my view
usindex close to S, eurusd close to R

so if we are below R (cca0.9866) (eurusd)= short eurusd, after overcome R = long

I'm searching for means to determine if the current price action will be enough to push this pair beyond the previous high of .9997 level...

Any suggestion what indicator(s) should I look for? Thanks!

In case you hadn't noticed, the charts we all post on here are garbage, retail day traders lose money and this is all a waste of time unless you enjoy gambling. Good luck in your search for the Philosopher's Stone.

Don't Blame Friend Analysis .... If it's useful to use ... if it's useless, don't use ... trading according to their respective trading plans ... All posts are just a picture of information, unless you can move prices

sideways, liquidity, trend ... ready to move, not yeat ready to move, not interest ... factor to read

Not all Smart Money efforts immediately succeed ... Efforts to make/stop the trend can be dragged or often not immediately happening

ONLY WITH WYCKOF METHOD CAN SEE PROCESS SIDEWAYS AND TREND WITH COMPLETE VIEWS .... BUT ABOUT TOOLS UP TO YOU .... SOME WYCKOFFIAN USE PNF CHART TO SEE THE PATTERN , RANGE DAN TARGET .... I USE RENKO DAN FIBONACCI WITH MODIFY LEVEL (USE LAW 2 = CAUSE AND EFFECT) .... BUT TO SEE SUPPLY AND DEMAND = USE BAR CHART/CHANDLESTICK CHART + VOLUME INDICATOR, BUT.... BECAUSE VOLUME IN FOREX = PSEUDO .... WE ARE ONLY USE TICK VOLUME DUE TO THE OVER COUNTER MARKET (OTC) /DECENTRALIZED MARKET .... BETTER USE VOLUME INDICATOR IN INTRADAY TF
All my analysis is based on Wyckoff Methods

Regrettably, but also with respect to all, I have to agree with Loon on this one. The risk of ruin retail investors experience with this FX space, especially with leverage.

I don't think it's realistic to expect to get rich from FX trading. There are dreams being sold, openly and publicly to retail that are simply not attainable. I may be pointing out the obvious, but sometimes common sense just isn't that common, when stimuli of quick money override all rational thinking.

Something like 10x your deposit from $1k to $10k is not impossible, but you just can't do that continuously every week, or month. That sort of gain was simply unsustainable. There are other assets out there that can grow at those exponential rates, and FX isn't one of them.

A risk free way is to invest long term. I don't know what are the usual average return retail trader get, but judging from the many threads and posts, I believe there are jobs in the industry out there with pay that outcompete average returns. The way I see FX for retail is more of a retirement pastime. You earned enough from your career, saved up a retirement pot and now have a carefree life. You now want to grow this pot, beating inflation and invest for your future. You allocate a small portion of your savings into FX, so you have a routine to play with everyday, like a meaningful job, but with a purpose and aim, doing a respectable 20-25% return a year.

The way big money does it is they have passive investments and active investments/trading...

From what I've heard so far, the passive portion outweighs the active portion in a basket.

And from experience meanwhile, if you don't have the capital or patience to pool resources for passive investing, you just have to learn the ropes and discipline of active trading in order to build your nest egg...

Returned to forex just two months ago and I am still trying to recoup lost capital at present --- recovered the previous loss but lost it again just a few days after. I am still learning and continuously refining my trading method. Hopefully I can shorten the learning curve further.

All is not lost.

I am in recovery mode just like you. I started trading far back in 2015. I lost a lot. I left. I got back in 2020. That was when I registered on this forum. Before now, I have just been following the news. I made just a little profit and lost even more.

I just returned a few months back and I am so determined to recover all I have lost from inception. The biggest profit I have made is from USDJPY. I made over $1,500 in a week. The biggest lost I have made is from GBPUSD. Lost over $1,600.

I WILL RECOVER ALL!!!

Just be patient... and trade well this time.

Seems like we share the same experience.

Did my first trade in 2008. Fund got busted. I returned just late-August.

If you're struggling go to higher time frames, be disciplined (endure the momentary loses), it's much easier to make money.

On scalping/trading i think the problem is people want to get rich doing it when it's much harder then being patient in the higher time frames.

Lbrto and fleps hi.

May I suggest something usefull...? Your losses stem from ONE source . . . . Your knowledge is inadequate. You must increase your knowledge and experience in order to become profitable. This task needs 2 things .

1- Effort. i.e. reading. A LOT of reading.
2- The reading needs TIME and devotion .

While you are on this proccess do not trade real money .

My 2 cents . . .
Good luck. [ by the way ....there is no such think as Luck... ]

or bad luck/anyone trying to get you.
If you're constantly going the other way from the trades, you should just stop, try to see what you're doing wrong, go read, there's some good books, test several indicators but learn what they do, it's a good learning technique, try, try, try, learn, learn, learn.

You should be getting closer with each fail, or you're doing it wrong.

But what i really recommend 1st is leaving all the indicators, and learn price action on the higher time frames. That's the secret to this all thing.
