Market looks for liquidity pools at obvious & nearest places. GU looks very congested, and very unpredictable.

My Dax round up
Dax seems better for me in the morning as opposed to sp500 in the afternoon
Dax is traded one minute time frame whilst sp500 is on 5 minute for now.
Dax levels coincided with time, levels and round number for nice long.

Even the sp500 can be traded pre - USA Open. Some prefer it but that doesn't solve my problem of seeking an afternoon ( USA session) trading vehicle and time scale. Might stick with 5 minute sp500 for a while in case earlier problems might simply down to market flow for those days and , of course, me.

What are the typical spreads for Dax & Sp500 on your brokers platform ?

Yes, in London I look at one hour prior to London open ( that one hour happens to include the first hour of Frankie Open at 7am. So 7am to 8am is my pre market hour open. Then ( for me) 8am to about 10:30am is my London equity open and trading session window. I will look at high/lows; BRN's: inflexion (consolidations)levels prior to London open. Than watch price. Difficult to put into words except that you watch and chat with people here then actually trade to find those "aha" moments when things click for yourself. So read what you find here then try your version. People will pitch in to help. Not everyday will be wonderful ( I'm still battling afternoon USA sp500 trading set ups to find a solution that I will fearlessly trade on every set up. All my lines etc do not make an entry because I exercise "discretion" as to when I trade a set up. I realise my problem is me in the afternoon, for some reason. But I will get there) But I only use one minute for Dax and (so far) 5 minutes for sp500, therefore, I do not look to far back for supports etc.

Top left window on charts. ( these are CFD's)
Futures vary and are usually "tighter" ? Tradestation -for example will use Tradingview charts.
Other brokers:

These are a mix of Futures and CFD Brokers.

Go to the CFD brokers web site on Tradingview. Usually 10pence a pip upwards.
Futures are different. You Micro and mini etc Futures - Look up CME website for details. ( $2 upwards)

I hadn't marked it in earlier. By coincidence it was at, or near, a 50 level

The zeppelin shape ellipse is where price is wedging up under another previously drawn level. I. probably would have been stopped out of a long then a short in that area and be waiting now for next move or bugger off cos it's nearly 4pm here and don't want to lose any early gains.. So I either stay alert for another hour or stick to my small session times - usually 3 hours max -4:30pm for US market.
