Yes, very very quick mostly! specially on news time.
SMT is not compulsory in every setup though, if it is there good enough.

Well, Lets look at the price action, i will deep dive in to 1 Min. while keeping H/Ls of HTF in picture.
There is no fresh fvg left but an old H1 fvg extended in time and NY daily open level, notice how price action started making HLs from H4,H1 and M30 all aligned going back up.

A Fvg is also called an Imbalance once fvg is filled there is no imbalance left, is called a balance price range or bpr.

Can trade until 30 min to news time, and should wait 1 hours after the news settled.

Price will create a tight range and may stay tight, slowly taking each highs and lows expanding on both sides, until news.
