It's also funny when people dismiss the importance and presence of human philosophy in their thinking and therefore in their trading activities.

Too many people 'just assume they're right' when they think about things in mathematical or scientific terms only re: their trading etc. Maybe it was their upbringing, or perhaps their childhood education or perhaps it's a personal choice. Whatever the circumstances, it is a fact of Life that the human brain carries different layers of the types of thinking and processes. If anyone doubts this, then go spend a day or two with a neurosurgeon or someone else who HAS TO learn about these things to do their job exceptionally well, considering the field they're in.

Not ALL "Philosophy" is the same. Not all of it is about "thinking deep thoughts" or trying to impress girls. Hehehehe.

One of the problems people face altogether, is this assumption that at any given time, place or space, only ONE subject is present to be identified and used or put to work. So it is essential that people start to realistically realize that doing the bare minimum within their thinking has an effect on all areas. The increased plasticity or elasticity that comes from relating all areas of thinking is far more important than facts and figures.

Now after me saying this, go and look again at that chart pic.

Most people are content to just let someone or something tell them what is in front of them. For me, that reminds me of a lemming, or a Pied Piper rat.

There are other conceivable ways to view Time and Price. But people who only "believe in" a standardized 'minimum wage' view on learning and living, cannot construct any other path than a straight line for themself and then, if things go pear-shaped, or simply don't work out the way they expected, they do not understand what actually happened or where things went 'wrong'.

This post and its related ones are possibly the most pertinent to anyone wanting to learn, as it aids in unfolding the issue of trading and 'how to do it in a way that's different to everyone else'..... thus expressing this change in the person through their results or outcomes as well as appreciating their real world responsibilities, now that something has changed in them.

All of what is stated here are the tools necessary to "create" or at least try to understand the workings of Time and Price as a leveraged reference and not a 2 dimensional graph on a screen. People who only look at trading as a means to an end i.e. get money etc, have automatically agreed with the idea that a situation only houses 1 or 2 pieces of subject matter at any one time. This of course is impossible: for example, if you merely look at someone fresh out of high school who carries in their head the content (or at least SOME of it anyway) from the many subjects they studied or were introduced to while in school. The brain, despite the fact that a person may not immediately recall it on demand, DOES in fact hold A LOT of information from past experiences. And therefore, more than 1 or 2 subject content DOES in fact exist in the same space at any given time. * This is a VERY simple example but one that no one can refute as everyone experiences this as they grow up.

The intersection of filtered time and price is what a usual chart displays. And this is feasibly, why, to someone like me, most people on these sites would be akin to 'fish in a barrel' for the upper echelons because they do not comprehend the 'version' that is placed before them. Even the 'more experienced' traders etc need to understand this from a real life view, as trading is merely one activity out of thousands that go on everyday on this planet. The issue is people do not see it this way and think as many who came before them - "Oh it's so difficult/complicated/confusing". News Flash - it's delivered that way.

Being too practical or pragmatic with trading will always create a deficit. Why? Because while your attention is on being "productive" you are not seeing the other things that go on.

So that chart with the channels and the other elements shown on there, is more than enough to help.

That's why I said to take lots of notes because a person who seeks only the answer is missing the point of being alive. 'Means to an end'. You cannot have one without the other. And it never works when you invert them as you'll not learn anything.

things on these sites and many are just cardboard cutouts of what has already been said or even from something I have said. It shouldn't and doesn't come as any surprise, but even still, I am amazed at how many BS stories people tell themselves to justify 'doing something'.

For instance, if you start something online, and you say you do it mainly or only for you, then why put it online at all?

If you want to talk about problems or issues, why re-advertise the problem or issue without showing people HOW to solve or resolve the true issue?

To me, this is just propaganda and 'filler' and can easily be seen as part of the whole problem with people asserting their attention on information as knowledge, instead of knowledge as the gateway to real knowledgeable understanding and wisdom that can then morph into your life.

People who think like so ..... "Trading is a real thing and is big and it's important and there's so much to learn and know" (or its opposite of course) have missed the point, and will continue to miss the point, IF, they continue to ignore specific ingredients that are present whether they agree they are there or not.

Ingredients such as - facts and figures are always man made and only hold value IF you don't know or understand anything else involved. Next, trading has little to do with money. It's true focus is the game of "what do you understand about the world around you"

I am sorry to say, that less than 5 people I have ever encountered on all these types of sites in total, actually appreciate this. And no, it wouldn't be who you think they would be. Any real to Life lifetime "trader/investor" stays well clear of "social sites" or social getups re: trading etc. Why? You cannot talk stupid out of anyone. So the more observant person has a very hard time trying to talk any sense into someone who prefers to be stubborn or pigheaded. Some of my best long term friends do not talk about what they do with anyone outside a very closed circle. Why? Most people in REAL LIFE will never reach any true level of acceptable success in their work (the way they're approaching everything), so trying to "help them" is wasted on those who prefer to limit their thinking and believe the sales spiel handed to everyone that relates directly and indirectly to the world markets.

Granted I've seen 'some' on these sites who show signs of going further, however, they pull up short of the mark (for whatever reason), so their followers, subscribers or readers miss out on the real stuff.

I'm not bragging or gloating here. All of the people I have known are very private about what they do and HOW they do what they do.

Why?

They understand the landscape, pure and simple. They don't waste their time with 'kid's stuff'.

There is no "The Big guys vs the little guy". There is no "them vs Us". There is simply US. All for One and one for all. If you really do not understand that concept, then you have been duped into believing "what people say about trading", whether you're a "trading coach" or a person who considers themself "good" at what you do.

The illusion of "status" and the size of your bank account in this game, is what stops people from seeing that a real true blue lifetime investor of their time and money, will NEVER openly divulge everything because of the nature of the game. Period. So surface layer "helping" only intensifies the problems.

As does lynch mobbing someone or certain elements in this world. It causes greater and deeper problems. A real coach or guide seeks only to help someone be and do better, but this never happens by giving them a $300 pair of Nike's and expecting them to outperform the old version of themself.

Fake helpers do not want the person to get better, they like that person staying in their box and being ever-reliant on them.

A real helper is capable and willing to take that person on the journey necessary to surpass the bullshit and lies and abuse a person will receive by trying to walk around while keeping their eyes shut.

THAT is the real game here. Money is just one context.

So, what to do about this?

First, get the attitude of someone who is WILLING to learn, not scab or leech or copy or imitate.

Next, learn how to think in a way that strengthens your natural ability to solve problems.

NB - If you cannot do it in your real life then it will NOT happen in your trading activities. And vice versa. PERIOD.

I have seen SO MANY comparisons made between different types of traders and it's hilarious and ridiculous.

IF you want to know what you can earn from your trading, here is a real life simple approach .....

"What you put into it is defined by what you LEARN not what you get out of it." If you have not learned anything, you cannot hope to repeat it. And, furthermore, you will never EVER, see the changes coming down the pipeline because you're too busy patting yourself on the back for all you've "achieved".

This in fact is a very serious thing. The issue talked about here is why we now have stupid being considered the new "smart" and why people do not recognize first up - If you are ignorant and or gullible BEFORE you walk in the door, then there's a 100% probability that you will still be that same way, once inside and being conned or talked into something. Being someone with a good nature or being a nice person has nothing to do with it AT ALL.

Being cynical etc is merely the other side of the same coin. So no surprise there, these people are really no different or better off.

AGAIN, I will state the obvious to anyone reading this =

If you do not understand the game and its true landscape, then you will fall for anything, including from people who you think you "know" or trust.

Unfortunately, it requires courage to take this step away from storytelling and incomplete fact checking.

You need to grow up in a way that most people will shun or spit on, but that there proves that it's worth the journey...... IF you have enough self respect.

True learning is a thinking feeling reflecting actioning reviewing reflecting responsive process. So too much science and maths cannot save you from your ignorance. As I've said before, what you DON'T understand is more effective than what you do. This is why context and an inclusive mental-emotional process is necessary, NOT 'preferable' ..... but necessary.

People assume things don't change ....... until they do. Victim who then becomes the bigger victim.

Trading is merely one activity out of thousands.

So ..... what will you do next ????

Most want the big score without doing the work. Now why is that?

Literally most of the population believe you need "more money" to solve your problems.

Directional Bias Vs Directional Interest

While many people try to get an EA or indicator to do for them what they really need to do for themself, they forget that the financial markets are a lot older than they are. Therefore certain things have not changed at all while other things have and it is the responsibility of each person to determine which is which.

Are you using your tools to gauge bias or interest?

Many use outside resources but fail to realize that all things in trading come full circle in the end.

So why wait til the end to start learning?

Some tools will clearly show one or the other or sometimes both.........Directional Bias and or Directional Interest

And here is the distinction - tools that can show both are going to naturally offer safer passage with your money.

Eg. - Parabolic SAR.

Most people are idiotic in attitude when they listen to other people. Many indications have a world of knowledge and information to offer but many try and scheme and plot towards their success but don't understand that a tool must have a correlation with something real, otherwise it's meaning is ambiguous and probably harmful. The SAR in the right hands is a HUGE help as it shows orders offered and others absorbed. But to an amateur, it just looks like dots on a chart that go here and there with seemingly little purpose.

SAR is periodic so its intervals are consistent. It discriminates re: its presence based on its chart's actions. For a person who has used order flow and volume and other sources of information like these, you can observe sub level orders, outlier pendings as well as useful marketable price areas. People who chase "the big boys" do not understand that they too must "play the game". Unfortunately though, for people with no imagination, they "need" to see the cold hard facts before they are a "believer".

It's always been the same - Price. Time, Event/Situation. Anyone who says otherwise has not been paying attention to their own trading life.

Many times I have tried to point out to people, that there are no A to B straight lines in trading. Time plays an enormous role in the markets as it is designed to penetrate the space between price movements. You will notice that every applicable form of interval/period design (Eg candlesticks, bars, Renko etc) is equal in its horizontal width. Yes it may sit on a time based chart but even Renko is this way, despite its attempt to eliminate Time from its view. So none are impervious to the basic nature.

Apart from any cost involved, outside resources are great for learning how to map the instrument you trade. Many who start out, just do what others do. But the downside to this, is you cannot learn if you do not stretch. And you cannot stretch unless you see what's happening.

Usually, a drug addict doesn't realize they're addicted until it's too late. It's the same with trading or investing.

So the SAR is a fantastic tool when used the way it's meant to be used. On its own, it's an empty "thing". The same can be said for any tool or indicator. Unless realistically grounded, it's use is ambiguous and this is why many experience the "True/False" outcomes when using it for signals or as a trigger. It has nothing from the real world to connect with on your chart.

Some people realize in time, that outside resources are a means to an end for an invested trader. But speculators are more akin to a child with a new toy than an invested trader. Their focus is on the prize and not the situation. But it is the situation that offers the desired prize.

So to one person, a chart with a line on it may mean nothing. But to another it may show an extended price point of saturation where Time kicks in and something else happens.

Directional Bias Vs Directional Interest

If you are merely following that bleep around on your chart OR your outside resources, then you are probably going to end up making the same mistake others have made before you. If you are too stubborn or immature to admit that this is what you are doing, then you will probably pay a hefty penalty for your ignorance.

Both young and old can suffer from this issue. It doesn't warrant respect only the sympathies of those who have learned the lesson already.

People are foolish to believe money is the answer. It cannot buy a ticket off the stupid train. But it CAN buy you a pair of glasses to see better.

You cannot be one thing with your trading then turn around and go kiss your family with those same lips.

Many try but ends up creating a split mind or schism.

This is where morals, ethics, empathy, compassion come in. And if you think these are useless or just fantasy ideas, then that is a testament to your character, which in turn, will be what you will teach your children and others around you. And then in turn, THEY will treat you the way that all of that imposes.

Not so easy to be a closet sociopath now is it ??!!!!

Whenever you jump into something midstream, you'll eventually find out that where you think you started has nothing to do with anything but your opinion......... and that is effective only when shopping at the supermarket. It has no place (or power) being waved around as if it represents the entire picture.

There would be less problems and suffering in people's lives if we all learned this simple and sweet lesson ........

What I will say here will probably annoy or frustrate the reader but here goes ....

When a person is born into something artificial and knows nothing else, then they tend to believe that it's real. Unfortunately, there have been many films etc that have depicted this and so, now, people either "believe" almost anything these days or, they dismiss more than they probably should, without first understanding how to back check something. Here, facts etc are not enough. Experience is needed but watching a youtube video on how to swim simply won't do it. One needs to slip quietly into the water and realize they are here to learn.

To many, it may seem like I am throwing someone in the deep end and therein is the first problem, the illusion of where the deep end actually exists. For some people they pick up 'science stuff' quickly but fail to see the need for the more abstract. Meanwhile, another person is having an easier go at picking up "the arts" while ignoring the science and maths. So here, is where the map to find the deep end becomes skewed or even disfigured.

Every pool, regardless of its dimensions, or depth, has a deep end and a deeper end but all lead into a shallow, clear watered end. At first look, this may appear to be a play on words, but it's not. It refers to the depth of knowledge or a combination of experience and information and knowledge that becomes more. For eg, something someone could share with and teach their child.... leaving behind a piece of themself after they die. In trading it's no different. It merely appears that way because most people want to stay in safety but relish in hindsight any idea of doing better.

So for me, playing with people's psyche is not in my character and goes against who I am. Now with that said, a person needs to ask a single question ...... do they want to merely eat a fish they have in their hands today, or are they willing to learn without knowing what that learning may yield? ..... The modern person's quandary.

If real life does not coalesce with several of a person's experiences and knowledge, then there is a problem. But the person usually assumes straight away, that it (the problem) is with the external and not with themself. And so, another problem is created. Now we have a separation of the whole.

Many modern people have serious lackings in the use of foresight. Not a shock considering most of us have something to tell us what to do or where to go next. And now we have a third problem.

There are always ways to resolve these issues but the best and most effective one was, is and will always be - self responsibility.

It cannot be any other way because victims and martyrs do not solve problems, they generate bigger or deeper problems.

As it is in the world of trading as in Life, being personally responsible is paramount.

In one context ..... If the child is drowning it will be because they have not begun with appreciating the need to draw a map and do their searching, seeking to learn for the purpose only to learn instead of seeking to gain ..... a difficult task for many people, seeing as many believe they should only learn something when they see something they want as an end result.

(Of course if I literally saw a child drowning in a pool I would immediately secure their safety. THEN I would be looking around for their silly parent/s or babysitter !!)

The basic point to take from all this, is - Life doesn't always just hand you on a silver platter, what you seek or want to learn/know, and why should it? There are many things one can learn along the way but straight lines are not natural and any expectations toward them need to be handled with great care. The funny thing about all of this is that people do indeed crate their own straight lines ..... well straight-ish lines anyway.

Eg - The process for a child or a fully grown person is the same.

Once a person sees the main differences between 'seeking to gain' and 'seeking to learn', the way forward is simpler.

What I see in people is a lack of basic naturalness and this always comes from living too artificially for too long.

If a person wants to learn they need to respect themself first. What does this mean? It means value what you were been born with. Simple as that. No $5000 course needed. No man made categories required. This helps the person be comfortable with learning for 'no reward'.

In simple language, I would suggest to people to be themself and move on from celebrities and similars.

A child is drowning because of illiteracy of themself. And that child continues to drown because no one cares to help.

All of this is the reason why I ... DO NOT present everything in a way that has a "beginning-middle-end" structure. That is called programming/premeditated conditioning not learning. Learning, real learning, possess lines and curves and turns and more lines and curves.

......... The trick is in finding what grounds you to Life. This then becomes your anchor from which many things sprout.

Would "trading" be one of them? Or 'what's behind it' be on that list ?

The main and basic reasons why I believe in the person doing their own research is .....


1. They can learn many things along the way

2. The only way and time that a person can test out the quality of their thinking and research processes is by DOING the research. It is also an excellent time to test and or double check what they say / think / believe they know and understand about the area / field in which they are engaged in at that time.

3. It exercises the mind and heart which is very important going from young age to middle age to old age.

4. It gives you the opportunity to take a new look at what you think is real.


To me, 'hand-me-down' trading knowledge is actually very destructive and counterproductive. It also asserts specific assumptions that are then handed down to the next person. And then of course, it helps to generate 'target market groups' or what is also called 'prey groups'. Many a broker and trader over the years have been taken to court or jailed for fleecing clients or 'group participants' via this practice. But remember it does happen in other categories of society too. So let it be said - you've been warned.

When you start out in trading, either as a spectator or doer, there is one important rule of Life to truthfully understand about the world of Man and the society you've been born into and you live in ......

Either learn or imitate.

Lots and lots of people on this planet simply do not know and or see the difference, nor the point in knowing the difference. But I can tell you here and now that there does indeed exist a difference, a similarity of the two and a way of seeing them as the same thing.

I can use hundreds or thousands of words here to try and explain it and describe it, but I think a few simple and to the point audio visual examples will do the job nicely to start us off ........

This will definitely upset, annoy or even anger some people. And so it should. Why?

Firstly, most people today live under the guise that they "understand Life" or at least, "Life on this planet" ...... that they've got a good grasp of things. Maybe because they've read a lot of books, or maybe they've taken a lot of courses, or perhaps they "learned" something from someone else. But it's not until you step away from everything and seek only to put it in some perspective that has nothing to do with "human society", that you can go beyond any rationalization, excuse, justification, or some other form of activity of "to exclude" one thing to control another thing.

Secondly, most people tend to use either "old" or "new" excuses or "reasons" why this happens or that happens and doesn't happen. But they never go to the root of it all. They always seem to assume from the start, that even trying to go on this path is impossible, if not simply a waste of time to even try.

And herein sits the real problem.

Man did not "create" Life. The end. Now let's put aside religion and science and all of that for a moment and simply explore the idea that none of that even exists in this example. If you find that to be either implausible or "undo-able", then you have identified your point of limitation and ignorance for this level of exercise. Look at it, acknowledge it, make a note of it and lets move on.

Imitation is for entertainment or maintenance but never for full consideration and improvement.

This statement needs to sit in front of you until it drives an emotional response or reaction into your frontal awareness.

Most people always "conveniently" find an excuse or a "smart ass" thing to say to deflect off all of this (on autopilot), as if that's fooling everyone. For some of us we've seen it many many MANY times and it is not funny or impressive in any way. It shows insecurity and a basic lack of self respect. Therefore it conveys poverty of mind and weakness.

Now we are at a level where things get "real". Beyond the posturing and the name calling and the "interpretations".

This level asks only one question ....

Do you learn because you respect yourself or do you WANT for something, so you feel the "need" to "find a way" to "make a square block fit through a circular hole" ?.

Something to note here - on this level there is no such that exists labeled "Philosophy" or "Science" or "Religion" or "Psychology" etc etc. The basics are the basics and do not change ......... EVER. At this level "it is what it is".

There's no fast talking your way out of it all. There's no "Oh but......." and there is no running away and hiding.

It just is.

I know that most people have had a very difficult time with me being here and many of the things I have said and done. But most never seem to ask the right questions. Here, the reference of "right" is talking about "a very different and uncomfortable way to try and learn something". In this reference, you need to forget EVERYTHING you learned from your days in "school" and what you have been told is "the way" to learn.

There is a similarity that exists between imitation and learning.

Facade. This is one. Pretense is another. Familiarity of information and context are another example.

But while there are similarities, therein also sits the difference.

Flexibility. Experience. Non-categorical knowledge. These are a few examples that create a difference, or a shift away/divergence from the parallel paths of similarity between the two.

Lateral thinking, at its depths, is another great example of coming to realize the difference.

In trading, the people who are "taken advantage of" are those who choose to believe that the equation of [(People + money) x intention] is/can only ever be benevolent and on the other side of this argument, those who have "been taken advantage of", either temporarily or more permanently, become cynical or jaded or perhaps "damaged" by their experiences.

Therefore, your real intentions are what YOU need to identify, so you can decide for yourself .......

"Do I respect myself to be honest and truthful about my intentions so that I am free to learn without regret or pressure from Life and the people in it?"

If you think this is bullshit or "psycho-babble" crap then you have shown you possess very little Life experience and are more afraid of being wrong than to learn something new. While many think "Love" is some bS that hippies etc spiel about, self respect is in fact the opposite to self loathing/hate and therefore is another way of realizing, feeling and knowing love..... in realistic terms and forms minus society's jibber jabber and the plethora of sub categorical labels and segregation.

I have found that, in some contexts, there is little or no difference between love and learning. Both require the person to be honest and truthful and vulnerable to Life and all the scales of change it offers and presents.

Someone recently mentioned about a Zen master and a scholar having a conversation. Something that must be understood, is that words are very powerful persuaders. In the scale of Time and a specific situation, the Zen master will have a master, who still considers the previously mentioned zen master to be a mere student. And while the zen master who is speaking to the scholar, may think/consider themself enlightened, the real master seeks only to appreciate all 360 degrees of observation and change. Through this, one can learn as we were meant to, instead of applying "previous teachings" as "traditions" or some benchmark for one's capacity of action or choices.

This person also brought up Bruce Lee and some of the things he is apparently famous for saying.

One of his main teachers taught him to decompress any attack. However his own "Way of the Intercepting Fist" was a personal approach to taking the next step in defusing someone's attack. Jeet Kun Do was his "answer" to the same question his main teacher asked - How to breakdown/simplify the yin and yang relationship without destroying the essence of its nature, therefore, ultimately killing the person. And so help to bring a conclusive resolution. Of course in the movies they show different things because movies are entertainment and most people want to pay to see finality and violence rather than resolution. However Lee did show (in his movies) what can happen if you take it too far or if the situation pushes the person too far, depending on your perspective. Please understand this is not fact or fiction time in what I am saying, merely based on my own observations, learning and understanding.

One simple point here ...... the lessons are always the same, even if "the situation" appears new or different to you in the moment.

Here's a fun fact of Life on this planet and in our human society .....

** Those who venture into or operate in any field that is competitive, and who place Human Psychology, even on the simplest of levels, in last place on their list of priorities has made themself a loser/victim from the very beginning. By doing this you have just placed yourself behind the 8-ball and you will stay there until you realize and accept your folly.

My suggestion ....

Look up in a dictionary the following words and terms =

1. Proactive
2. Constructive
3. Self Respect

And then, write out all of the meanings of those words or terms in one big paragraph and see what it tells you. THEN, look at yourself in the mirror and then out into the world. And see if you stand up to those words.

NOBODY in their right mind, would deliberately try and excuse or justify laziness and apathy for being something else.

Life as a teacher does not just "give you what you want" ..... you have to seek it out and prove you're worthy.

People who do not seek are always full of excuses and never address step 1 ...... Themself.

You can lie to people but you cannot lie to Life. It will find you.

Someone asked me today why I don't talk more about strategies and tactics of trading.

The short answer is this -

I don't believe in entering a foot race mid way through and then call it "helping" "aiding" "sharing and teaching".

And I don't believe in programming people with something that ultimately creates a very unhealthy dependency and most definitely slows down their learning pace. Notice I said learning not imitating and copying.

It's hard to feel sorry for the people who will not think for themself, do their own research and who leave their learning up to other people they don't know anything about.

My note to them would be .....
