Even on M1 charts, and certainly on longer TF, the most basic concepts of WRB (Wide Range Bar) Outside Bar, Inside Bar are very useful.
I also use M Candles like M5 candle containing M1 PA and so forth
these candles by themselves are making sense on any TF, just PA and the structure
Celebrating discipline.

Hi guys thanks for all the information! Could this be applied to stocks too? There are market cycles to stocks and economic cycles so I'm wondering if it works here in the same way
Ignored
I am not sure but:
UK shares might be too slow moving?
Look for volatile shares in the USA.
Test on different time frames.
First couple of hours after open might be best time to seek price movement ( AS we do on indices)
Others might chime in here if they trade shares.

Last one before Christmas. Thought I would post this one as it is not a straightforward trade. You have to think and have a prepared plan of action to follow.
Note the failed long and short trades: That signals, to me, that we may have the start of a range. I draw a horizontal from the failed trades and WAIT for a break. Note price broke above 200ma, the channel and UK 8am open line and the 50 level(not shown)

An example of having to wait awhile for a trade. Price ranging between prior marked channel. Failed break then, finally, a break short for a profit just before I finished for the morning.

Hi Turnip

Just found this thread and will read each and every page. Just some questions since you seem to be very active here.

1) What became of LauraT?? She is not here anymore.
2) Is the Slack group still existing??
Read post #1 !! Then read it again 10 more times before you ask.

So - just for fun I bought a microlot on a fail. Now I see that RSI is 54, so should not have bought Short. And Frakfurt does not open before in 2 hours, but hey, I can loose only 0.75$. And I entered directly at some resistance point. Not smart either.

And then came London Open. I lost.

I am so lazy.
Allways makes tools to help me trade. And share if anybody wants them. I do not take requests for extra functionality. The tools are made for me. You may use them as is.

So this time I found this Roadmap thread and want to try it out. I know that Hanover made a very fine tool - a little too fine for me. And I allways make my own anyway.

So this is my tool for this strategy. I am new and does only trade when the SMA200 is hit.

It gives an alert when price cross SMA200. And EMA8High cross SMA200 up. And EMA8Low cross SMA200 down.

As a bonus it shows the actual split in the right upper corner.

You can set it to screen alert and mobile phone alert.

It also can give a stochastich alarm. Not part of this strategy, but I just expanded a tool I have that give stachastich alarms. You can switch that function off.

It is an indicator and must be placed in the indicator folder of MT4.

It is not fully tested, please let me know if there are faults.

How I use it.
I have two monitors that together shows 28 Forex pairs. When I get a signal, I colour the background yellow. Then I watch how it develops. This way it is easy to overlook interesting instruments. If the instrument is no longer of present interest, then I colour the background white again.

Man am I lazy. Had to ad some functions to my RoadMapAlarm.

Now:

  1. It automatically paint the background in case of an alert.
  2. It paint the background if you own the instrument. Different colours for, Long, Short, Hedge.

This way it is very easy to overview which instruments you own, in which direction or if there are instruments that have your focus.
Change the colours to your personal liking in the settings.

NOTE! When the chart get a colour you must manually change back to the normal colour on the chart if you don't need the colour anymore. Because the robot cannot know when you decide no more interest in the instrument.

If you donīt want this new functionality, just stay with the first version.
