Not traded by me but as a side note: look at Euro - trendy for a change. had a look at E/J which followed a similar pattern. Hey all. What's crackin? I am trying Claudia's idea of trading the 07:45 Min break for a fixed +20/-10. I am still looking for a simple plan that will just potentially leave me at a little profit by the end of the month without having to be all over the place, watch 30 different pairs/markets and what else there is you can all do.

Now the last 5 days it seems like a 5 x -10 loss in a row (which wouldn't be a problem for me if overall i would come put positive at the end of a month) Yesterday i tried executing that plan for the first time but could not even place orders as quickly as price was moving. The moment i wanted to place my pending buy/sell stops in while price was scratching around the high of the range established at that certain time (about 2-3 seconds before 08:00) it then dropped.

Today it looks similar to the days before. Luckily I didn't take the trade as I wasn't home. Here's my chart showing the 07:45-08:00 setup highlighted.

Hi - welcome back.

Have a look at the German 40. I'm doing well on that using the break of 06.45 bar (London time).

Mr T trades the same looking for 5 to 10 pips.

Hi Claudia.

Well, yes. I plan to backtest the range break for both times and instruments using a -10 to +20 Pips risk to reward.

@Claudia, is that correct? The range is 08:45-09:00 on my chart because the broker is 2 hours ahead of UK time.

Looks like to me that yesterday price broke both ends several times (high/low). The high broke for about 13 Points but so did the low for 9.

Now its currently in progress to develop the range for today. Time 06:52 am (UK time).

06:58 - Placed a pending buy stop at the high but as price was moving near the low end i couldn't manually do so for the short entry otherwise it might would have triggered before 08:00.

08:02 - It now broke the low.

08:06 - Would have been stopped out with the potential low break that i failed to place. The pending buy stop however broke but was stopped out as well with a -10 Points.

Similar picture with Frankfurt Open for GBP/USD. Price crossed both sides of the range. First the low, then the high, then the low again and since then moving below.

Cable has just broken through the 00-00 4 hour bar range, this is a good sign.
So we had the high trigger and now low.
Bring it on, i am waiting to trade off the 07-45 bar.

The high broke and i went long, i didn't really want to and i was surprised price moved up lol. i got 1% ( actually 2.06 %

Dax 15 min chart just copied.
That inside bar we had on the 4 hour. the low was 13347.
Low broke =1. it did not break at =2(very nearly did).

So the low broke for approx 20 and then price moved back up =3,
If you were still in the short trade you would be minus 50???? when price moved back up.
Then price dropped for +70.

Now you know why i always trade for a few points.

we did have a helpful clue on the bar before, namely ( almost a pin bar).

Dax 6:45am bar was an overall loser but managed. The one minute after 8am is going well but one has to be aware of levels now since no strong trend is evident for me yet.So I am level hopping . First loser "X" was under 200ma and just below one of my own drawn levels from the left pre London open !!.

Sorry Bird. The approach I use is Laura's "Roadmap." I should really post on there since it clearly causes confusion here.
I adapted it slightly -channel break by a bar with the high and low of that bar as a stop. Close price when price exit bar on other side OR it breaks your trendline(speed line) which manages your trade. Levels on the left prior to London open and recent levels should cause you to watch trade closely (I often fail at this and enter trades when price is banging against a level.) Long loser followed by short loser should cause you to draw appropriate lines and wait for those levels to be broken.
