Williams%R, SAR X-over 15 minute candles

Slow start then a fast 50 Ticks, as you can seen my entry was a couple of candles late price was moving rapidly/

took one more trade not much there 5 ticks.

Forgot to set my alarm last night so got a late start had a couple od small wins followed by a loss. Finally got a mover and have 50 ticks locked in we'll see what happens.

Ok out of last trade for +100 done for the day.

5 trades for the day 3 winners and 2 B/E's. Trend was Up but kind 0f jumpy up with a lot of back and forth movement but fairly solid price structure. So while it wound a fairly large move up not really a super strong trend. Last trade was short after trend exhaustion, which tou can see in the RSI movement and weak ADX readings. Have a last trade not done yet but +20 ticks locked in that will be my last trade of the day.

That's it stopped out for 20 ticks

I trade 6E futures for the EURUSD and 6B futures for the GBPUSD. I use the Ninjatrader ATM strategy function to automatically set a stop loss and a take profit. I set the stop loss to $156.50 per contract (25 pips) and $312.50/contract (50 pips) take profit. When trading more contracts, I multiply those figures by the number of contracts. For example, if I am trading 3 contracts, my stop loss is $469.50 and my take profit is $937.50.

I set to a breakeven +2 pip stop when price goes +30 pips or more in my favor OR if price hits a round number, e.g. if I short 6B (GBPUSD futures) at 1.2189 like I did today, I moved the stop loss to 1.211.87 when price made it to 1.2150.

Why the late entry? Because I stayed flat until NFP, and then waited for price to make a bounce/continuation ... I took the 50 pips and I'm probably done for the day. Why one 1 contract today?

Because of NFP and volatility. You never know what is going to happen.

This is how I have my Ninjatrader strop loss/take profit strategy set up for one 6B contract based on currency. One contract is $6.25 USD/pip, so $156.25 = 25 pip stop loss, and $312.50 profit = 50 pip take profit

Also, I should point out that I use the EMA 18 of the high and the EMA 18 of the low. rocky I believe uses the 9 EMA of the high and of the low.

EDIT: Looking at rocky's charts I am reminded he is currently using the 8 ema of the high and low. I am using the 18 ema of the same.

I'm short now at B/E price moving slowly.

Took a couple of more trades 1 nice win and a loss, will post in a little while. Spending some time with my students this morning.

Not a good day for me. I blew my discipline. Thankfully I didn't blow my account as well. I had the first entry correct for the short. However, I moved my SL too close, too soon, and then let myself go long in absence of a signal. Started shorting again soon after. I way over traded. Gross profit $493.75 but net profit only $427.67, so $66.08 in commissions and exchange fees. I usually hit my 50 pip/tick per day goal in one or two trades, so this was not a good performance. Yes, I finished profitable on the day, but I am not at all happy with how I got there.

I have mentioned before that I am using a hybrid trading method. I use a version of rocky's system with some changes, and I use the 15 minute chart and Stacey Burke's timing windows, levels, set ups approach. Both rocky's and Stacey Burke's approaches were signaling short today. Both methods are much better than what I traded today. I did not do either justice. I will need to think about this today and tomorrow commit to discipline and more discipline.

The one thing that is positive is that though I overtraded, after that one stupid long, I overtraded in the right direction based on the EMA signal.

Ok her's my final trades I'm done for the day. Satisfied Mondays usually not the best trading days.

Really proud of my students 15 have passed their evaluations and are making money. They have taken over resopsibility for the payments on the office space and utilities, now I'm just an occasional sounding board. Which is exactly what I want to see. They work together and help each other and actually all of them are getting better grades in school. Won't be adding anymore students as office space is maxxed out.

Shitty days happen, keeping them at least a little profitable is awesome, recognizing what you screwed up on is even more aesome.Discipline is learned by taking responsibilty for when you don't follow the rules you set for yourself. Truly understanding yourself as a trader is incredibly important to suceeding.

What kept me on the plus side of the ledger was that I trade two templates: One based on your most recent method here and one based on Stacey Burke's approach. Both were pointing in the same direction this morning.

I really just screwed up from the get go this morning.

My plan would have had me short three near the early US highs, probably a fill at 1.2306. I would have covered one contract for +50, another for +84, and I'd still be short one contract targeting Friday's low at 1.2139 (which is exactly the price my short on Friday's NFP reaction was covered).

I can't do anything about it now. I'm watching the 6B and I think there is a really good chance it trade to 1.2139 or lower today. But I'm done chasing. I kept it green, and I'll be back at it tomorrow morning. No excuse today. I had to deal with an issue with my wife's car first thing this morning, and I got to my desk late and unprepared. Entered the first trade a bit late and with the wrong size (too small). From there I got flustered andI just never got in tune with the market.

I'm trading 6B only these days as I work on marrying Burke's method with my version of your template. I'm on a good run, but today the discipline flew out the window. That $400+ profit might look good on paper, but had I traded my plan, I'd have $837.50 gross in the bank and I'd be sitting on around $830 in open trade profits, with a profit target that would yield another $1043.75 gross in addition to the $800+ I'd have already banked.

So though I finished "green" for the day, my lapse in discipline and failure to adhere to my trading plan really did cost me quite a bit.
