EJ Oct12 UPDATE:

- the Oct11 engulfing candle was good except the market need to overcome that BRN158.
- then traders who overcome that FEAR and the bulls take charge
- finally it moved in the 'right' direction
- slowly and surely ... make the transition to trade the 4Hr.

- some traders look at LTF charts and see trends but the HTF market is sideways.

The system is only activated when the green line crosses red on the TDI, but as you can see, when the crossing occurs, we are already on the second candle. We will enter the third, I am sure, which is the moment when the crossing is completed.

That's why I find it confusing to understand this method. The moment the TDI crosses, the candle has not yet crossed the average of 5. They need to cross simultaneously, ok?

In your example, when the candle crosses the average of 5, the TDI has already crossed.

Clearly, you have not understood the BASICS that BigE stated, the MOST IMPORTANT being #1 below:
1. Look for TDI green cross red: If no cross, stop and move on to something else, no matter about any other conditions.
2. Look for how many HA bars there are in this new direction. If there are 3 or more, you are too late--stop and move on to something else.
3. Check the conditions to see if there are reasons to NOT enter. If find any, stop and move on to something else.
4. Look for an HA bar to close beyond the EMA5 shift +2. If this is the first or 2nd HA bar of the new color, then enter at its close.

You are wrong. I read many posts on this topic and besides, you didn't understand the question. Does the crossing of the TDI and the crossing of the candle with the average of 5 shifted +2 need to happen simultaneously? That was the question.

At one time I used the 5ema in a different way.
Back then if a candle closed across the 5ema it was the set up candle.
I would enter the trade at the beginning of the next candle if it was the same color.... and that still works... this is more conservative...

Gives me a better feel for what's going on... that's mainly the reason...

5EMA is confusing for you, remove it from the chart.
See if you can trade with out it, if you feel you need 5EMA put it back.
