sell stop 08713 5 pips SL 5min counter trend. If Stopped out, I buy.
If I don't mention SL and/or TP = longer-term setup possibly in the works!

Well I screwed myself. Short position was going well but I wasn’t around to manage it, and it reversed. Got out for a small loss. No biggie. Will be back at it next week.

This whole week has been just one of those weeks.

My pleasure! And that makes the two of us, as its my own weird therapy as well. I do my best to have my trading reflect my posts, hence the plenty of sell and buy stops... I usually dont trade with them that much...

I found this week, aside from Monday(my only surviving long term shorts of the week are from there!) and Tuesday, much harder than many. If we would have known, we would have taken the rest of the week off right?
So much indecisiveness...
And these last hours: micro ranging, then outburst, again and again. Like right now, again. So hard to read !

Do you have a crystal ball? Anybody? Please tell me, is the 5min flagging getting ready to continue up or getting beaten by 0870s again, top of range in this established ranging day, to finally pummel down again AGAIN ?
If I don't mention SL and/or TP = longer-term setup possibly in the works!

you are right..my colleague is a huge inspiration even if my trades are messed up, i feel kind of not so emotionally disturbed.

thanks so much for the info...really appreciate it. at this moment i am just placing few trades getting ready to call this just one of those weeks ..
i have a long in the EU but i a not so sure about leaving it over the weekend..

That is so great, thanks for sharing Emmaelandi. I know how emotions can be tough to manage, at least how it did in my own trading in my beginnings, and especially when I was without strategies where 100% of what to do no matter what happens is known and respected because a proper amount of proof has given that weight to them, and especially when I was without a different, adapted, money management plan for every strategy. But even without that, we as traders have a lot of work to do with emotions ! But fixing that has to be in our top priorities. As you may have guessed, humor and just staying lighthearted all the time does wonders. We have to be free of stress, or else we are less sharp in our analysis and our actions, objective. We have to learn to love our losses just as much as our wins, because there is never one without the other. We could go on and on about all that right? A lot!

Mate ! I am so grateful to have been a positive presence for you, even if it is just for a tiny nudge toward more emotional stability "when the going gets rough".. SL is at 0863, TP 0891, and if not stopped, it will close automatically in 2 hours. But it was doomed the second I got in thinking it was a volatility pullback from the sudden rise. Fell in the Bloody range right away... Normal.. gotta crack some eggs to make an omelet!

I thanks everyone for hanging out here together during this amazing bear week! I should have a big update next week for my shared longer-term shorts!

On a last note, here is my favorite TF of the week, 3H. Beautiful!

If you ask me, it is rarely worth it. I only keep the ones that I know Ill probably keep for days no matter what and I have a lot to manage. Also, gaps can be much larger than usual...

We have French elections on Sunday, a bit dangerous to leave trade over the weekend and we are expecting a gap, which direction, I know not. Cheers.

Before I call it a day and week, here are my quick s/r levels for Monday...

Even with a gap I don't think the bottom is too far away, so don't stress it.. Leave your trades open or don't... For this week, it won't make a big of a difference imho...

My potential extreme bottom: 1.0798...
My nearest resistance: 1.0921...

Just check what happened for usdx, done over 100 at last, next likely very difficult further up so easily and sell at any top will apply next trading, so mirror in eu, only buy. As in smaller tf usdx failed top already, a retest 100 or even previous top possible to clear /confirm failure to breakout 99.80, pullback and continue below 99.32 to 98 again!
So retest previous low or at least 0846 eu possible to start bull next week most possible

Love that 2nd chart as it is only a matter of time before DXY retests 99.3XXXish. That proved heavy resistance from March 22 until Tuesday when it broke thru and hasn't stopped.
...because you never know - until you do!

Today was a huge liquidity absorption day, but good day to make money from shorts if you bothered to cash out, unlike me who gave it all back.

I see a similar set of circumstances to what we saw on March 28. Sideways channel forming liquidity, then liquidation at the bottom and strong push up through the top liquidity. I suspect we'll see another strong push up on Sunday/Monday to 0938 and maybe even as high as 0975. Great places to short from.
