I have always my doubts on the facts if you understand fully what means :

Main Trend or Dominant Trend,
Price Oscillations around a Trend
and why it exists something like a 50% retracement !

I've read all of Jenkins' books but I still don't understand or maybe I need to study more. It seems that what they give you will take back. Maybe I need to change perspective or author. Give me advice please.

Yet I tell you, that if the market has a mathematical structure, the geometry of the plane is the key. Thank you for your reply.
Show me a book or a geometry program that when you give it the inclination of the thrust, it shows you the point of equilibrium.

Do you use the envelopes only to identify VTL?

Envelopes gives you also :

The Trend - relatively to the main Envelope used - generally based on a 256 Time Units Centered Moving Average
The Interaction between Trends :the Short Term (32 Time Units), the Medium Term (128 Time Units) and the Long Term 256 Time Units - relatively to the TimeFrame used and charted
The Amplitude of the Swings fluctuating within the respective Envelopes


Envelopes Boundaries as well as Envelopes Centerlines can be used as successive :

Support
Resistance
Target Price

Envelopes have also a limited Forecasting ability : the next Waves

Envelopes definitize - most of the Time very clearly Swings and Waves of the same nature, order, degree which allow to rationally classify and hierarchize them

Yes I "consider "

But it depends mainly of the Underlying Trend direction

in this case - when the break is in the same direction you can consider that when price is outside the Bands this break of the Upper or Lower Boundary it generates a Candidate Action Signal - bearish or bullish

Technically it is an alert : decision is yours in conjunction with ALL the other parameters
