Alpari demo account, is it in real real time?

I may be slightly repeating the question asked originally but I'm going to ask anyway.

Is running on a Alpari demo account the same as running on a alpari live account. i.e are the prices / slippage / spread the same?

There's no slippage on demo, that's a big difference. While you can enjoy instant execution on demo, this wont happen on a real account all the time.

Requotes on demo are not the same as on a live account, especially during economic/news releases.
The price feed is real time so that you can develop and practice your strategy before going to live. Take the demo account more seriously and pretend that the money is real one.. So that you can get psychological pressure in the mean time while trading

psychological pressure killed 65% of my account when i decided to go live, I was breaking all (my own, and basic) rules when the fact hit me I was doing it for "real".
I was bailing solid trades early and taking a loss only to then see it come back and hit my original target, Etc.Etc...
I wish I had taken my demos more seriously, and retrained my brain early on.

I am live on Alpari US and also have demos. Looks the same to me. however I am not constantly cross checking them, but when I switch from one to the other the chart remains identical, as does price give or take in the amount of time it takes me to make two clicks.

i am with UK. Ive never tried the US version.

Have a ? can you "hedge" with Al-UK?... ie a short and a long on the same trade??

your live trades will be subjected to slippages, that may rob you of a pip or two, especially if market is moving fast.

We do offer different kinds of demo accounts. Each specific demo account type reflects the conditions of its live account counterpart.

Hi fivex,

There are no restrictions on hedging when you trade on the MetaTrader 4 or Systematic platforms.

MetaTrader 5, Alpari Direct Pro and Alpari Direct do not allow hedging.
