DislikedAlain, Klausi, Had a query for you. If MA 64 current value is INR 4553 and expected MA 64 value is INR 4555. Does it mean that expected movement in price is INR 2 ? Or is there a multiplier effect depending on the MA being considered ? I tried mathematical reasoning as follows: Let the current price total over 64 values be X. So if current MA 64 is at INR 4553, then X/64= 4553 So X = 4553*64= 291392. Time between the 2 points (actual and projected focal is lets say 15 candles of 15 min each). Now projected MA 64 is 4555. So the projected price total...Ignored
Disliked{quote} The CMA is simply a moving average set back 1/2 of its span. So a CMA64 is the average of the last 64 prices, offset by 32 bars. To calculate a future position of the CMA is simple if the price moves from its current point to the final point in a straight line, but this is rarely the case. When a new bar forms, the CMA64 can be calculated by adding the difference in value of the current bar and the removed bar (65 bars back) and dividing by 64. (eg - current CMA64 = 4553, value of current bar is 4600, value of bar 65 bars back is 4400, new...Ignored
Disliked{quote} True but deriving price differential based on MA projection is not straight forward. Will try and explain today with the help of a chart. The difficulty is not in projecting the MA like you said but in projecting price once MA is known.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Exactly! I have coded an addon to the indicator that will determine the position of the CMA based on price projections and the assumption that price has moved from A to B in a straight line. That was simple. To determine what the price will be when the next focal point forms, with any accuracy, is complex if not impossible. It can however be estimated using trial and error. For example, if I enter a price & time into the indicator addon, I can see where the CMA will be. I can then keep adjusting that price until the CMA is at the correct...Ignored

DislikedWhen MA 32 moved from point A to point B it not just added new data but also deleted data . Hence the difference in sum totals of prices between MA 32 at point B and MA 32 at point A contains this entire movement- the deletion of old data and the addition of new data - see sections marked in yellow. And like I mentioned, the sum total or difference in totals doesnt take us anywhere. {image}Ignored
