Well I guess that would make me a cult follower as well, since my mentor is a former ICT student. I couldn't care less. All I know is that if I didn't learn "smart money" I'd still be lost in the retail world, fooling with indicators, drawing Fibonacci Retracements like a chump and trying to catch bull/bear flag breakouts while barely eking out a 1:1.5 risk-reward in trades that last 2-3 days. Then losing the next trade under similar circumstances wondering why it didn't work. That was pretty much how I was trading from 2009-2021. I said goodbye to that shit.

ICT Video Review file 'ICT Forex Price Action Lesson: Advanced IPDA Insights.'

Part 1
After being informed of the trader ITC claiming to use algorithms I thought I'd peek in and take a look see what cards he's revealing. This is a brutal drive by assessment of trader ITC's techniques and methods. What is ICT about and is he using algorithms? Lets dive in and find out.

I see ICT range trading. I see a lot of speculation on why moves happened. He's breakout trading and speculating on reasons. He's identifying ranges and break out opportunities. I think he's probably used over bought over sold indicator in the past but maybe he don't need it now. He's using candle formations to identify resistance zones.

He seems a bit giddy about "An hourly candle signature" at the top of the range "it's a rejection block." He says we "won't know how to use it unless," he shows us ahead of time how it plugs into the ranges he's identified? "It's a new animal a new gimmick but nobody else knows about this stuff but me." I see a 1 hour pin bar candle at the top of his identified range. He called it a rejection block He says others won't know?

So he's got the 1 hour rejection candle and experience to know markets bear down on Tues. He's committed to sell position based on general market sentiment, ranges, the day Tuesday and a 4th thing we'll get to soon.

Lots of speculation on what the algorithm and interbank traders will do where their orders and stops are. Attaching ideas to chart moves. What came first the market drop, the algorithm giving a decline or the trader sentiment?

"I teach how to trade break of market structure." Again his best game seems to be break out / range trading.
'The Fair Value Gap', he discovered it he owns it. "if you understand this principle you'll never need to work hard again for your money." What is a fair value gap? When a market delivers on the downside a candle moves down and there's a gap between previous candles low and the next candles high this leaves a gap. The market will go back up and re test the low of the first candle for price efficiency and becomes a balanced price range. The same works in up and down scenarios. So he's identifying areas for retrace back tests of broken levels.

He points out another Fair Value Gap but this one doesn't fill in all the way and he says we should have known to short it but it never made it to the level he indicated in the first example. But we should have known to trade at the shorter not completed retrace to first candle he tells.

He gives a nice description of FOMC news price action. "Clearing stops above and below previous range."
Why 1.1740 was his ultimate target for all this? Because at the very beginning of the bull run there's 3 candles that appeared at the bottom of a down run. The high of the first candle to the low of the third candle there is a 1 to 2 pip gap and the middle candle joins the two price areas that has not yet filled in by 1 or 2 pips. But we've just seen in the 2nd example how retrace price doesn't always completely fill in the gap, but we're suppose to know this time that it will give him the overall target?

On the 4 hour chart the last down close candle before the bull run it's high was 17413. He's saying he knew price was going to go back there and he rounded the target to the nearest 10.

He knows a lot of clues in the market that he's collected over 30 years study. He takes simple basic trading techniques and combines them for maximum effect. First I thought he's getting to excited about simple trading techniques like candles, gaps, ranges, breakout stuff. All seems like basic things but they are so effective and when you put them in an overall framework (what he's calling algorithm?) with it's many elements he calls macros you can build a powerful framework of ideas. So you've got something to measure moves against those ideas. Even if your plan is wrong having a wrong plan in place makes a framework which will let you know when things are going wrong. Simple but powerful little things that you gain over a career in trading.
He's obviously good at these things: range trading, over bought over sold signals, rejection candle formations, over all dollar bullish sentiment, knows when the market likes to move, He's always on the look out for broken level to be tested.

This is a summary of what I've learned about ICT in only 1 40 min video, he must know a ton of other stuff he's gained in 30 years of trading. I'm probably gonna check out more of his videos for tips and tricks.

He's not using rocket science as far as I can tell so far, he keeps it to basic signals on the chart. He strives to trade on bare charts, I have to commend that. You just don't need lagged indicators clogging up the screen. I haven't used it for a decade but I was a big fan of the 123 method using 'Trend Signal' indicator and ADX MA cross over. You can combine few indicators to form a solid system like 123 method to get you into trades and stay profitable. In the right combination with the right systems they can be used to great effect. So they're are not to be rejected lightly.

THE ROCKET SCIENCE

The market algorithm creates a vortex linking all waves in sequence through every degree in every time frame. ICT knows there's a hidden force at work here. He's putting in maximum effort to try to reason with it's logic.

Part 2 "ICT has blown out his account a lot of times."

Blown Accounts

The old saying is "It takes 50K to learn the market." But now they say "YOU CAN GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOB AND EARN A LIVING IN YOUR SLEEP WITH MINIMAL EFFORT TRADING THE FOREX MARKET."

There's a couple hundred million traders with constantly blown up accounts wondering what the hell is happening. They're convinced they can excel in an industry without taking a degree course.

They call Charles Gann the greatest trader ever. He blew out his account aprx 70 times before he became the legend. I've blown out my account more times than that. You can't really judge ITC on that. You have to lose again and again and again until you remember all your mistakes, this is how it works 50k of mistakes. It cost me 5K to learn the market. But if he's playing up the mentor role taking peoples money and still blowing up regularly then it's not good situation.

I think 99% are lost in this industry. 1% for sure truly understand markets waves are ruled by natural law. Another 9% have a good system that keeps them in the game. Everyone else is permanently blown up.

Approximately 200 million people have been sold the idea that they can make money easily with little effort. A lot of people are expecting benefits without paying their dues. 99% of all traders are completely in the dark. I'm wondering if some of this anti ITC sentiment is also disillusionment with the industry that kills 90%?

There's a massive disconnect between the reality and what everyone's been told that it's easy to make money trading.
He speculates a lot to create a picture or framework of ideas to measure trade plans against. Some people must gain an inner sense of how market moves after a long time trading. Even if they lack the real reasoning behind moves that re occur. They can still get an idea of how patterns or candle combinations do what, when and they gain a sense of which indicators and chart set ups produce what results. No matter how little or how much you truly understand and can define what's happening Experience is gonna give you the skill set to regularly trade profitably.

I watched ITC's first video 47 minutes. Thought he was a bit strange with his unusual excitement of several well known basic trading techniques. I thought it was strange how he claimed them as his discoveries. I found it hard to comprehend some of his stuff on the first watch. I appreciated his teachings on the basic methods. I thought it odd that he was claiming what seemed like well known techniques as his own. I thought he was using the term algorithm because it's popular maybe nothing there to suggest he's found an actual market algorithm. I found myself somehow curious to watch more of his videos. I was impressed with his lesson on fair value gaps but thought he was explaining what would happen from a re run. Then I see him moving orders about and thought ok something good here. I thought the trade terms he used seemed out of place. I wrote part one of this report that he seemed odd didn't really make a ton of sense, though I got a re educated on some classic time tested methods.

ICT SCAMMER VIDEOS

I looked up videos saying he's a scammer. One video features an insider guy form ITC's video mentor program is being interviewed. The interviewer openly offers him money to talk smack about ICT right at the start of the interview that immediately bombs. The man says his trading mentor recommended ICT to him? Why would his mentor be offering him another mentor? Because he couldn't understand the first mentor? The mentor felt like putting himself out of work? So the interviewer tries to push the point that maybe his trading mentor was scammer to recommend ICT he must also be a scammer is the interviewers line of attack. The man shuts down the interviewer with the "NO." answer then the interviewer is desperately clawing at any shred to claw back to his point of view and after several minutes. I just turned off the 2 bit hack job. They just seemed to be complaining that he could not make profit with the lessons is what I take from that video. After a year of learning with ITC he couldn't make money. It took me 2 days to make profitable trade calls after watching ITC for an hour and then re watched another hour and I was using his methods to verify targets and posting forecasts with his methods.

The next day someone asked me what I think about his video on order blocks so I checked out his 4 minute video on Order Blocks and everything he'd been saying clicked. I see in this video that, he might not be able to define or describe in terms I would recognize how he see's the market algorithm but he sees it. He demonstrated that he can sense the pattern and combine these old well known simple effective techniques into the pattern to consistently find good trades.

I come to see him as a contemporary. He's taken these simple methods, maybe he's added to them or realized something else about them how they fit into the algorithm and made them his own. He's come up with his own definitions to define them right or wrong in description he knows what they do and that's enough. He's got 30 years of experience and not done teaching yet. He's teaching us all this great system he's put together. He's helping you see how to win and this puts a target on his back.

I'm staring to adopt his terminology, and in two days already implementing his lesson. Things I learned from 1 hour of his videos have solved problems that have been plaguing my system for years.

He can see how markets move and built a system around it. He's showing you all the moon some people only see his finger. To be fair it is not easy concepts to grasp. It takes a few watches to soak up the full goodness.

I'm grateful they asked me to approach him about algorithms, and asked me about order blocks. I've watched 2 of his videos totalling 1 hour of lessons and can't tell you how much it's helped me because I haven't stopped learning yet and there's loads more vids to watch.

I'm taking all his best stuff and incorporating it with mine. I didn't see anything yet to suggest he's scamming people.

ICT works very well if you know how to use it. personally i dont but a few friends are very profitable with this system. also have videos if you want them, dont kmow if its the same guy who puts you to sleep tho lol

i dont get why people trash other styles. you have to find your own style and keep pressing it imo. if there was one style that worked forex probably wouldnt exist. there has to be losers

Tensions are easing, but there is still risk. Sooner or later EU will go up though, there will be no war between Russia and Ukraine. Explained why i think that way in the second quote.

I am also long again on NU, AU, GU. Of course these are all risk-on positions and they may cause trouble if tensions go up again. Which is why i also have EG shorts and GA, EA longs.
