very good explanation, but to fully get it i must ask few questions:

1. what does S stand for? stops?
2. what does H stand for? high?
3. what does HNS stand for? head and shoulders pattern?
4. who created HNS? guys who are sitting in London and moving the market?

5. price touched QM level on daily timeframe. bullish candle (yesterday candle) closed with little wick up (your right red arrow points to it) and we have a situation. this is QM level, the place to sell. how do we decide whether we should sell or buy? you bought it. was it based on what?
i would sell in this place and would get stopped out.

we are getting stopped out because we are reading it wrong.

Hi Genadi,

The example given was Head & Shoulder (H&S) pattern.

Do we KNOW for a fact that if none of us acted on a H&S pattern that it would actually continue doing what it has traditionally done? Maybe the actions of the smaller traders (not market makers) is what finalizes the movement of money to make the pattern complete.

The thing is, we will never know, because there is no way we can uniform every trader in the world to NOT take a money making opportunity.

For example, it's always off the 2nd shoulder of the H&S that the price finally lets go and either plummets or skyrockets. With that said, when do most people enter the trade?
Off the 2nd shoulder where the major price movement is located.

Do you see any coincidence with that? (works for all patters including support and resistance)

But, remember this ......What they don't tell you is that it would take many billion and billion dollar orders to move the FX market a couple of pips, if at all.

SUBJECT OF DISCIPLINE


Most traders do not have enough discipline to follow a trading system, no matter how good the system is.

They will always do one of the following :

1: They will try to be smarter than the system by changing its rules from time to time. "Hey let's move the stop, I have a feeling (??) this trade needs more room to breath".

Then they stupidly let the market move against them 200 pips instead of just 35 pips.
Another scenario "Ok, let's close this trade now, 10 pips profit is better than nothing". 20 minutes later the market has moved an extra 110 pips in their favor and now they look like total idiots with their lousy 10 pip profit.

2: They will not take EVERY trade that the system is signaling, they will place the trade THEY "like".
Well guess what: the trades we "like" are almost always losing trades, while the trades that are psychologically difficult to initiate end up making us money. As I said before, most good winning trades are counter-intuitive! It does not pay to do the "easy" thing in trading.

3 They will abandon the system completely at the first serious drawdown and search for the next "best" system.

Even if you give traders the best trading system in the world, they will ALWAYS find a way to screw things up.


P/S Point # 2 is very important. Read it until you understand it means.
