Somebody will realize that 4.6% inflation is a long way from 2% with only 3 months left in the year to get 8% inflation down to 2%.
The news was neutral at best. This was a coiled spring that wanted to pop. If it did pop without substance it can just as easily pop back. The stock market is already starting to reverse its losses.

Head fake to trap the bulls before tanking. Not gonna fake me out though. I'm strong with my short. Just waiting patiently. After all the typical BS, it will finally resume the trend and make new lows.

How ironic that this pop coincided with the Euro session close, meanwhile you grab a map on Europe and it's clearly set on fire.

I've observed that session opens/closes often have volatility spikes. But fundamentals are most definitely still in play, just on longer timeframes. The time to sell is coming, maybe at FOMC with the rate announcement.

btw does anyone else do this? i don't think this is hedging as the purpose is different, but i let the big play do it's thing in this case going long, and made a quick short bet for the day, and i made money on the 2. This seemed so weird, but it worked out.

I was not going to close the big play as i still believed in it. At the same time why not do a side bet shorting for some minutes or hours if i fell that's what was going to happen.

This could also go bad on both cases so i'm running on winning adrenaline so i may be oversimplifying things, it wouldn't be the 1st time.

But look at the big TFs like Monthly and even quarterly that all went down. ALL of those TFs need to have RALLIES on smaller TFs followed by the down continuations. So if the rally is happening on D2, your selling will be on the D2 retracement that is NOT going down to make new lows, but going down for some profit taking and preparation for BUYING the D2 up continuation. So as things stand at the moment, price is expected to stay above 0.986 and then if that ensuing D2 up continuation can follow through, then price is expected to go above 1.02.

No faking involved. No need to guess if the current D2 pullback will make a lower low (and be a failure) or if it will progress as a normal retracement: Just watch what it ACTUALLY does, and follow along.

I don't typically leave running my trend trade to give back many pips (or even go red by much), so don't normally have any reason to hedge to harvest the retracements. Instead, I just exit the trend trade, decide if the retracement is likely to have worthwhile pips and trade it if it does. Then decide if the trend continuation has a worthwhile setup to get back in.

And this is likely why you're on the adrenaline roller coaster: You made your trade decisions based on feelings rather than on some metric that indicates a high probability that your decision will end in profit.

actually no, the first was based on support and resistance and the 2nd on indicators, not saying i'm always right but i've been most right then wrong. you can look it up on my messages i usually put entry and exit.

English is not my first language but obviously no one is sure of what will happen, or we would all be millionaires, all we do is guess/fell/whatever you want to call it what is going to happen. If anyone claim "they know" they are full of BS.

Go back and i called the last top and bottom, i would have to be a felling whisperer to get those 2 right in a row.
