Yes I run the EA whether there is news or not. News can go either way its 50/50, and sometimes it can help the basket, or not, or not have any affect at all depending on the pairs in the basket.

I saw the main difference between your preset #1 and #2 is the open time setting which are the 15 minutes before london open for #1 and 15 minutes after for the #2. I wonder if you had ever experimented with london open time + 1 hour/1.5 hour ? Because sometimes I saw the market would give strong push on 1 or 1.5 hour after london open time.

Also, what's the reason of the Take Profit (2.5%) to be smaller than the Stop Loss (5%) ? Had you ever tested it with bigger Take Profit like 5% or 7.5% ?

Based on your questions it would appear to me that you have not read all my posts and experiments going back at least the last 2 years especially since the CMSM indicator was shared by grandaevus.

If you want to learn more I encourage you to spend some time and read, and you will find all the answers to your questions.

Alternatively you can always experiment yourself like I did and find what open times, and profit settings works best for you, good luck.

Still i monitoring the combo of 3 set files ( before ask me where ,please read post #20,103 ) , is a long term ea so some month are in profit and some in loss. Real trading strategy.

Hey mrdfx or anyone who are testing the mrdfx's 1st preset, could you share the current April month's % profit/loss gain? I would like to compare my 1st preset result.

I got -4.86% gain for the 1st preset, but I started the test from 5th day, so I missed two days (1st and 4th day). Taking account of the missing two days, the result would be between -14.86% (if both days hit 5% SL) and 0.14% (if both days hit 2.5% TP).

I also tested the 4th and 5th preset, I got -4.58% and -7.28% as the results respectively. Same like the 1st preset, the test also started from the 5th day.

I run the tests with XM broker using standard demo account (no zero spread).

Edit: I think I made mistake on the % gain numbers, since the presets use percentage rule on the TP & SL, I should calculate the gain with compounding method instead of just summing up the daily % gain numbers. So the rectified results are:

Preset 1 = -5.25%
Preset 4 = -5.08%
Preset 5 = -7.84%

Hi , you can see the result of preset 1 under mrdfx account him got 9% profit this month. The broker used is icmarket raw spread ( important because is broker sensitive) and remember to change the gmt times from set files original because we are in the summer shift.

P.S. Every info about this system and how to work on is from the previous page of this thread , so will be better scroll back the pages for get all the kind of answer ...

Yeah, I can see that. I am aware of the broker and account type could influence the result, that's why I'm curious to see how big is the result difference for his 1st preset.

To mrdfx: Thank you for presenting your results in January of your testing of your set files.

I started trading the system on a live account using both Preset 1 and Preset 2, exactly as you uploaded in your Post #20,103 on January 3, 2022. I would like to share the results of my trading from January through April 29. All the presets, indicators, and EA are from the zip file you uploaded on January 3.

One major difference on how I trade the system is that it is not totally “Set and Forget”. If the real basket is still open after 3 hours, I will close it manually if it is in profit or near breakeven. If the basket is losing, I let it run until it hits SL or comes back to break even.

Why do I close a basket after 3 hours? This is my logic. After 3 hours, the original suggested pairs may no longer be optimum for trading. Notice how frequently the trade suggestions change on the CMSM indicator. So what was a good suggestion 3 hours ago, may not be good now. Another reason. When a real basket opens, it is because the basket has momentum in the correct direction. This is more than likely no longer the case after 3 hours.

Why do I use 3 hours as the cut off time? That is simple. Real baskets open typically between 2:00 AM to 2:30 AM, my time, while I'm still sleeping. I generally get up from bed between 5:00 AM to 5:30 AM, hence the 3 hours. If I got up at 4:00 AM I would manually close the basket for the same reasons.

At this point, then it becomes just luck in which direction the basket goes. This will be affected by the European and USA economic news. I prefer to close the basket at breakeven rather than risking a 5% loser. It will take twice as many winners as losers just to break even if I let the baskets run. I wish I had a second identical basket to allow to run to TP or SL so I could compare against the manual close, but I don’t.

I will present the results of my trading on the next post.
