I am wondering why USD is going down when the interest just went up? As far as I know a currency always goes up when central banks increase the interest rate.
Is it because the rise was less than expected or something to do with the prospect of ceasefire?

CBDC is much worse? How so? We dont have one yet...Digital Money (All the online transactions you do is US dollars from your bank account or credit cards/venmo/Cash App etc..) is abundant across systems yes, that digital money tracked or ledgered by Commercial banks. A CBDC would be backed up and owned by the Federal Reserve.

We already have a digital $? Interesting....I wonder why the Federal Reserve is exploring the concept of creating a CBDC (Digital $/Currency).

you have to look at the diagram
central bank money means the consumer and business have an account with the Fed not a bank
theres no fail safe in the system like now as with a bank ,a bank is supposed to loan money on merit .

In the press conference Powell was kinda dovish. He kept blaming the supply chain issues for the high inflation and said that inflation will come down in time. Until the press conference, USD was doing good.

The words of the central bank chairmans won't affect the market for too long though. These are temporary movements that last one or two days. Remember how Euro gained value in the February meeting but gave everything back in a week. Lagarde was hawkish than expected during the press conference.

Markets prefer the numbers over words in the long run. If you are a position trader, short Euro from here and enjoy the profits in the coming days and weeks.

its clear that the current policy is no where near aggressive enough to deal with 8% inflation ,they (fed) couldn't be further out

Is ECB aggresive enough though?

If we are talking about commodity and energy prices you are right. But if we are comparing Euro and the Dollar, we need to compare both central banks.

now i remember why i have this tool ignored in the past id love to see you call on your entry and exits lmao. all your analisis on what happened has always been so off its insane . powell was super super awkish. problem is the people who are not dumb realize the 3 fundamental problems about their stance.

1- gradual behind the curve increase in rates like he admited he had to do, have lots of potential problems because they do not adress the problem fast and they increment variables in the future.
2- they are actually trying to cause a disruption in the labour market to stop inflation great tool lmao. the ideally market which they achieved after so much effort on labour where they need to pay more to get qualified ppl for the job and forces people to evolve is going to get fucked up to solve price stability lmaaaoo.
3- he admited there is cause for concern on how this policy may create a housing crisis for the less fortunate.

apart from these 3 points, the 0.25 was already more than priced in, and they did not show signs of going for the 0.5 only 1 guy voted for that.
that being said, with also russia pseudo defaulting today, russian war apearing to be getting better. the scenario is all set to have a move upwards.
only a fool would justify his positioning like that guy does above which literally makes no sense at all. im going to stop posting here from now on ill just like the post from F.q etc who are worth looking into specially for entry points which have been really helpfull to me tbh. but the ignored list in here is so high right now its not even worth discussing things anymore xD

I'm also thinking it will climb higher. Nothing substantial, however. Perhaps 1.12 - 1.13 range.
