Hmmm..

I have this problem of starting threads and then slowly letting them fade away.. Well, this one's not dying!

In all seriousness, I have been doing lots and lots of research, and I may have come up with a seriously GOOD method. I believe I will continue to post my BB trades in the BB forum, and start on a new venture with my new method(keep in mind I've got 2 seperate accounts going). I wish to continue testing it out, but below are my current trades using it.

These trades represent nearly a 17% increase in account balance ($467). It's very rewarding trading this small amount of money because it means nothing to me and the psychological factor is nonexistent.

My trades will be posted from here on out.

That's some nice trades there Kharvell! I'm following your BB on steroids every day, and I really like it. Too bad I almost have no time to trade and make posts now days...

By the way... I see that you're long on EUR/JPY... I'm currently short, hmmm... been doing some study on your old BB method with a stoch. filter, and it's definetly saying short. We'll see where it goes....

Hmmm... My EUR/JPY daily chart isn't looking so good for short in reference to BB signals. It failed to close in the channel as we are nearing my close of the candle, and also weekly stochastic is too neutral for me to partake.

I'm pretty heavily invested in JPY crosses expecting a lot of currencies to go up versus the yen.


I have entered another lot into CAD/JPY. This seems to be my pip raker at the moment. Check out this chart on the hourly of how I have been devouring it.

Long CAD/JPY @ 107.78
S/L = 107.23

Well, I think I can officially say I've had my best 1.5 week of trading recently and it is still going on. My USD/CAD trade listed above got stopped out, but no worries. I shorted EUR/CAD last night to make up for it because USD/CAD JUST hit my S/L then went down(figures).

Total current pips: +565 pips or +27.05%

are you following Jacko's trend following method, or are you using your BB system? You mentioned in Jacko's thread thatyou had developed an entry methos to jump into a trending trade. Do you mind if you can elaborate a little about it?

I'm enjoying JPY and CAD crosses lately, and decided to extend my happiness a little longer. However, these two trades below are approaching resistance/support, so we'll just see what happens for the sake of experimentation.

S/L = 1.5047

when you determine the trend on 1 day chart, do you use the stoch(25,15,15) ?

This is an attempt at a tutorial of how I am trading. I'm afraid I will have to attach all the pictures, and you will have to open them accordingly as I mention them. We will analyze why I have entered CAD/JPY so many times.

First of all, here's a picture of all the prices I have bought CAD/JPY at. Look at Mytrades.png attached below. So far, so good. It's quite easy what I am doing. I am just jumping in on a biiig uptrend, I don't know if I'm just in it at the end, or just the middle, but man it's big.

Open up my CAD-JPYDaily.png file, now. I have 4 EMA's on the graph. They are periods 8 and 12(green), 24(yellow), and 72(red). These are based off of lever70's Cornflower system. We will only look at these on the hourly charts because that's his method and it gives us great entries. But basically we need about 100 or so candles on our chart, and we will use multiple timeframes to see what's happening.

So, here's what my thought process was:

I look on the daily chart, and look where the price is on the left of my chart. If it is lower than where the price is now, then my analysis is DONE! It's an uptrend. It's as easy as that. Thanks Jacko. I drew a purple line showing where I look for those that still don't get it. If you follow the purple line from left to right, and the price has gone up, you have an uptrend.

Next, I switch to the 3-hour chart(4-hour is cool, too). Look at my CAD-JPY3hour.png file now. This is a huge uptrend. You don't get much more decisive than this. But really all I'm looking for is the price to move diagonally up or down. In this instance it is clearly going up from 100 or so candles ago to now. I drew in with a purple line here as well.

The last part is the fun part. You get to enter the big trend we've been seeing. Check out my CAD-JPY1Hour.png file. This is where you pay attention to what the EMA's are doing. Also, the first thing we want to do here is analyze like we have been doing. We look to see if the price moves diagonally up or down. Of course, this is going up on the hourly. I marked it with a purple line at a 100 candle point. The chart is much more zoomed out here to show all my entries recently.

This is the Cornflower system part. All I do is wait for pullbacks to the green EMA's, and if they show any bull bounces, I just buy. It's as easy as that. Please note that this is only a perfect setup. It hardly ever trends straight up like this on a lot of pairs.

good stuff Kevin. that is one sexy trend going on there with cad/jpy. makes me wish my broker offered that pair.

I'm currently riding the usd/cad short for a while now though.

Great explanation kevin. And an excellent example of how to accomodate different trading systems to get the best from them.

This tutorial has opened my eyes to try not to see each system as a vaccum that should work by itself, but as a part of a more complete system that will improve the success rate.

I'm guessing some sort of news event happened last night on JPY. One of my CAD/JPY lots, GBP/JPY, and EUR/JPY were all stopped out for -50 pips each.

Also, the hourly chart of CAD/JPY is unconvincing at best, so I got rid of all my lots now. Check out my CAD-JPYHourly.png file. Look how the purple line is virtually horizontal from left to right. This is MY creation for exiting. It's really not based on backtests or anything, just what seems logical to me.

Last but not least, I have entered in another short lot USD/CAD. I'll give you my charts again. Check out USD-CADDaily.png. The purple line indicates a downtrend.

Next, we look at the USD-CAD3hour.png chart. The trend is clearly down here as well as shown by the purple line.

Lastly, let's look at why I entered. You can see that when I entered(orange down arrow) that the price looked like it was bouncing of the 72 EMA. However, now it has turned around on me. I am not concerned however due to the long tails of the last 2 hours indicating that this 72 line is strong resistance. Lesson here: wait til the close of candles.

I am Short EUR/CAD as well, again.

The reasoning is virtually the same as above. The only thing worthy of looking at is the entry which differs a bit. The price headed back towards the green and yellow EMA's and is now showing bearish confirmation. This is a good sign to enter short.

Things turned interesting with CAD crosses. I had so many lots (7-8) that I'm not really sure what ended up happening besides adding money to my account. Basically, I cashed all my CAD crosses in, and started from scratch today.

In the 2.5 weeks I have been trading with this new analysis, my account rose about 13-14% and that's with factoring all the losers at 1.5% risk per trade. I'm quite pleased by this.

Trade today(so far):

Long GBP/CHF @ 2.4311
S/L = 2.4254

On the Daily chart in the top left corner, I've drawn a blue line from the left to the right and it is sloping up(uptrend).

On the 4-hour chart in the top right corner, I've drawn a blue line from left to right and it also is sloping up(uptrend).

The hourly chart is found on the bottom, and shows a bit of a skip off the green EMA's. Also, notice how on the left of the screen it is lower than on the right of the screen(uptrend).

Now, let's see if I'm right!
