Fundamental is driving this pair. I dont think this intervantion will work, MOF has to make a long fight to caught the JPY. Trader will continiously try to hit the dip towards. As long as BOJ stay with ultraluss monetary policy JPY will continue to fall.

I put a sell limit order at 145 with a stop loss above 146. Above 145, there might be intervention again.

News in 15m and we are at the lower end of the channel.

the last intervention didn't break 140, so anywhere near that level, I thought that it would be good to buy

Thanks for the idea.
Going long is risky given the intervention but I find if it goes above 143.30~ it might find resistance around 143.77 - 144.00. Otherwise, it may be headed back down to the140 area and below.

Very interesting moment for USDJPY. BOJ has interved on the yen to revaluate it. Such a intervetion is well planne during months with conversations with FED and another important Central Banks if necessary ( see agrement PLAZA on 1985). They are the top of the piramid. Are the only ones what can reverse the markets. If BOJ and partners wants move the market, will do.

See the last important intervetions when markets was at the extremes, the most importants on 1998, 2011, and nowadays on 2022. This intervetions are several durings months if necessary to achieve objetives.

Although USDJPY price action on the daily time frame is in a bullish technical structure, presently it is sideways after a bearish pullback from the multi-year high it printed at the 145.900 area on Thursday. Technicals still favour bulls than bears, but we may have a bearish dip before further bullish drive.

Further intervention by BoJ is limited as this in the long run will put even more pressure on the Yen.
BoJ will have to change direction and raise rates.
Watch for sharp moves be ready to take profits.

I cancelled the sell limit order as I expect another strong push up as the BOJ is not doing anything.

Fundamentally still bullish until rates are raised but BOJ is the elephant in the room

BoJ has limited cash reserves and not what it would take to stop the dollar's climb. The most will be buying opportunities on dips.
Continuing intervention will only cause more inflation and the BoJ knows this.

I just shorted UJ at 144.70 with 40 pip SL. If it breaks out, I lose 40 pips. If BOJ intervenes, I get 10x profit. Insane risk to reward ratio.

I don't know who would still buy UJ with the risk of intervention hanging over the pair. Intervention means stopping out. We know intervention might not work but that doesn't mean BOJ won't do it again. It's a very interesting dynamic going on here.

Watch the 145 level if there is a break and a hold here could be looking at 147 soon

I took profit at 144.7

i still expect it to go higher above 145, but I will wait and see what happens before buying again

if bulls survive another 100 or so pips, there might not be intervention, but an explosion to 147+
