Oil win

-Entered once price cleared previous day high
-Exited when speedline was broken, though I could have held and used the 55ema channel as support to stay in the trade longer for a few more points

Gold small loss

-Entered when price made a hh
-Exited with a small loss when my trendline was broken


I had a few others but basically broke even for the day. A couple of mental errors kept me from having a profitable day. But I learned something.

Just got taken out of this dow trade for small loss (basically BE)

-Entered after price cleared PDL
-Exited after channel broke 200sma

Probably should have taken at least some profit after the spike down *shaking head*.....

-Entered when price broke PDH
-I closed when I ASSUMED price was going to come back below ADR high....but it didn't actually cross below and ended up continuing up lol.

BUT I did re enter after price retested ADR high
Took profit after price broke my speedline. As it turns out, I should have left some running because price kept going after it tested the 55 channel

I had some others too, but they are too embarrassing to post lol

Hello everyone - been a while!

Although I'm still of the opinion that most of the building blocks required for creating a consistently profitable trading approach are already present, either here or in my Journal, I'm happy to provide feedback on individual trades or issues you are having.

I haven't decided yet whether or not I'll produce any new content in the Journal but I understand that it can be frustrating to struggle on your own so please feel welcome to reach out in this thread if I can help at all. Time is precious though, so I do ask that you put some work in to find the answer within existing materials where possible.

Yes it has, so what have you been up to these last few years.??

Do you still have a discord channel running and membership availability, would be nice to participate with like minded Roadmappers.

In your absence we try to assist those new to your Roadmap, however some folk either do not understand what you have written or incapable of applying your rules of engagement.

In particular the number of folk trading one min charts, amazes me, as you have proved, you can do it, and very well, the big difference is you understanding of the markets.

Never mind, you have provided the necessary building blocks for new folk to work with.

I wasn't around when you originally created this thread and were actively posting, so I am VERY excited you are back! I have been studying and trading Roadmap for a few months now, and I am officially a Roadmaper! I know I have expressed my gratitude to you via pm, but I would also like to publicly thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the time and effort you have dedicated to these threads. Truly selfless and generous. I am grateful!

Here is a trade I took this morning for a loss

I entered when price broke and retested PDH, albeit not the greatest entry. RSI and MTF were in confluence as well.
Is this just one that didn't go my way? Or was it not a valid entry?

I do spend a lot of time reviewing other peoples charts to try and understand their trading ideas, if I believe I can help I may submit a comment, as Laura has offered, but her comment re time is precious, so do apply yourselves, is very important.

Unfortunately I can't really maintain my Discord involvement enough to invite people in but who knows what the future holds.

Hi Ian,

A couple of things jump out from your chart.

Let's deal with the general first. It looks like a pretty bad time to be seeking an entry. Volatility is super-low and price is churning in a narrow range.

To be more specific, your entry isn't ideal (regardless of the low volatility environment) - the most recent close outside of the channel was to the downside. We ideally want to see a close above the channel as that signifies a higher potential for bullish momentum. Once you get that close above the channel you can either enter straight away or wait for a retrace inside the channel, to hopefully achieve a better price. If you follow price action lower down after your entry, you'll notice the first close above the channel was a much more optimal buy point (still not good overall due to low volatility, but you hopefully get the drift).

Finally, look at SMA. We really don't want to entering while that is flat. It tells us there is no directional bias at that time. Notice the difference toward the end of your chart - it begins to bend.
