

it looks like this guy wants to go up

but it is friday late

On the Eur/Cad I had a TP at 1.4470
& I just closed E/G @ .6775

short term all I have is U/J

U/J 4 hour

Black line hour channels
red line day channels
blue line 4 hour channels (2 of them 4 hour)
black line 00 natural support

yellow circle area of great Support
we see the day, hour & 4 hour channels (1 of the 2) & 00 natural S/R
And it seems to be holding the line. strongly!

I think this yellow area may well hold .
I don't think Carry trade will die so easy
BUT if it doesn't hold - we may well see a free fall!!!!!

The problem I have with this chart is
I see 2 very clear 4 hour channels! (blue channels)

my new rules are to only trade with the 4 hour & day channels
& I am not sure I am doing that right now.
- because I do not know which 4 hour channel is right

also both stochs are going South so the "big M" is clear
and last- this Monday is a Holiday in Japan & its summer of coarse.

So I really don't know what is going to happen?!

I made a mistake - I started trading this set of trades using Stochs & channels
& changed over to using basically just channels.
The old saying Stay with one System in a trade!!!

anyways I am closing down all U/J trade for a good size lose
I will be possitive for the week but it still hurt bad

I will be on Vacation next week
& when I come back I will be trading with channels.

So, no more stochs ?

If you're using channels only, what serves you as the trigger for entries? You wait until the price gets to the top/bottom of the channel, forms candlestick formation and then you take it from there?
What if the price is in the middle of the channles? Will you take such a trade? And what will you base your entry on in such case?

Good Question
1. Candle sticks & Tails
2. Breaks & bounces.
3. one hour Trend Line (TL)
4. I will be keeping an eye on Vol. as well

I have found I'm in a lot faster this way then with the stochs
& got out faster - both to the good.
(but for the UJ which was more my fault- I think(!?)- not following my new rules?!)

as for Stochs - I likely will fall back on them as I did today!


as for the middle - hour TL. ...

also I think the pair matters E/U - TL & Channels are so easy
clearly the UJ they are not - I might use Stochs on these types of pairs
I am going to leave the Stochs on my charts

It looks to me that the problem you mention here is because you may be looking for a trendline that does not yet exist. You have some very well defined ones there, but it seems that you made your second 4-hr line where price was at the moment, instead of waiting for a move away from that area first. In other words, I can make a trendline from any old swing high/low to where price is now, but it doesn't mean that price has actually tested that area yet and moved away from it, creating a boundary. And while two points may make an acceptable trendline, really 3 or more makes it a much more reliable boundary.

You know you are right- What I did would normally be okay
- we have 3 touches on the top & 5 on the bottom .

So I moved down to the hour charts- & it testing & moving away.

I think the bigger problem is the 2nd 4 hour Channel had not broken the 1st
& was inclosed in it. I forgot basic TL rules ... A channel is a TL right .

I think I need to wait for the 4 hour to confirm & then move to the 1 hour
the other is "Cheating" & I guess you don't always get away with it

also it was Friday... I keep telling myself never trade on fridaysl
All my big losses always come on Friday.

Hey TEB, which stoch for which timeframe? I'm using 5,3,3 on 4 hr and 14,3,3 on 60 (I'm using 4 hour and 60 min).

1. Should I switch from 60 to 30? I've found that doesn't work out well.
2. Should I have both stoch's on both timeframes?

If im not mistaken this thread started off some 123 pages ago a simple stochy ma system and now despite hundreds of themes later no one found the right combination........Mmmm i wonder why?
