I hope this day finds you well. I want to repeat to you my appreciation for your efforts to share with those reading your great thread. As far as I'm concerned, your thread is by far the best on the Forex Factory. Had I discovered your thread early in my forex trading journey I feel the journey would have been less littered with obstacles along the way. The way you share your charts & how you trade those charts is to me very simplistic by design & simplistic is what we as traders should strive to find in the methods we chose to trade. There are many ways to trade & many tools available to be used in trading, but the tools such as standard indicators are not always the best at aiding us in our trading. In my early days of forex, I just couldn't seem to have enough of those standard indicator's. They are not needed any more except one I still cherish.
Since this thread covers Gann, Cycles & other related topics I want to elaborate on Gann for a bit. I have research Gann & his methods for many years & have reached the conclusion that Gann never really shared his true way of trading & if he did only a very few have that information & they will most likely never share that information. It appears Gann started the process that has led to the supposed Gann's way of trading that is scattered all over the internet. Next in line of the Gann phenomenon comes the Delta fame & followed up by our old friend Murrey from Tenn. From my research there is another participant that comes in ahead of Sloman & his Delta Phenomenon & that is a trader by the name of George Marechal who by all accounts kept to himself the exact method of how he traded. Source.... take a look at Delta Phenomenon/PDF/Algorithmic Trading/Forecasting. From my research, nowhere have I found any mention of George Marechal by Solman, or others as being the one who discovered The Delta Phenomenon. There are bits & pieces scattered around the internet about Marechal. It appears after the passing of Marechal somehow the method Marechal was using was re discovered by Sloman. Not sure if this is how things transpired, but it appears this is how thing became what we know today. Next along comes Murrey Math from T.H. Murrey & you know the story on that. I do feel Murrey was on to something with his Murrey Math & it was a derivative of what Gann taught. I have a MM indicator & it is quite impressive how PRICE seems to adhere to the 1/8TH levels.
Having said all of that I will say for me Gann Is the Man & shared just enough to get inquiring minds engaged enough to dig deeper into what he was doing. Along the way researching Gann I did find one of his methods to be very accurate at picking the next Highs & Lows in any given market. Thats a topic for another day. If I can find it so can anyone.
The Delta Phenomenon, Murrey Math & The Market Matrix all appear to have strong ties to Gann & his teachings.
For my way of trading simplistic is the way to trade. The tools you share in reference to the cycles & all related information is the way to go keeping things simple & the chart uncluttered.
Again, Parisboy you have no peers in all matters related to cycles & other such related matters.
