Although I've had some experience with trading overall, I've never tried fractals before, though I've heard of them & seen indicators based on them.

Because a three bar fractal indicates a shift in momentum, it could be useful to use as an exit for a trade. Just keep in mind that it doesn't necessarily mean the trend has changed. It could just be a pullback. But that same fractal you use to exit, may also be used to enter a trade in the direction of the trend. In short, 3 bar fractals are quite useful for trading. Using them on higher time frames is more reliable, however, such as H1, H4, and DI, for example.

OK, I'll definitely check this out on higher timeframe charts. Since I made a lucky entry I'm going to set up a sl slightly below my entry (the risk portion) and perhaps try your three bar fractal idea to start determining when to exit if still profitable.
Not even sure if I'm going to hold this trade thru the weekend yet, because I don't consider myself a hardened EURUSD bull at all. Can definitely understand downside risk.
Thanks for giving me a decent idea to work with.

You can find a 3 bar fractal indicator on TradingView. It will give you an idea on how it can be used for an exit strategy, as well as an entry strategy. But if you are going to use it for entries, it would probably be best to do so in the direction of the trend.

After taking a break from this place, I figured I would come back and try to help other traders out. But I can see the same negative attitude is present as before, the same loser mentality, the same trolling behavior. It's a shame that this thread isn't properly moderated. If I were moderating, I can think of a number of useless people who would not be allowed to post in here.

I'll have to look into this using MT4 for the time being. The marketplace and/or the MQL5 website might have something similar there, surely. I'll just have to let the trade 'float' unanchored for a few hours before I can research this further, as I have to step away for work.

It's possible EURUSD will simply drop to my sl over the next few hours, rendering this trade moot, but 3-bar would still be useful for the future in that case.

MQL5 does have an adjustable fractal. It's free. To get it to work for 3 bar, you have to go in its settings and set Bars before to 1, and Bars after to 1.

Well, that's only because there are jackasses in here who apparently aren't real traders. They have nothing better to do with their time than to hassle others, and ruin the experience for everyone. Many people have left FF because of such people.

For every one that has left 5 more fill their place.

The nature of FF and for that matter most social media is that it is absolutely full of jackasses ready to act like jackasses.

In one of my previous posts I stated the nature of obtaining respect at FF. There's only one way. Show that you know how to trade by posting many, many winning trades. Then members will naturally flock to you.

If you have an itch to "teach" then start your own thread and teach away. Teaching in this tread is likely to get little or no respect without backing it up with some good ole winning trades proving your points.

I'm actually not trying to argue with you but you seem to be very unhappy here and express your unhappiness regularly. Not trying to be personal but no one cares.

I know I said I wouldn't respond further on this matter, but I feel compelled to respond to this. Yes, it does look that way! So why do I even bother? My time would be better spent doing other things. Just as I put in the time and spent the money to learn to trade, others can do the same without my help.
