PS, i dont personally use TDI just have the PDFs lying around for anyone interested. I swing trade and only look for Liquidity on higher time frames

TDI and a bunch of other indicators are pretty good at pointing to trends. The TRICK is to find the indicators that point to the trends early and get you out of the trends at the end of the cycle, not too early and not too late!

I just use macd, never used TDI, i think its for mt4 and stuff like that. Im on IG and just use the basic stuff
Tried mt4 a hundred yrs ago but too confusing importing scripts etc. Im a self confessed dumbass when tech is involved

I like macd. I find that TDI actually gives you an earlier indication of trend than macd. You can always setup the mobile tdi to get a fairly good interpretation of tdi on any other platform.

I look for indicators that appear to work, not indicators for the sake of collecting indicators.

Hi Dantpm,

Good to see another trader using mobile MT4. Setting the TDI on MT4 is quite easy while keeping the chart clean. Only use 1 indicator to signal trading timing is enough.

as of the reason of TDI sometimes gives “earlier” signal than MACD, this is to do with the period of MACD (26) and TDI (13)

Still in TMS method, TDI as lagging indicator prevents traders from ‘predicting’ the price movement. TMS trades are reacting to price movement

No. If that were the reason, then one would consistently signal earlier than the other with a given set of parameters. The reason they sometimes do not signal together is because they are measuring different things. MACD shows the difference between 2 MAs of price whereas RSI shows the "uppness vs downness". This can give rise to cases such as both price and MACD making lower lows in a down move, yet RSI making a higher low. RSI is showing that "upness" is strengthening over "downness" before it has manifested in price change.
