This is a pattern that I call "Channeling at the Top". It is more likely to break out to the upside rather than the downside.

When price is "Channeling at the Bottom". It is more likely to break out to the downside rather than the upside.

You can see that held true when price broke out above the first brown box you drew on the chart after it had been "Channeling at the Top".

robinhood i want to thank you for the book you mentioned as your favourite book (zen in the markets) i read it is great book and the writer mentioned in the book to read the art or war book i also read it the two books are great

Loving this thread, still reading, lol. Whats the MA method on the roadmap? Simple, Exponential, Smooth, Linear Weighted?

I realize that English may not be your first language. With that being said, I don't exactly understand what you are asking me to explain. Maybe try asking it a different way and then I will do my best to answer it.

Otherwise, I trade TMSr in exactly the same ways on every time frame. As you must know from reading the thread, I use many different types of entry and exit methods using the TMSr indicators.

In the same way that no professional athlete on uses only one pitch, or only one punch, or only one golf club, I don't either regarding trading.

Dear RH, I have placed a volume indicator that I find very useful to understand when a signal can have explosive force or not. I know well that in forex with CFDs volumes have no value.
It's a fact.
But I invite you to add this indicator on your configuration and check, at each signal when the volumes break their average.

I will check these indicators out when I get some extra time.

I think it would be most helpful if you post one or more charts with these indicators on them and show us specifically how you are using them.

Hey Robinhood, just wanted to thank you for this system. I just started demo trading last week, so it's still a quite long way, but this system (method....) is something simple to get started with and it makes a lot of sense. It was also very easy to set it up on MT5. If useful I could share the template.

I really like H4 because it filters a lot of intraday noise (though it's easy to jump into e.g. M30 to take a look) and hopefully this way I could develop a daily routine that fits well with my life. Also it's great to see that minimalism in terms of indicators is possible.

If all goes well, I'll gradually pick up some skills and start with some smaller live account next year.

Two questions:

  1. Do you often stay in a trade overnight? E.g. I entered some long trade at LO, and at the end of the day I wasn't stopped out but the trend didn't continue by much either, the pair just ranged. Indicators are still long. Do you just place a SL below the EMA or just leave it be, or rather exit the trade (maybe with some loss), possibly reentering the next day?
  2. How do you deal with correlation? Most majors are highly correlated and we're trading almost the same moves. Do you just pick one pair, or use correlation as a way to diversify risk among pairs by placing multiple trades at the same time?

--I'm a demo newbie, please be cautious.

Yes, I stay in overnight, and when I exit, I exited about 5 mins. before the close at 5 p.m. EST. unless I get stopped out first.

I think Forex traders should only trade 4-6 pairs (or less) at any given time.
